  2. I'm sure they do their checks, but makes you wonder why someone who made the decision to purchase such a niche bass would decide to part with it via CC? I guess there are all sorts of scenarios which could explain it....
  3. This is s super old thread, but one I thought worth updating. Above I posted how I'd been a bit disappointed by the GnP, or at least that it didn't seem to play well with my bass and effects chain. Out of interest, I got my hands on a Mk2 this week and WOW, totally different story. I'm not sure what changed inside, but even running it on the old style mode, it reacts totally differently to my bass and sounds great. A friend has a Mk1 so I did an A/B last night for my own piece of mind and yeah, my bass pre-amp/pickups HATES the Mk1, but loves the Mk2. If you ever tried the Mk1 and were not sold, I'd really recommend giving the GnP Mk2 another look!
  4. I like it. just the right amount of resistance and seems to be more responsive. My previous one was the DOD mini expression and this one is definitely better for me.
  5. Hi. Here you go (from the Gator site)... Length 12.50" Width 19.00" Height 9.00" Cheers!
  6. Ben bought a Tech 21 Fly Rig from me and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. Excellent!
  7. MobileSheets Pro. Pay once and play a lot. Setlists, PDF, JPG, books with bookmarks... Used it for a few years, and works very well. I have maybe 5000 songs in there. No more papers.
  8. Bought a Tech21 Bass FlyRig from Clarky. Great to deal with, thanks!
  9. SS amps don't need a load, valves do.
  10. We have a few bands in my area that will play for next to nothing.Which could result in higher priceed bands not being asked back I subscribe to the notion that most club owners don't know the difference between a good band and a bad one. So, when the cheap band will play a gig for $350.00 and we quote $800.00 for a 4 piece band with sound and lights ,they'll go with the cheaper band. We have been around for over 15 years and we're comfortable saying " no ". Daryl
  11. How do you find the Dunlop as an expression pedal? I\m a big fan of the Moog EP-3, and have a few of them, but I'm considering something smaller (but not cheap and nasty) to save space on the board... this is currently looking like the best option.
  12. Excellent sub-reason to buy more basses. I agree wholeheartedly.
  13. Take them out. Probably saves 2-3grams in weight. Then get the screws and covers and throw them into the sea.
  14. My solution is to leave the covers on the bass. And if I want to play bass.... then I pick up a different one.
  15. Which logo do you want on your Cort?
  16. Back in my post-punk years in the late 80s chorus was never that far away from my bass sound.
  17. Jees, that's a great board @ordep
  18. It's a difficult one... The new standards with the ceramic pickups made by the Cort factory (is that correct?) have received very good reviews. I would say the new Fender standard would just edge it. The cachet of the Fender brand definitely helps, too. Maybe a well set up Squier 40th Anniversary Jazz would just pip the scales in Squier's favour. I sourced one of these for a pupil in recent months and it was an excellent instrument. There's definitely not a lot between them. I'd say it's down to the individual player to play both and decide which they like the sound of best.
  19. I think it depends on both sound and the feel of the bass. Some just don`t like actives so that may be a factor. I`ve played (and owned) Squiers that when set up properly play like a dream. The sensible option of course is to simply play both on a visit to a music shop and buy the one that gave the most enjoyment when playing. Years ago I bought a Squier VM 77 Jazz bass, one on a long list of basses I really shouldn`t have sold as it was one of the best Jazzes I`ve ever played.
  20. I didn't even realise that the case doubled as a stand-alone charger until I read it on here. I just thought it was a convenient way of transporting the transmitter and receiver and a handy way of charging both from a single cable.
  21. "Saving a few quid at the bar" In my opinion all bars and restaurants should comp food and certain drinks for the band. It's just the right thing to do as long as you don't have band members that would abuse it. Daryl
  22. I don't think there is any song my current band do where I don't have some chorus on the bass. However because I'm using a Helix Floor with several Snapshots for each song, I'm able to vary the type and intensity of the chorus from so subtle you can barely tell it's there to full-on jet flange depending on what is needed in different parts of the song.
  23. And done: A calm folky instrumental, that seems fitting for the picture and location of it: Solo bass, single track, 1st take, instrumental, played on my 28.6" scale 5 string Ibanez GSRM20B Mikro Bass, and tuned in G# standard tuning (as in the upper 4 strings of a 6 string bass in regular B standard tuning, plus a high E), recorded through my "amp-less" setup directly into my Zoom H4n handheld recorder, and only edited through a simple Wav editor.
  24. Something has popped up that I would like to get, so I have dropped the price to £1000 posted, with gig bag. Grab a beautiful bass for a great piece. Cheers ☺️
