1. Always spare a thought for your drummist once in a while, the poor soul spends at least 2 hours a week with nothing better to look at than your behind.
 2.
I've just picked the bass up from my old flat, I've got 3 pots and knobs, PU's are nearly sorted, gonna dig out the soldering iron, just need a wiring diagram to work to (anyone got one?) I'm gonna remove the stickers so we've got a blank canvass so to speak.
I may have one - is it V/V/T ?

 4. Count me in on the north east Wales front!
 5. Both the models you've mentioned are lovely things to play in all the variants I've owned, but I wouldn't say any of them had what you'd call a chunky neck. Slim necks seem to be the trademark fixture.
 6. I have a V800 and the active output is no more than a strong passive. (I have no idea if the circuitry is different in the EST, however) Have the manufacturers of your fx kit put any sneaky active/passive switches anywhere? I would have thought if your kit behaves ok with a passive, then there's an attenuator missing somewhere. Other than that I'm on headscratch duty!
 7. OK, gonna dip my toe into this with Emma's video. (easy when you're not in it, of course!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHKWUOK4Jd8
 8.
Sub zero: Steinberger XL2's: They look fantastically purposeful and elegant. The ergonomics aren't to everyone's liking but the same could be said for the Lamborghini Muira and that didn't stop it being cool either. I'm in the process of building a rack for mine so I can mount it on the lounge wall and it really does look the business when lit properly.
Don't forget to use really big bolts and to drain the fuel and oil out first.
 9.
Wanted - Bass Player Regular work, rehearse weekly (Tuesdays). Prefer lazy whore but confused clowns will also be considered. No timewasters. Call Terry on 00927 3420000
Are you sure this is the right number, I don't seem to be getting an answer.
 10.
...Rickenbacker humbucker...
Try saying that ten times after a few beers!
 11.
Em... worked :/
Eh?
 12.
...and the bassist was self indulgent, ugly, talentless and was repelling women away from the stage.
Don't drag me into this!
 13. If you go for BRG then paint the headstock yellow like a Lotus 7.
 14. I wonder if there's a valid compo claim there for having your left thumb mauled after a nice big slide down to the F?

 17.
Comparing the 4 and 5 string Squier VM's the lugs are stretched out in proportion. You would have to fill and re route. A
Thank you, sir, you have just saved me a huge jumping-up-and-down-growling session! There's actually just a big gaping hole under the scratchplate but at least I now know I'll need a new one. Sorry for the hijack BTW.
 18. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:114762] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:114763] Y'know, I'd never noticed the overhang on the bottom of the neck till you mentioned it! It's only about 2mm and doesn't affect playing in any way. But - having never had my hands on a 5 string jazz pickup - are the lugs further apart top-to-bottom than on a four? I'd assumed they'd be in the same place and to just extend the top and bottom where the poles are. (this is all to do with why my one has a gaping hole in waiting for a neck pickup)
 19. Why not just rout out the neck pocket and pickup holes? - instant 5 string.
 20. 'Throw Down the Sword' is one of my fave tunes to play, just haven't managed to convince other people to play it with me yet! Check out what MT's doing on 'Leaf and Stream' as well, there's a lot more going on in there than meets the eye. (ear?) Anyways, that's tomorrow morning sorted - I'm gonna have a crack at 'Cosmic Jazz'!
 21.
Exactly, maybe unless it's a vintage instrument with a worn and abused truss rod or a real cheapy neck that would probably fail anyway sooner or later. Bass necks are tougher than you think, watch Fender testing their necks before assembly by bending them an astonishing amount about 2 minutes in:
Was that the actual 'Wayne's World' show?
 22.
http://www.vintagean...tz-CAB-23-25979 I think a name change would be in order
Stolen! But would it be wrong of me to say I now have a bad case of Cuntz GAS?
 23.
Or a bar pole J, the cheap covered ones should do it.

Bar magnet type.
'scuse my daftness, but is that these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAIR-OF-BASS-GUITAR-PICKUPS-JAZZ-HOT-RAIL-5-STRING-NEW-JP-PICKUP-BRIDGE-NECK-/400303187981?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item5d33ede80d
 24. It seems unemployment is disagreeing with me, cos I gets a bit bored today and decides this here Jazz ain't got enough strings. A no-name MM-alike from the far east has nobly laid down it's life for science. So what do I stick in the big gaping hole? A J5 or get me big hammer out again and stick another MM-type in? This is where I need the advice - If I get another MM, will it matter that the taper means the strings won't be over the poles? Will it sound gash with one of those in anyway? It'll be staying passive for now, awaiting earning enough coin to rid it of that vile bridge! What would you lot do? Or simply press 'back' for the "...like I care, dickhead..." option.
 25. It is only a criminal offence if your bass ends up damaged in any way. Use his guitar instead.
