  1. Past hour
  2. Looking forward to finding out more! What is the arpeggiator like on F1-4. Any clips? It's one of the features that's keeping me tied to the SY-200 currently
  3. A while back I was looking for a 1U power amp for my bass rack and Powersoft came up many times as there weren't many 1U sized amps with decent power ratings coming up. But i decided against due to needing a shallow rack and they were lots of £'s. Even used. All the best with the sale.
  4. Lots to like for not much money. GLWTS
  5. Never had a strap fail (yet) though I did once enjoy something like this on stage at a jam:
  6. Very nice - is it passive?
  7. Apologies for duff pics, hard to arrange them well. By vintage 70s, take that as newish but not actually from a CBS era Fender. Fender badged Schaller machine heads configured 4 in line but as you'll see from the back on the main pic, there's a plate to enable left hand configuration if disassembled. I haven't done this on these but I have previously on Schallers. Labelled 'W Germany ' so date wise they're post reunification of Germany I guess! 9/10 condition. UK only, £60 posted. Thanks for viewing Martin
  8. I've fitted Dunlop Strap Locks to every bass since the mid 80's and have never had a problem with any of them.
  9. See my reply above. Similar situation.
  10. I prefer knobs on top too. Easy to glance down and make adjustments on the fly.
  11. Made to be affordable but I think with the Foundry guitar series they went a little too far. Shame as Laney have some great amps
  12. D!ckheads, idiots, narcissists, tw*ts, I've played with them all, and it can become very tiresome, but I've been gigging solidly via word of mouth for the last 20 years. You can't do that sitting at home, so I've learnt to live with the 10% of people I don't like in order to do the things I do like with the other 90%.
  13. Ha! Today I learned
  14. Its interesting that Dunlop straplocks have been mentioned in relation to this. I do some work with a guitarist who has Dunlop straplocks on all his guitars and the only ones that have failed (repeatedly) have been fitted to Les Pauls. The top horn position. We have never been able to figure out why. They click into place OK and seem tight (we can't pull them out of the button) but once he's stood in playing position it only takes a few minutes for it to fail. Tried a couple of sets with the same result. He's got quite heavy leather straps so maybe the weight has something to do with it. Having said that he's got the same type straps and Dunlop straplocks on his V and Explorer and they are secure with no problems. Its very odd.
  15. £10 off now, so £170 posted or £165 collected from SW13
  16. Could someone who has the pedal please answer this? How does the portamento behave when you leave gaps between consecutive notes? Is the portamento gated? i.e. does the pitch transition pause when you leave a space in between the notes and pick up again as soon as you play another note, or does the pitch transition continue in the background. You can test by doing the following: Set portamento to maximum. Play 20th fret on G (Eb) then (taking care to mute the other strings) play the open E. Note how long the transition takes. Now, play the high Eb again and stop. Leave a pause equal to or longer than the time the pitch transition took last time. Now, play the low E. Is there still portamento happening or does the note play cleanly without pitch transition?
  17. Not many people know this, but I've got a time machine. I've just popped forward to 2029 to see what's going on there. A few things happening: 1. The USA has repealed the Declaration of Independence and is now known as 'Western Surrey'. 2. Joey Essex has just been elevated to the House of Lords. 3. You're buying all your basses back. Seriously though... it's always sad when factors cause one to fall out of love with anything, especially music. I really hope your new project brings you the enjoyment that your current one doesn't. Just don't sell everything.
  18. Top bass player and top bloke, the bash will be all the better for his attendance.
  19. Guns n Roses last night in Sofia Bulgaria. Absolutely superb!
  20. Chris Childs (Bassist for 'Thunder' and busy working session player) has indicated that he would love to attend 👍
  21. I’ve just sold my jazz Bitsa bass to Ash. Great guy to deal with. Good communication throughout. Happy to recommend him to all in the Basschat community 👍
  22. How I was using it for the project, which was a glorious sound indeed, I'll get some pics up with the original neck later today
  23. Pics of the SKB case Handle/wheels Laptop/tablet sits in the top section, mixer sits in the rack space below. A bit old and shabby but a nice way of moving this unit around 👍 Previous owner installed a DIY cable router
  24. Today
  25. Kiwi, sorry to bug you when there's so much to be done. Can I please ask why these ones have wooden boards and not the peek of the other necks? Would it be best to have a central discussion thread for all of these questions, and then keep the separate threads just for ordering? I wonder if you've already answered the above somewhere where I can't see it and I'm sure none of us want to waste your time answering.
