Mr Brightside Mate, mate, mate, whassaat duhhnn duhhnn sumfing sisstyniiiiiiiiiiiiine? Do that. Mr Brightside again Put that 69 one on. The Bryan Adams one. Yeah, that.
2. I've got 4 of the Hercules ones that grab the neck, been using them for years. One's even got my EUB on at the mo!
3. That is...AWESOME! The noise I just made on seeing those pictures can probably be best described as 'less than manly', and has betrayed my cool exterior. Want one! 5 string! NOW!
4.
Rickenbacher ? :-)
Is that where Sherlock Holmes died?
5. So many have occupied that bit of mental shelf over the years - Nevermind, Fire of Unknown Origin, LZ IV, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Five Miles Out, Sgt Pepper's, No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims, Psychomodo, Astro Creep 2000... (Smashie and Nicey voice) ...and many more! but then, I do tend to hammer certain LPs to death before moving on. I got reminded of the existence of Vision Thing the other week after not hearing it for probably the thick end of 20 years, downloaded it for the car for a long drive and knew EVERY word.* *except for one misheard one which I now prefer to the actual one.

8.
I've heard the double bass referred to as a bull fiddle. That, in today's age of political correctness and sexual equality would make the cello his bitch perhaps?
I'm pretty sure that by-laws have been passed denoting bull fiddling as a severely tuttable offence.
9. I did a 5 string jazz, but by taking out the pocket and using a 5 string neck and using bar-magnet pickups. It were awreet - till I got bored and used the bits for something else!
10. It's actually very simple - they are worthless because I've got one.
11.
Having got rid of my Fender Jazz 5 string for being too heavy (10lb+) I have wondered whether the Squier P 5 might be a lighter alternative. Do you know what it weighs in at?
Mine just rung up exactly 4kg.
12. I just got the same one with flats on and it won't let me put it down.
13. If it ain't been half-inched I'd get it home!
14. I've used Schallers and another name brand (I forget which), both awful. I have 3 instruments wearing cheapy ones off ebay with no problems whatsoever. Oldest set fitted 3+ years ago and not given them a second thought since. Go figure!
15. Nah. Nothing. I'm obviously cloth-eared when it comes to flats. I've got 2 sets here and can't tell the difference.
16. Love my Planet Waves one, it's my gigger and if I need to do intonation I use it in 'strobe'. I also bought the Reverb one, which now lives on the bridge of my EUB 'cos it can't read a 'B' (unless it's in guitar setting in which case it can't make its mind up) Still, can't really grumble for 2 quid!
17.
It's made me wonder if muso's are better at completing different tasks at once ? We must be?
I'm certainly not - if I want to know the time when I'm walking I have to stop, look at my watch and then carry on. I spent 3/4 of an hour the other day trying to perfect hitting a pedal at the right points in a song. The result? Not 'appnin!
18. This is why, miserable gits that we are, everything gets packed away as soon as the last chord's over.
19.
I'd be tempted to leave the headstock as it is, because "Thunder Supreme Voyager" is such a gloriously tacky name!
I have to admit I totally agree, and find it very hard to dislike something with such a marvellously naff title, and would probably find myself referring to it as 'the Thunder Supreme Voyager' (never shortened!) so often that everyone hearing it would punch me. Is it bad that I even like it for a band name?
20. Aaanyhoo, joke failure notwithstanding, I just picked up a VM P5 with flats on (seem quite new, though) but the only time I can tell when flats are a bit past their best is with a pick, and even then I find the difference fairly subtle. Is this down to the brand/type of flats or am I just some sort of cloth-eared philistine?
21.
I like dead flats
...and I cannot lie...etc. Sorry. Extra coat, please, it's very cold out.
22.
Although in the majority of cases with my students, a technique change has alleviated any 'sticky neck' problems...
Taking the last three words away has made this sound very rude! Alright, I'm going.
23. I use the Hercules ones that grab hold of the neck, but it'll be more down to the fitting of the screws into the wall than the make of the hanger I'd have thought.
24. I don't do big amps and expensive basses, but I'll chuck a BB-1X and a Smooth Hound in the boot if anyone's interested.
