  1. ha, brilliant! i hate it when someone comes over after or during a gig and moiders you about music and stuff. i have no idea what there on about. lol
  2. hi everyone. just wondering if there is anyone elles out there that has no idea of what there playing?? i always wanted to play the bass so i bought one years ago and some tutorial books to get me started. i was verry eager and couldent wait to get started as i was playing trombone in a soul band and this sparked something in me. howeaver... when i started to learn with the books everything was in a diferent key obviously so i found myself getting confused and thought to myself... sod this i just want to play the damm thing lol.. so 5 years later im playing in my third band, were a 4 piece cover band curently with a set of 28 songs, but i have no idea to some degre what im playing really in tearms of keys and all that. i understand music through playing the trombone and did my theorys with that instrument. i just listen to the band and play along with them. anyone elles doing this???
  3. yes exactly. it all depends really on the price. jst wanted to know what i was buying more than anything. if its not a genuine jazz bass, thats fine as long im not paying that sort of price. so the neck is defenetly a replacement by the looks of it. and the hole is a screwdriver puncture or slip. what iv noticed also is its heavyer than my squire jazz. dose that mean anything?
  4. hese unfortionatly in and out of the hospital at the moment so im not able to question him on it. he just handed it over and said try this one. this is a lovely jazz bass.
  5. taken the neck off the body. i think is says mighty mite there or something similar. theres no stamp or markings on the body at all.
  6. it dose say fender corona california on the chrome plate.
  7. hi, nothing writen on it without me actualy taking the neck off.
  8. hi everyone. iv been given a fender jazz to try before i buy it off a friend of a friend who is selling all his gear due to ill health. i cant shake the feeling this isnt all its it should be. the neck dosent sit on the body perfectly like it dose on my squire jazz. theres no serial number on the back of the neck like on my swuire. how can i determine if this is a genuine fender jazz
  9. hi everyone. i meed a new set of strings. im using a fender jazz bass. i changed from ernie ball slinkeys arround 5 months ago to earnie ball flat wounds. i loved them but there gone now after 5 months. the intonation on the a and d strings are beyond. is this normal. i dont know anything about the bass really. im a self tought bass player in a 4 piece cover band. we practice every week and gig arround twice a month. two 50minutes sets. i just thought perhaps for the price that they would last much longer than this.
  10. hi everyone. just fitted a new set of ernie ball slinky flatwounds on my squire jazz bass and just noticed that i have 0.10mm (used a feeler gauge to measure it) clearance on the first frett. i have a feeling this is to low. what do you think?
  11. hi everyone. iv been playing bass for about 3 years now and been gigging. im finding it hard to set the eq. im basicly cluless. im getting plenghty of low deep bass but when im playing mid neck on the a and d strings im finding it hard to punch through the rest of the band. what should i adjust. are there any simple articles out there to explain to a clueless non tecknical person. lol thanks
  12. hi everyone. im rather new to the bass guitar world. iv got a squire jazz bass with duncan designed pickups. iv found recently im having to play allot harder to get the same gain i was a couple of months back. im using ernie ball flatwounds and i havent moved the pickups. i was wondering if the pickups were dodgy or broken.
