😭x1000 And there's me having already sorted out my raffle prize donation for this year. Seriously though... Mike, I cannot put into words how much I (and I'm sure I speak for all of us here) appreciate all the hard work you and Gabs and the Scrumpettes have put into the BFSWBBes over the years. I've only missed one, and spent the whole of that day feeling like I was missing a limb. As an aside, I've been looking into hall hire etc round this way, and the cheapest I could find was smaller, less convenient (i.e. closer to houses) and 30 quid more expensive than the full rate for Cheddon would be. The place was perfect.

Is that any worse though, than the sound of multiple cutlery drawers being flung down a stone stair well which is the default noise produced at bass shows?

Hi @Chienmortbb Any updates or reviews of your PA system performance? How are the Typhon 8's complementing the Citronic Casa 10BA? Really interested in your views and feedback.
-
I do, let me plug them in and see what my thoughts are. My gut says that I prefer the OC-2 as that’s just what I tend to grab if I need an octave. I should also add that I have a few OC-2’s and my favourite is an ‘83 Octaver. So they do vary a bit.

I did look and I think it was 3. I fail to understand the public’s fascination with novelty songs. That said, I really don’t like Jack Black either and how he gets any work at all amazes me. ‘Twas ever thus. -

I agree, it's completely rational and perfectly justified hatred. I'd put it on the same level as Bennie Hills "Fastest Milkman in the West". Mind you that song might come in in the Top 100, so we need to be careful for what we wish for. Rob -

I bought a tuner from John. A seamless transaction and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again

I wonder if bluetooth that works consistently is a better idea than wifi that is so inconsistent that you have to take a separate router? As it happens I have a Flow 8 sitting next to me which I use at home. to date I've had zero problems with the Bluetooth even in the next room. Using this mixer I think I'd only need the remote option when setting up just to check FOH once the gig started I'd have the physical controls on stage with me. You wouldn't expect it to compete with A&H the CQ12 is £150 more expensive and the physical controls more limited. Yamaha do mixers with a similar ability to do everything with Physical controls but these are way more than double the price of the Alto. Price wise it fits into the Behringer X18 sort of bracket and a few other stagebox mixers.

Agree, one of my completely rational hatreds is Tenacious D -
I second that emotion!

It would be interesting to actually know how many people voted for each song, considering there's 'thousands of YOU, our esteemed listeners' voting; also one person, one vote? Even if 10,000 people were remotely bothered enough to vote, potentially some of the tunes here would be getting single digit votes. Also, by observation, there's an awful lot of ballads and questionable song choices there, too. That Tenacious D scores higher than Black Hole Sun, Seven Seas of Rhye, Little Wing etc. is quite telling how absolute pants these lists are. -

A friend of mine really rates this guy - Arcane Inc: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275125011618?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=GOw3zDQySve&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=QkJzkCkfTu2&stype=1&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY A period correct clone of a 1957 P Bass Pickup, he's done a load of research into differeing winds. Serious attention to detail. I wonder though - have you completely eliminated the possibility that it's the string? Some times there can be manufacturing issue, or ensuring there is a good bend at the witness point bridge and nut can sometimes solve issues? This is a good guide: https://www.stewmac.com/video-and-ideas/tool-demo-videos/strings-and-accessories-videos/daddario-core-how-to-restring-an-electric-bass-guitar/ -

IHere's my excellent Eden 300 watt bass cab. It's well used but works perfectly. It's not too heavy but will need to be cash on collection. I would like £100 please. No trades thanks. It's pictured paired with my Ashdown Mag 400 head. Both are priced to at £100 each. If you buy both together you can have them for £150.
-
I know what you mean! Might have to keep an eye on future sales...

Good to hear the MS-02 is up to gigs. I got my singer a set for Christmas. When we set them up at home with the XR18 in stereo, running a virtual soundcheck from the recoding of the last gig, she said ‘and whats the difference from my U4?’ 🙄 We did notice a bit of cutting out as she was handling it. Not signal as such, it seemed the output jack was a bit cutting out. We were using headphones with a chunky jack so i put it down to that.

Somehow £170 seems quite expensive now

Here's my excellent Made in England bass head. It's rock solid, heavy, and sounds great. I'm not playing now because of Arthritis so it needs to go. This will need to be cash on collection please. No trades. I live in Catterick Village, North Yorkshire. I've also got my Eden up for £100. If you buy head and cab as pictured you can have both for £150. I would like £100 please.
