  1. Past hour
  2. Almost certainly Yes. The default (detente) position is at 12 o'clock which is "mild" pitch correction ... only someone with acute hearing will spot that it's even happening. I tend to keep mine set at 1 o'clock which is - obvs - a bit more aggressive, but then I'm using it in front of a harmoniser pedal. If you can find your way to Harrow, you're welcome to come and try out my selection.
  3. Eyes Without A Face - Billy Idol
  4. I think I might be out: Toltec pickups bought for both my AM Standard Jazz and Vintera Jazz Custom vintage TRC and PG bought for the Ric 4003 I've zero plans to buy any more basses for the foreseeable..
  5. i tried to do some sounds on my phone but it didn’t show the variations that can be obtained

  9. Sydney is a s---hole. I avoid it at all costs. Only place worse is Canberra.
  10. The song was originally recorded by Betsy Cook. Paul Young's version became notable for Palladino's creative bass work. https://basslessons.be/transcriptions.php?i=1130
  11. Is it an old one?
  12. Excellent album! Thank you
  13. Excellent condition, fully working. Price includes postage
  14. Well. Hopefully he’ll do something a bit more notable than recent entries…although I had a soft spot for Sam Ryder’s 2nd place song Spaceman in 2022/3 (can’t remember the year)
  15. Today
  16. Me too! Until April last year I'd been in a blues rock trio playing that exact stuff, plus Hendrix, Jeff Healey and a few fun obscurities (check out Lonnie Mack's later output), for the previous 5 years. The music I grew up listening to and the most enjoyable band I've ever played with. The guitarist pulled the plug for reasons the drummer and I have not got to the bottom of. Probably spoilt me for doing anything else - I'm 68 now and unlikely to find another band I would enjoy that much. Then again, I don't miss the late nights.
  17. Brilliant. Carole Kaye did the same thing and ... I mean ... between the two of them, they played on quite a lot of records so they did know what they were doing.
  18. I love it - but I'm not thrilled that certain entries have been allowed in at the moment. And I wonder what on earth the organisers will do if they win.
  19. Yep. More or less any Yamaha instrument, at any price point, is going to be a step above anything else at that level. My son plays the trumpet, and he has a Yamaha. I'm no expert on brass instruments, but it's well made, has a sweetness to the sound, can get "raggy" in a good way when you go hard and it was inexpensive compared to other comparable instruments. We have a Yamaha electric piano too, and it's great. I've played cheap Pacificas that put Fenders that cost more than double the price to shame. And the BB range of basses are brilliant instruments and always have been - classic, yet distinctive. I seem to be talking myself into getting a Yammy. I am in need of something passive, with four strings right now (my current stable is all active 5- and 6-strings) and a BB is top of my list...
  20. What a gorgeous sounding Stingray and the story behind it is fascinating. Looks amazing with the black pick guard. GLWTS Dave
  21. The old isobaric cabs, the ones with two drivers in but only one facing out of the cab were heavy, in fact much heavier than they looked.
  22. I never really "got" Eurovision til last year, when I watched it as an entertainment show rather than as a music show, and really enjoyed it. A def sign that I`ve gotten old methinks.
  23. Might help with confidence
  24. And thwow him to the fwoor!
