Advice needed: organising being paid via bank transfer etc.

If you don’t want it going through your personal account, set up a separate account for the band with someone like Starling and make all payments in/out of that. 10 minute job to get one up and running. -

I'm sure this has been covered many times but I can't find a relevant thread. I've never had anything to do with payment side regarding gigs, the band leader has always sorted it. In a new band and there isn't a band leader as such so we're a bit in the dark on some things. We've got a gig coming up where the pub pays by bank transfer (on the day). This seems to be the way a lot of pubs etc are going. If it's a regular payment method for the places we're going to be playing, what's a good way of organising it for a band? To be honest I wouldn't want regular transfers going into my account and the 3 transfers going out... Cheers

I get that. I suppose it’s because the only fretless basses I’ve had have had no dots or lines. If I try and look at the double bass neck when shifting it can put it all out of whack causing intonation issues. (To be fair, it sounds awful whatever I do.)

I've never heard this said before about Sadowskys 🤔 Interestingly I've had passive Fender Jazz basses that disappeared into the mix with both pickups on full.

A good comparison: the Markbass CMD 121P is a very good benchmark in my view

Amp placement is also a factor. Having it projecting at the back of the instrument can be an issue. Not always, but can. If you stand to the side of it, that might alleviate immediate problems.

Doesn't the original have brass? To be honest, I can't be bothered to bring a brass section into the pub for a single song. So the bass and guitar will have to have a different arrangement to cover that song. Black Crowes arrangement, Otis Reding, Committments, or our arrangement. Most people are just listening to the singer.

The book? Of course. Send me your address.

Be aware that most distortion / fuzz type pedals, and chorus, and random others, return a signal that is 180 degrees, or some other random amount, off from the original signal. This has no effect on a series fx loop but when you are blending an effected signal with clean you can get an unpleasant mishmash.

Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam
