  1. Past hour
  2. Back in at the deep end. Bendricks Rock just played the resurrected Barry Bier Keller. Felt a bit light headed and queasy setting up with all the squatting and standing so I took an anti-nausea pill. It worked. I decided to avoid the complexity of backing bocals by forgetting my mike stand. 8:30 start but they said they would be happy with 2x45 minutes. Warned us fridays can be a bit quiet... Our first set was just over the 45 then we went back on at 9:45. Finally got finished about ten past 11. Fortunately we had a full complement so had plenty of material to do and finished with a few songs in hand. First half not too busy, we got up to about 35-40 people, with sporadic dancing but it's a big place. Halftime some of our followers arrived then the dance floor got busy early in our second set (war pigs gets people dancing around here!) and by the end it was packed. We ended up calling all the songs on the fly to keep it up. I even managed to do a bit of dancing with some friends in one song! Bar staff delighted and want us back. Got some good sounds out of my effects and Flea Jazz. I had to cut the bass and boost mids on my Orange Terror as my rear ported cab got a huge bottom end boost from the gard wall behind it. Think I'll sleep tonight... and now I have to repeat it all again tomor... later today! Not photos of us... lots of people filming us so hopefully something willpop up on Facebook.
  3. Yep, they're really nice basses! I'm holding on to one of them, and I think I may have to get hold of a 4 string model at some point too
  4. For anyone on the fence... I'm happy to put it back to stock with a set of flats if that's your jam!
  5. Oh, Thank God!
  6. The company is currently being run by Linda and Dennis Drumm (how appropriate) - I don't know if they're family. If not then I assume that JHS himself wanted his family to profit from the company and may not have anticipated that it wouldn't find a buyer.
  7. They just use the normal Dunlop attachments 😁 I had a droc and they're awesome
  8. Today
  9. Hmmmm, not very friendly. I regret sharing the video in the first place if this person is only interested in selling their preset pack.
  10. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  11. But who has a Vigier Nautilus?
  12. Vrooom - King Crimson
  13. Just seen this before going on hols tomorrow 🙄, go me. Do you have the strap lock things, cos I think they're a bit different on these basses?
  14. Gods, this is gorgeous. I have a matching Jazz Deluxe from '98. That era is amazing. I'd have to chuck a load of stuff on auction to get the matching set though.
  15. What’s weirder is why Mr JHS (RIP) didn’t want his family to continue running the profit making business, forcing it to be sold. 🙁 All a bit odd.
  16. Yeah i did go and look eariler. Good price, i wouldn't hesitate other than i have a knack of buying things and sending them back. 2 things are holding me back. Size and gain got get rid of the Nux, that ive brought twice in the past 6 weeks. The size thing isnt really a deal breaker, but the pockets on my Bass bag are pretty full. The Nux sits nicely in the headstock pocket. I can see the SGT wouldn't fit in there. This could well be GAS that goes wrong. I’ll keep you in mind though.
  17. It's worrying that no one wants to buy a profitable solvent business.
  18. Which one of those are you spending the most time with? Any more details you can share (e.g. line up / how often you're out gigging / how long the band has been going etc. ?)
  19. no one ? ok, right then gloves off.... i will add 1 new guitar lead and a new guitar bass or brass tuner FREE....... BOSH... TAKE THAT ! ! the tuner is really good to be fair, see att, i use one on my trombone cus im sh!t 🙂
  20. I had two of the ABM 210H cabs and they were excellent. Paired very nicely with the ABM600 GLWTS 👍
  21. Number of strings: 4 Number of frets: 20 Scale length: 34 Number of pickups: 1 Number of controls: 2
  22. Who's got an Alembic Series 2 then 🤔
  23. Here is a pretty much brand new Dingwall NG3 5 String. I've had this for 2 months, used it for 1 gig, and a couple studio session. Hands down the best 5 string bass I have ever player, but sadly not quite the right fit for me. The action is crazy low and yet the strings ring true and clear. Tone from this thing absolutely beastly. This has all the new upgrades Dingwall introduced this year: - Minimalist bridge - Smaller active/passive switch (for no snags and harder to knock by accident) - Neck binding - String bullets (individual string retainers) Finish is a gorgeous black with subtle sparkle. Matt finished knobs that seem to be rubberized, are super easy to grab mid gig and tweak away. I have all the original case and goodies, plus packaging so all good to get this shipped too - will be £35 to UK (contact me if needing shipped further afield and I can see what is possible). I am sure I will regret this - I was giddy after the one gig I played with it after the sense of ultimate low end power. But I know it will mostly sit in my studio unused for the various projects I am involved with. Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

  24. PM Sent, as someone who has 3 graphite necks and didn't think it was realistic to get any more with how rare they are now, this is brilliant!
