Bought from Juan Alderete’s big Reverb Store sale. Shipped it to the UK, paid the duties, had the Thru jack fixed/sleeve/nut added, had the power switched to 240v. Sounds great, adds a subtle richness to the tone. Would pair beautifully with my Camden EC1 for the ultimate clean studio tone. I’m having a big clearout, won’t be heart broken if no one shows any interest.

Unfortunately IME Bandcamp is a muso/indie ghetto. Fine if all you want to do is reach other musicians and a few hardcore music fans, but nearly useless for reaching ordinary people. The sort of people you need to reach if you want to really grow your fan base. -
No one can afford to buy the house they're living in based on their salary. No one, orher than a few could. I couldn't afford the house I live in now based on my salary at the time. Mainly because of the housing ladder. I bought a very small house in the late nineties on the back of the housing crash. I lived there for 20 years. The equity due to property price rise added to the equity from paying off the mortgage meant I only had to get another mortgage based on my salary. I also have had salary increases due to promotions. People also have inheritances. When you look at people who live in expensive houses you are not seeing the last 20+ years of the work they have done to get there. They're not magically rich people who have suddenly found £500k behind the sofa or are all on £120k a year. There is a danger of labelling house owners as wealthy and taxing them, instead of looking at why companies who are making huge profits are getring away with low pay. And a higher minimum wage doesn't help if it's a blanket measure as it disprotionatly affects small struggling busunesses and disuades them from employing more people. However, there are lots of people living in big houses whose children have left, who are still working and are cash rich. It's disengineous to generalise. The mode salary in the UK is £15k, the median £37k. This means that people on the Mode salaray are living in poverty. Technically anyone with a household income below £22k is living in poverty but most households with 2 incomes will be on 2x£15k. Although I don't know how much tax avoidance affects those below £15k and skews these figures I know plenty of people who only earn £12k a year but seem to have very luxurious lifestyles.

I have seen the HNB5’s on and off sale quite a bit over the last couple of weeks, so I am sure they will come back down again.

Don't worry, The Inevitable Teaspoons are currently recording our second album, all by ourselves, in our RF hellhole of a rehearsal room, with whatever mics we can find and a Zoom R24, mixed by me who knows hee haw about mixing. What could possibly go wrong? But it will sound about as far from AI generated "perfection" as it's possible to be, and even though no effer will listen to it, it might poison the AI well a touch... -
There is certainly a lot of money still in this country, but the problem is that it is increasingly flowing from the middle class to the extremely rich. They are then using it to buy more and more assets, thereby pricing them out of the reach of ordinary people. Obviously, this is particularly important with housing. Add to this, an increasing problem with poverty. Twenty years ago, food banks were virtually unheard of by most people - now they seem to be ubiquitous, with certain sections of society reliant on them. What you say about house prices is evidently true. They make a lot of people feel rich, but you don't make money on the house you live in. At best, you just provide additional funds for the end-of-life care home you will probably end up in!

I listen to Spotify to search out bands and find new artists but their business model stinks. This is quite a good read - it does tend to repeat and rant a bit there is nonetheless some really interesting information. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mood-Machine-Spotify-Perfect-Playlist/dp/1399718843 Bandcamp is the best platform for artists to release music on. I listen to all sorts at work and have bought more than a dozen albums either as physical CD or FLAC now. -

Over the years I have installed and removed many shims and the main advice I can give is to start small, as @Andyjr1515 says. I now use the matal shi,s from Warman https://www.warmanguitars.co.uk/product/set-of-4-brass-guitar-neck-shims-3-different-thicknesses-in-one-set/ Easy to fit and easy to change to a different thickness. The main thing to remember is that it takes several changes at each stage to get things just right.

Sean, just to clarify, what do you mean by the Euro '79 JJ? There was a limited release of Euro 1979 LE back in 2019, but that has DiMarzio PJ pickups (I own one of these) Is the NS-2JA-R that you mean, the Euro bolt on limited edition (83 pcs each of the three high-gloss finishes: solid white, solid black and natural gloss) that Spector did back in 2008? "Spector's NS-2JA-R is a limited edition reissue of the company's NS-2JA from 1983 and features the original Spector NS curved body design and NS-2JA deep-inset neck pocket design. Other features include a maple body, chrome hardware (Leo Quan bridge, Schaller tuners) and EMG active J pickups with EMG BT active tone controls." On the original question: I have a Euro 5 Classic JJ and it sound different to my Atelier Z 5 string "superjazz" ('60 spacing). Both pickups on the Classic are closer to the bridge and the overall sound of it to my earsis closer to my 5 string PJ /DC Spectors than to the jazz, it still has the Specor DNA rather than the jazz.

Something from Branford Marsalis's 1987 recording, 'Random Abstract', this is the complete Delbert Felixstowe bass part for the Monk tune, 'Cresecule With Nellie'. Interesting structure and very 'Monkish' phrasing. Just three times through the melody but some challenges in there, nevertheless. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/crepuscule-with-nellie-branford-marsalis/
