I'm actually rather taken with the 'lateral thinking' take on the SG headstock break, and I really like the acoustic with the Strat plate on, but then, I play a pink Daisy so I'm aware my opinion on instrument looks may not be very highly respected.

Simply in awe! Apart from the fact I don't understand how the human brain is capable of playing and singing at the same time, (never mind this well) I'm finding this a great antidote to that miserable, overblown pub singer the entire world seems to be bleating on about at the moment. Try playing against a CD player as opposed to a tinterweb or MP3 source and see if you have the same problem. I had this on multiple basses for a while and it turned out to be the digital sources a couple of percent out on the playback speed. YT is especially bad for this, (bloody miles out, actually!). If it carries on with a CD then I'd look at the bass.

Would screw extractors fit in the cut-out?

Not exactly hitting the budget, but my BB415 is a hefty bit of tree, so maybe the more upmarket BBs would be worth a look.

I wouldn't worry about it, we're like a Formula 1 crew at the end of the last song and happily crash our way through whoever is between us and the door. (or more usually congregated in it ) We did this so well once that, (after we'd gone down like a fart in a space suit) a DJ put on 'Dance the Night Away' when we finished. We all slammed our boots shut by the last beat of the song! We were quite proud of that.

If being a jazz an makes you open-minded, what does it mean if I like a lot of the other stuff while being comfortably perched in the 'stick that smug tuneless twaddle up yer pipe' category?

I realise that the vid doesn't compare playability at all, which might well be where the extra sponds go, (wouldn't know as I've never been in the same room as one) but all I got from it was a new bout of love for my 415.
