  2. Can't Keep It In - Cat Stevens
  3. Just a slight bump, I really don't want to start advertising this on ebay/reverb 😅 Happy to answer any questions of course.
  4. Which is what you were after - result!
  5. Same here (year and model), even though I don't play 4s any more except the odd open mic night when I take it for a run out.
  6. Hi, Beautiful bass ! What’s the weight ?
  7. For Sale is an Origin Effects DCX Bass preamp/overdrive pedal. Great sounding and versatile pedal from Origin Effects, giving sounds inspired by the UA 610 tube preamp. This pedal is really happy anywhere in. signal-chain, giving always on character at the start of a pedal board, shaping everything at the end, or as an overdrive/distortion effect. Very well designed and put together, making it really hard to get a bad sound out of this pedal. For Sale - £199 incl. postage and packaging to UK & Ireland (get in touch if needing postage further afield).
  8. For Sale is this wonderful Khan VTDI. Wonderful tube preamp, that has served me incredibly well both live and in the studio. Sound amazing on bass as well as most other sources - a real go-to DI box in the studio. All in perfect working order, and sounding as wonderful as you would expect. Some scratches and marks to the enclosure that you can see in the pictures. This is a spare, that I no longer require. Price is £450 - not looking for trades at this time. Will come with an IEC power cable. Happy to sort postage to the UK & Ireland, let me know if you are further afield and I can sort price...etc.

  9. Tight Pants - Buckcherry
  10. Head Rush MX5 Amp modeller, multi effects, etc , basically brand new, not a mark on the unit, complete with power supply and box . Great for bass. Will post pics of actual unit when home . £250 please check out my feedback .
  11. Don’t forget that the Ashdown preshape button works ‘the other way around’ I.e. you press it in to defeat the preshape not to enable the preshape. That caught me out for years before someone on here helpfully pointed this out. Press that button in to get rid of the inherent boominess.
  12. Yeah he was a trailblazer in the 90s, making music like a laptop creator years before those technological possibilities were realised. Plus he could write folk songs like an old man 🤯
  13. Hi all, I have decided to part ways with this wonderfully versatile Flyrig V2. I am doing quite of lot of gigs which requires a more vintage sound and the Sansamp / SVT sound, whilst great and I do see it's merits and place, just doesn't work as well in the setting I am currently in. I know I can use it without the Sansamp sound but then what is the point of that!? I may as well just have a DI box... It's immaculate, with original PSU, tin and instructions. Some great instant sounds and being the version 2, you have the effects loop plus extra controls and channel settings on the sansamp. I used it the other night and it performed flawlessly, but it just doesn't suit what I am doing and can't afford to have multiple pedals laying around. The octafilter is a funny one but I found it to be really usable. Definitely worth a look at the tutorial videos online from Tech 21 to see how to get the best from it. £190 to your door, would be happy to look at a straight swap for a Microbass 3, or discuss a deal with something similar but I would like something with an FX loop so I know that limits my options. It isn't a deal breaker but is preferred.
  14. Quantic? Not sure what that is. If you mean quantum then no, otherwise it could have both values at the same time
  15. when you’re doing a show like Coldplay, Swift or U2 it’s simply too big to fail, so they have multiple backups. It’s only logical this would happen. You’re paying for the collective experience more than the musicianship. That’s always been the case.

  17. Ditto. One of my fave basses, the ATK is 5.22kg and one of my SR 6 strings, just on 5kg. I haven't played a 4 hour set in ages, but I have stood practicing and writing with both on a strap for that long. No, as I still have a 1x15 and a 2x15 from the 80s and 70s respectively, but I like the ease of air movement that larger drivers have. I agree with the earlier comments about dispersion, but for 40y I've gotten around that with multi way cabs as I've preferred a clean wideband speaker that I can EQ to my tastes, not just having it baked in and smothering like an old Ampeg. These days with multiFX and modellers, I can make my cabs sound like just about anything, good enough for me and anyone else except for maybe the one old tone cork sniffer I might run into every few years. The cab currently under construction is a 15 + 8 coax, in 2 boxes so it will fit into the back of my sedan. This adds a little weight to the total, but it's 2 smaller boxes so each are easier to manhandle and the coax can be raised on a stick to ear height. I designed it for what I wanted as there aren't any commercial boxes available, new or S/H that do what I want.
  18. So this is what happened. I read all the valued inputs here (apart from the one about all amps are dead🤣) and got a shortlist. The list was Agi AG700; GR One; Eich T900. Planned a trip to Bass Gallery for a start, they have 2 of those so a fair start. But I had a look on Reverb just in case. Just happened to find a mint Eich T 900 so I got it. This way I own it a while (maybe longer) and really get to know it. If I find I have any doubts I sell it on at a small loss and try one of the others. I think this makes fair sense - the effort of taking my bass up to Camden then compromising on a similar cab (they don't have any Vanderkeley 210s in) and make a hasty judgement in a shop... better than buying blind but not at all ideal. This way I get to use it for as long as it takes to be sure. SO FAR: Bloody amazed!. Had it a week, done 2 rehearsals no gigs yet. I have not even touched the EQ yet, it's all set flat. I've had a play with the taste control (basically a tilt control) and like that a lot. Early impressions are it suits the cabs very well, it's really detailed and clean but in no way sterile. Think I'll do a review of the rig soon, but very happy - how I think my PJ sounds, but louder. Thanks to all for sharing knowledge and experience, it got me to here and I am very happy👍
  19. Hit Me With Your Best Shorts - Pat Benetar
  20. Simply the Vest - Tina Turner
  21. Get Your Socks Off - Primal Scream
  22. Bought this quite recently from Jay-synchro here, as a temp head while I pondered a bigger commitment to drive my pair of 210s. Frankly I was shocked! - and I've gigged with it a few times happily. Plenty of power but what surprised me was the clean, punchy sound. These heads are way better than their small size and price suggest. This is the V2 300W (into 4 ohms, around 160/170 into 8 ohms) and it definitely has the power and headroom to handle average pub/club gigs with any decent cab. I have been running it flat eq most of the time, with small bass and mid adjustments to various rooms. Complete as sold new:, box, manual, midi lead, kettle lead. All in virtually as new condition. Offered for less than I paid (that's fair I think) and a little over half new price. Happily ship UK at cost (around £6 I expect).

  23. I hadn't heard of hearthis. I will be in a similar position to you later this year where I'll need to share some works in progress and I was totally put off setting up a new SoundCloud account, so I will give it a look
  24. Lightly used rubber knobs fitted briefly to my JT bass. These are standard fit for Canadian-made basses and very nice! You can only see four sleeves in the picture but trust me there are five! These are £100 new for the set, so £75 posted seems fair.
  25. Still sealed, US only released tribute to the Wicked Pickett. Features Steve Cropper, Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie), and many others. Recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and only just released. £10 posted UK. Now £8 now £6
