  2. Lad? Luxury, when I were an Australopithecus... ☺️
  3. Thanks @WinterMute! I think it’s because I played Warwick 5-strings for so many years with their tight string spacing. Wasn’t the sound I was ultimately looking for though; which is a particular shame as this bass sounds exactly the way I want but I can’t quite get my hands round it without drastically changing my technique. And of course most Jazz-style 5-stringers have 19mm spacing. My current main 5-string is a Ken Smith Burner which is 17.5mm and much easier for me to get around. I’ll be sad to see this one go though; it sounds amazing
  4. Thank you! All this time and I had never noticed the URL! Yup, it comes to the best of us! 👴🏻👴🏻 😂
  5. Cabinet technology not so much, but driver technology for sure. You may be able to greatly increase performance replacing it. I can make recommendations knowing the exact internal dimensions of the cab and port. An 8 ohm cab is best, allowing you to use two should the need arise, although with a 100 watt amp it probably would not.
  6. I just added a transformer to the preamp so the balanced output is working now too. soundsamples will follow soon now!
  7. … these really are fantastic pedals, had a good play with my one last night and it sounded lovely!
  8. Indeed: please change the click bait thread title, @Sean It's not funny, and even if this was not on purpose, I have no words ...
  9. Agreed but it's not just Dingwall who've done this. Spector's fanfret Dimension bass, which is a similar price has similar individual bridge mounts which although not as extreme as the Dingwall offering, aren't as high quality as the Payson or even their own standard bridges.
  10. ...which I think I sold because someone on Basschat told me it wasn't a very good cab 🤣
  11. Could be. The lead guitarist in one of my bands was struggling with intonation on his PRS. After many visits to the luthier, they decided it was the fret height PRS use combined with his string gauge and the strength of his grip. He went up a string gauge and tried to use a lighter touch. It improved things a lot but occasionally I think we sound a bit chorusy. Nobody else notices but it does make me check my bass tuning a lot.

  14. I bought these for a project that never happened, in good condition, £90 including delivery to UK addresses
  15. ....and while we're at it, given the thread title, it took me quite a long time to find a cab that sounded as good to my ear as my 1990's Peavey 15
  16. I had the HA3000 before getting the HA5500, preferred the 3000 really as it was so easy to dial mids in with the two knobs.
  17. didn't the originals have a tilt EQ and a switch to set the tilt point?
  18. I had no idea a factory fretless version even existed! I am having GAS pangs over this, but sadly the one fretless I already own barely gets played. GLWTS!
  19. Change the click bait thread title.
  20. If only I lived in South Shields or within a few hundred miles. Great cabs!
  21. Lots of frets though It's a beauty. GLWTS
  22. So I finally finished my initial attempt at relic'ing and the creation of a 70s inspired p bass with TV logo. It's not a heavy relic as i didn't have the confidence to go all out, but I really like the vintage amber nitro on the neck and headstock... I'm hoping it will wear pretty quick and leave a dirty bare wood underneath... something I may help along it's way with a bit more research... So it started out as a standard squire VM p bass... now it certainly has a well worn in vibe to it... it certainly won't fool anyone but I like it! In time, I think I will look for some aged tuners and bridge as well... Or nickel hardware I can age with some Iron Chloride!
  23. Can The Cannon - Suzi Quatro
  24. I had a Harke HA4000 head with 210 & 115 XL cabs, was a truly awesome sounding set-up, but as the amp was flight-cased (with rack tuner & wireless kit) it was all a bit too much for me so moved it on. The HA4000 was amazing, had parametric mids so could really shape the sound nicely.
