Grahambythesea started following Hofner in trouble?
-
I can’t help thinking that another maker will buy it up for the iconic name if nothing else.
-
Cat Burrito started following Hofner in trouble?
-
As a long time user of my long scale Hofner Verythin bass, this is sad

Hellzero started following My new venue Riff Factory in Stoke and Höfner files for insolvency
-
Macca can solve this insolvency within a minute... Maybe he will.
-
By the way, nobody mentioned Steve Winwood so far as he is an excellent Hammond player too...
-
And loved it so much that I bought his two last live albums. Thanks @Leonard Smalls ! 😊

Mismatched top, would this bother you? Cort space 4

Piss-poor... Who decided that would be alright before applying some glue? -
I've always thought that the Sunday afternoon / teatime gigs made a lot of sense, even before I reached a 'certain age'! I remember doing a few places back in the 80s, playing to bikers on a Sunday teatime, and it always made sense, then as it does now. A punter can go out and have a few beers, see a band and still get to bed home at a reasonable time to get up for work on Monday morning. From a muso's point of view, a two hour drive home at eight o'clock is better than driving home at midnight, especially for semi-pros who have work the next morning.

Unusual Christmas Songs please :-)

Anything from the Merry Axemas albums. Bit of a nostalgia when I was discovering bass and liked a bit of slap and shred guitars. -
What are you listening to right now?
BassApprentice replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
This has been stuck in my head for the past 3 days. Would absolutely love to be in a band like this. -
Set the truss rod and lowered the action a bit. Really plays well now, and I agree about the strings. Father Christmas is bringing me a set of Newtone Shorties.

The Paisley Jazz Bass is going to Rob Harris (guitarist from Jamiroquai) in the first week after New Year.

Why are venue house bass amps always such utter sh#te?
Chienmortbb replied to Paddy Morris's topic in Amps and Cabs
That may explain why so many seem to be interested more in the bass drum than anything else. Of course, the PA will be set up in an empty room, but the sound tech should have enough about themselves to realise that they need to boost the mids and do it before the concert starts. -
As simple as it gets, the tune is a one chorus melody rendering of 'My Foolish Heart' from the 1992 Victor Goines album, 'Genesis'. The bass player is Christopher Thomas who plays it as straight as they come. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/my-foolish-heart-victor-goines/

Not sure who makes these new ones, but I had a Blade Tetra that was a great bass. I think they were made for Levinson in Japan by Tune Maniac.

I nearly bought a s/hand one in a shop years back but it weighed as much as a small planet. I know the old ones were well thought of.

Musicman Sterling 4H Bass USA & Original Case Lovely example of the earlier Sterling model (not to be confused with the Sterling imports from the East) I picked up in a trade on here this year. Made in the US in 2000 it has a recessed neck plate, three band EQ and slimmer body and neck. This is a rarer version with a black sparkle finish and matching headstock. It comes with original pearloid scratch-plate and a plain black laminated one. It weighs 3.9kgs so a nice lightweight example of this bass. Lovely balance and set up. It’s very easy to play and currently strung with D’Addario 40-100 nickel roundwounds. No issues other than a couple of hard to see dings. Great bass, only selling as it is rarely used since I prefer maple boards. Pickup preferred but I can post in the UK at buyer’s cost. I’ve reduced the price so no offers. No trades other than possible p ex on a Ric 4003.
