1. Got this stuck in me 'ed now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JwGpBmyPRA
2. According to the jump-on-and-off-the-scales method somewhere around the 4kg mark (twice at 3.9 and twice at 4.1) - and once at 25.3. I'm ignoring that last one!
3. Vintage are quoting 42.5mm for the current version (Reissued), I can get an accurate reading for you tomorrow if you need one as my Verniers are in work. It's definitely more P than J neck wise.

.-.

Move along, nothing to see here.
5. Actually applies to the whole band in my case. Not sure how this show passed me by, though.
6. Well, I can hardly use mileage as an excuse, my car would just be thinking about using top gear by the time I got there! Pencil me in.
7. 'Bring on the shameless plug' you say? Oh, alright then. http://soundcloud.com/vince-peters/double-vision-stand-by-every-breath-you-take
8.
It's almost like playing with a guitarist that understands how to play in a band with other musicians.
Yeah, and the pigs round here fly backwards to keep the dust out of their eyes.
9. I never could play by ear, so I play over there instead. Ahayethengyow. Ah, my coat.
10.
So i gig 4 basses... 4. Yamaha BB424x ( ... it's not been gigged yet) 5. Squier Modded Frank Bello Jazz ( ... not gigged yet and unlikely unless i had too)
erm...3, then.* Mine: 1 - BB415. Can't fault it. 2 - The Legendary Shrinking Violet. No explanation needed. 3 - BTB675. As nice to play as it is to look at, but we're just not bonding. *I'm putting the pedantry pixie to bed, now.
11. Looks like a Zephyr 5. I used to have a couple of the similar bolt-on versions and both were VVTT. The 5 started acting exactly as you described, I put new pots in and it was fine. The original ones were exceedingly naff.
12. Yet another noob alert. I got myself one of these infernal contraptions on a total whim a couple of weeks ago. How long before I stop feeling like this?
13. I've been using one of these for a few years now and haven't got a bad word for it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sweex-7-1-External-USB-Sound-Card-SPDIF-IN-AND-OUT-BUS-POWERED-SC016-/262082729844?hash=item3d05591774:g:Sj4AAOSwuWVWFWHc
14.
So very many bad album covers out there.... and, at the risk of judging a book by its cover, probably so many bad albums! But what about good albums with bad covers?
Enter stage left the complete works of Wishbone Ash.
15. Which is the 'can't afford gear because band member' option?
16.
Two thirds of the set is in concert pitch, the other third, half a step down. We used to play everything half a step down and my four stringer was set up tuned to Eb. The band think that a lot of the songs sound better in concert pitch, but the DC and Lizzy stuff sounds better half a step down. The choices are two differently tuned basses, retune between songs (I've been doing this at rehearsals and can retune quicker than the guitarists can change their guitars) or try the five string option
This was pretty much why I took up 5 string in the first place, and rarely pick up a 4 now. If I tried to play a downtuned song on a 4 string now, I'd probably have a fit!
17. I had to vote 'other' despite having no posh gear. If I hear a great bass sound, my eye seeks out the cab first, then amp, then the floor round said player's feet. Only if I see nothing more than a DI box and a lead will I think 'That bass sounds fab'. I've done plenty of gigs on a G4M P that I got off the ebay for 30 tokens. No-one noticed or cared. But then, I have been known to rock up with a pink daisy, so shouldn't be listened to on this whole subject.

It's a Jazz, it's a Squier, it's the bass that you desire...

It looks like a Jazz, it sounds like a Jazz, it would smell like one, but it probably still smells of polish. I've given the board a clean, the frets a wee shine and put some new strings on. Being a black one it is obviously very good for metal. £120 delivered.
21. I do admit to quite liking the idea of 'enthusiastic' guitarists with 2 cables plugged into one shoe, though.
