  2. A Gen 1 Sire M2 and one of the new Squier Sonic Broncos.
  3. Of course it failed, babies don't have the strength to cope with Thunderbird neck dive. If you'd used a Jazz bass back then, at the end of this month you'd be stood at the side of the stage watching them headline Glastonbury.
  4. For Sale listing is not the place for this so I'll contact you via PM 👍
  5. New Yorkie New Yorkie - Frank Sinatra
  6. £275 tempt anyone?
  7. I have a rehearsal in a couple of days and a gig next weekend. Needed to move quickly. I did see a few bits of Trace gear nearby (the one you linked is about 3.5hrs away so could be in China for all it's worth), but a lot of it I think wouldn't meet the "can be shifted by me alone" criteria. That said, I'll keep an eye out in the future.
  8. This operaation is very doable with a pillar drill, yes. You need to attach the neck solidly, and then it is a straightforward action. To attach the inserts, it is also easy with that pillar drill, because you can keep the inserts straight. Here it is done by hand, but you get the idea.

  10. Really great clinic IMO, they’re kinda the bass duo that I didn’t know I needed, polar opposites in some respects and that plays off against one another very well. They’re also very similar in many respects, so it was interesting to see that come out. I’m glad that in didn’t just turn into a HX Stomp ‘how to’, it was essentially one big Q&A from the start, and there were some great conversation and playing as a result. It was a little over 2 hours, but could quite easily have been longer….but a big band needed the room to sound check haha. 10/10 would watch again! Si
  11. Shame you won't post, I would have it. too far away to collect.
  12. If they are long scale which l presume they are l'll take these please. Cheers.
  13. @Geek99 I don't have any hardwood rod (or softwood rod) or dowels of any description. I also don't feel confident about drilling into a real (and nice) Fender neck to make the right sized holes even with a pillar drill. I've never done that sort of thing before. I'd need to support the neck properly to ensure an accurate vertical drill and if I cocked it up, I'd be gutted. Somethings worry me and this is one of them Rob
  14. Looks like that's been fitted by a previous owner, using a Pickguardian surround. Neck unit's absolutely not an SD. And read this - from 2009 so unfortunately pics are gone - a post from a member called Darkstrike actually points out that the Anniversary doesn't have SDs. Had a quick dig & found a pic of a stock Anniversary.
  15. 8 years later.............do you by any chance still own & use this amp? If so, how does it compare with more modern amps? If not, what did you purchase to replace it with? Thanks.

  19. For those in doubt about the Seymour Duncan pickups. https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1360217
  20. I've also heard about studies around the world investigating claims that the demand over the years for lightweight bass guitars could be the reason that some people do not develop a psoas minor back muscle. Use it or lose it, someone used to say, I think?
  21. Hi Itu, hope you're well. I'd have this back like a shot if it were a four string and a narrower neck - it's a real player.
  22. Yup, from a small music shop in paisley, I own many Rickenbacker basses so I had to try the thing out, bloody awful, it did have Seymour Duncan pickups, whether people believe it or not, didn’t really make any difference as the bass was a pile of junk, I sold it for almost nothing to a youngster who was desperate to have a Rick lookalike to play in his band, the brand was Anniversary made in China. It looked exactly like the bass in the picture, neck, tailpiece etc. exaggerated Body shape out of proportion of course .
  23. I've been playing the guitar for many years but never has anyone ever called me a guitarist or anything remotely referencing musical talent. They say things like; 'Are you still into your music?'. No refence to ability, or hint of appreciation. Proof me thinks. I do have lots and lots of plectrums that are too thin for some reason. Anyway, my bass weighs 12kg (26.5 pounds), or 60000 carat, and has over 7kg of neck dive weight alone. Beat that.
  24. Could really do with moving this on as my half pay kicks in next week!
  25. Can’t really go any lower on this, I’m afraid. Someone must want one of these lovely things.
  26. Boredom ~ Buzzcocks
