1.
I'm afraid it doesn't get any clearer... I have seen these referred to as DynaBasses, but I don't know if that's correct. IIRC the only references I could find to DynaBasses online were about the late 80s model(s), which are totally different. The upshot is I haven't a clue, but I agree that they are excellent basses for the money, so that's what counts, innit?
In that case, these are super-rare, super-sexy, super-sought-after basses and the one at the top of the page is an amazing bargain. In future, can everyone start paying no less than £2500 for them, please? Worth a try, innit? Did I mention I have an orange one? It's not for sale but if this works it might be! Oh, alright, then. Just fetching my coat...
  2.
thanks, looks like quite a nice bass for the money. No idea what it sounds like but looks like it should be much more expensive!
They're great to play, if you go on to (shameless plug, sorry!) http://double-vision-band.co.uk I'm playing my old black 4 on 'Just Like Heaven' and the Coldplay one. I apologise in advance if this has made you sit through Coldplay under duresse!
  3.
See, I thought that the "International Series" label was just signifying that they were non-US made. I also have a Milestone 3 (jazz style) and that has the International label on it as well as the model name. edit to add: there are also International Series guitars, drumkits etc.
Well, that's just me confused now, I didn't know it was on other stuff. I always thought the Dyna was different, so is it a Dyna model then?
  4. That there's an International, I've had the four string in that very colour and am currently making my orange five string keep me in diesel. I bought my black four off the shelf for £170 about 4 years ago but that's around the time they stopped making them. I paid £130 for an immaculate 5er about 2 years ago. I love 'em!!
  5. Big fan of Great White but the original's certainly the better version, Hunter really gets across the been-there-done-it attitude in the song.
  6. OK, I have been trying to resist, but just can't! It's neither Anglo nor American, but it's not exactly Eastern. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh9TtrWR9_M sorry sorry sorry, but I can't stop myself sometimes!!

    Hello

Yorrite, Aye! Unless you're in the top left hand corner, in which case Y'Kay!
  12.
I depped for a band, straight ahead pub rock stuff, only one bass moment in two hours, which I put a lot of work in for, learning the songs in funny keys because of the singer. Got to Alright Now, it's a well worn tune true but it is a fantastic bass moment just before the long full edit guitar solo, but he doubles the bass line before the foot on the monitor bit. Annoyed.
This. Both bands - both rhythm guitarists start playing the only good bit of the song BEFORE the solo starts properly. Most Annoying!!!
  13.
I use my penis on slow songs. Truckstop
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=houU6FjEnaI
  14. It's all Blackfoot's fault. Saw them a few years ago and the boy Walker's bass was making the whole hillside we were standing on vibrate, and I thunk to meself 'want me some of THAT!!' Came home 2 days later and bought a bass, couldn't afford an amp so just made a lead to plug it into my stereo ( ) and sat in the corner making an unholy racket until I got a tune out of it. Had to take it back round to the bloke I bought it off 3 days later to ask him to tune it for me - didn't even know there was such a thing as a tuner! I constantly amaze myself that I am capable of doing complicated stuff like walking and breathing at the same time!!!
  15. All of which goes to show that basses sound like basses sound like basses. I can't even tell the difference between my no-name P-copy and my Peev 5 if I don't use the B string. So if you lot can't tell, no-one in an audience ever would. Basses, see, they sound like basses! And I'm stickin' to it!
  16. I reckon you could do a lot worse than a Cirrus for that money, but as ever I am not qualified to speak about anything ever and should be ignored.
  17.
Some times the bass player can be the "cool" guy at the back who just stands there and plays his part...
Isn't that what they're all doing? Or have I missed something?
  18. Both recorded with a Rock Band USB Microphone and Audacity, its easy to use but has major flaws, such as its hard to figure out how to record over part of a track, without having to do it on a new track (We still havent figured it out) Liam
Why would you want to do that? (unless I've missed the point!)
  19. This is so 'Not My Thing' it's unreal. But I love it! Love It, Love It, Love It!!! I may even actually relieve myself of 79p for once! Ace!!!
  20.
like the upfront bass, unfortunatley the rest of my band would soon veto a mix like that
To be fair, it's only cos there's not a lot of proper lead guitar-type stuff going on in those 2 songs. This would be more the norm, I was just feeling good about being up front! 21.
Another one of those bass players I largely ignored until I matured as a musician (is that possible? ) and only more recently discovered how great he actually was
+ the large one!
  22. ...and one for the natives... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hh9TtrWR9_M...feature=related
  23. If yer in North Wales and need yerselves recording, just remember these words... Russ...OrangeSound...Penmaenmawr. He is a sickeningly clever man, and damned personable with it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRClBOGo6IU
  24. Are them there pink daisy basses actually any good? This thread has made me want one. Playing one of those whilst developing a convincing Wilko Johnson stare would quieten the worst of the hecklers!
