Ultimately, we lost some sales from this but gained a life-long following from those who appreciated it. Yes, the Bass 400+ was also a fairly extreme example of this which is why we refined the original circuit to make it more player friendly but it still has some of the iconic quirks.

After much agonising, poring over spec sheets and countless YT videos I spotted a used pair of SE7s (advertised on FB marketplace locally by, as it turned out, the drummer in my last band - small world!) and have bought them. He tells me he used them exactly once and they’ve been in their box ever since and, looking at them, I believe him. Bargain at well under a hundred quid. 😀

just drop a few f and c bombs ... im sure theyll figure out some alternative quickly enough hope this helps

It's an art form in itself if it can be tailored to the crowd and event. The worse on stage patter though is in-band jokes that noone else gets.

I've just bought a Darkglass Microtubes x Ultra from Nigel. Polite, responsive and quick to send out! I would definitely buy again Thanks for dealing with a relative newbie.

thegregga started following Barefaced Super Twin 1200w Bass Cab + Custom Cover
-
If you know Barefaced, you’ll know these are ridiculously powerful for their size and hard to find on the market. This one’s the Super Twin – 1200w handling, 2x12, loads of punch and clarity, and can happily keep up with anything you throw at it. Despite the power it’s light enough to carry one-handed (about 18kg), plus it’s got pop-out wheels and well-placed handles, so it’s genuinely easy to move about. Perfect for gigging without breaking your back. Bonus – comes with the official custom Barefaced cover, which fits like a glove and keeps it well protected between rehearsals and gigs. Condition-wise, it’s in full working order and sounds fantastic. Just a couple of small cosmetic knocks (as you’d expect from a gigging cab) but nothing that affects performance. Specs: • 1200w RMS / 4 ohm • 2x 12XN Barefaced drivers • Approx. 18kg • Tilt-back wheels + strap handles • 74 × 48 × 34 cm • Includes custom Barefaced cover These retail at around £1,400 new without the cover. Collection prefer but happy to discuss delivery/meet-up within reason. Any questions, just give me a shout!

Oh - Ive also had anothet delivery from Overseas which I forgot to put on here. See if you can spot it?

Body finished with Cosmoslac rattle cans, never used it before so was a bit of an experiment - so far so good

The drummer in the covers band I play in does the between-song banter. Over the years it's become an integral part of the show because he's genuinely funny and the audience responds well to it. Sometimes it's so funny I have to really focus on the intro to the song rather than his chat. None of it is scripted, it's always different, it works. I'm not a fan of the chat between songs generally, I like a bare minimum, head down, play songs, thankyouverymuchgoodnight but in this band with that specific guy, it's magic. When I'm editing the live show recordings, I trim out the chat where I can but it always makes me laugh out loud when I'm editing it especially if I catch something I missed on the night. So, to answer the OP question. It depends. Sorry.

Mohini is the real deal. Absolute monster player, and she can do a lot more than just flashy Youtube-oriented onanism. She's in Willow Smith's band and they do some very interesting stuff - Willow has obviously moved on significantly from "Whip My Hair". And her other band, DarWin, are pretty bloody good as well, if you like melodic prog rock.

Ellen is great. I subscribe to her YouTube channel. I also subscribe to the SBL channel and have seen the Mohini Dey video and was seriously blown away by her.

AndyTravis started following Hartke HA5500

Hello. I have had this since March 2024, it’s a classic old Hartke HA5500 in a sleeve case. It works well and is loud. the tolex is scruffy. I suspect it won’t be a difficult item to re cover if you’re arsed. i have a pack of spare knobs and Fader covers and I think a spare valve. The fan is a bit noisy - they always were on these so might benefit from a clean out or replacement…but it works and doesn’t get hot. Came from a studio in Newcastle. Can ship at buyers risk, probably £25 or so. any questions? Google ‘em 😆😉 (not really…just ask) Its at my studio in Manchester so I’d have to collect it before shipping. Nice thing, but I’ve replaced it with a new Evo600 thing so I don’t need it xxx

Thanks for all the replies. I’ve solved it now with a very technical process known as ‘pushing it in all the way’ 🙄. In my defence the jack input on the new guitar seems a bit more snug. Also, I am a moron.

Given the topic title I thought this belonged here as well as it is what I thought when I watched this - some people are just born to play!

Our singer/guitarist handles the announcements but we all chip in, off mic, when we are inspired. Usually for the purposes of urine extraction.

So once you have made a set of tones you want to use with this amp, do you need bluetooth or a footswitch to access them? Can you access a range of presets without those things, or does it have (I assume it doesn't) midi in any way to switch?

Sounds like the sort of thing all kids should be exposed to!
