  2. Seconded, as a non-vegetarian. Ground up bone filings smell absolutely vile.
  3. A lot of what you said make sense but as bassists that run our band’s PA some of this is out of the question. For example I don’t run any outboard and the AK CQ20 does not include multi and compression and even if I would like to, I would not have time to set up a multi-band compressor. I have found that some of the factory pre-sets, especially for male and female vocals are great starting points, and in an ideal world we could all run a sound check with pink noise even before the “live” sound check. So what are your absolute basics?
  4. Is this £50 or £55 including postage?

  6. There are some boutique pedals that offer various ways of blending-in the dry signal (both Eras and Ages by Walrus or Mandrake by KMA), but Blue Colander's approach is slightly different, probably because Juliusz always has bass players in mind. Both of his additional knobs make the pedals perfect for bass players indeed. Clockwise rotation of Jolt in Doppel adds undistorded LOWS to the mix, which not only prevents the loss of lower frequencies, but also magically emphasizes the oomph of all the dirt instead of pushing it to the background. Range on Crooked Axis seemingly does the same but works the opposite way - dimed it offers the actual amount of clean lows and turning it counterclockwise removes the low frequencies from the distortion (but not from the mix).
  7. Ooohh that is so nice and what a great price for a bass like this. I do love a nice Jazz. GLWTS Dave
  8. She sells sanctuary? Blinding tune to play if you embellish the middle eight
  9. Awesome bit of kit that has helped me play my bass and my Novation Bass Synth through the same signal path. I've used it as two inputs routed to one out, but can also direct one input to two outs. Really superb utility pedal for your studio / pedal board. Fully working and in great condition. £45 with postage to be added. Probably £5, or collect from Warwick. Thanks,

  13. Dave, I think going into 2026 blues rock is going to become more and more of a challenge. I doubt I could pivot to a top tier party cover band. Daryl

  15. I put the East pre in as the fender one was so average. The East is such a great addition.
  16. It's handy. It's also powerful enough to play gigs, it sounds good, it's got a very quiet, useable DI. Records well. And I'll say it's solid money that the only person who cares about a better sounding amp is you, not any audience you'll ever play for. It's just a solid little, unremarkable piece. As it happens, this came along down my trail cheap, and I like the simplicity of it. And I can take it out of the little cab it's in and drop it in the gig bag for a jam or recording session, and it's easy to travel with (put it in my shaving kit). Nothing about it is really compelling, but it's about the size of a SanSamp BDDI, which is pretty cool.
  17. Wife got me these for Christmas. Didnt realise they both do the same thing lol. And this after me just getting a Valeton GP-50 🙄. FB 200 going back to Amazon.
  18. There's plenty. That Ali-Ex store I mentioned earlier, B2 mould Accessories, no prizes what sector they cater to 😀 Google 1.1mm fine cut file, you'll get similar outfits in the UK; I got 3 hits couple of hours ago. Watchmaker's files, jeweller's saw are another option. Knife edge carbide needle files yet another. Decide on what sizes you need, 1.1mm/1.2mm/1.7mm etc then do a search.
  19. I have a very nice Euro LT5 for sale in the for sale section, if you're still looking!
  20. Sorry to hear that Owen 😕 I do hope things work out for you
  21. That was my impression. 3/4 sales must outnumber 4/4 sales by a fairly large margin. Better to shift 4/4 to make room for stock that sells.
  22. I am all for this inside info. But who are they?
  23. This is an amazing bass, I love Sterlings and the 5 is very special. This one looks a peach. A great price too. I'd jump at the chance if had the funds and didn't already have one. Anyone tempted should snap this up. GLWTS.
  24. Just re-read your OP and noticed ‘read tab fluently’. I think that’s quite unusual, but unfortunately not that useful (in this context). With one tribute band I have had the keyboard player send me the ‘bass pad’ in standard notation, to learn before the gig; otherwise I’ve been expected to learn the set myself.
