    Beautiful instrument built by John In Derbyshire, well known for outstanding workmanship and attention to detail, this one is around 2017, it’s worth viewing the Shuker website to get a little insight into price and build etc. The body i believe is alder and there is a burl maple top, neck and fingerboard are maple with a flamed effect on the board itself, the fretwork is immaculate and overall this bass is very light. It is five string currently with a high C and the bridge is super adjustable in all directions, tuners are Gotoh and the active EQ like the pickups are Seymour Duncan comprising volume with push pull to dial in a separate profile, blend, mid, and bass/treble stack, the playability is without peer and apart from a couple of minor cosmetic anomalies as you can see in the pictures it is in great condition. The original hard case is included however I must insist on pick up from Halifax for obvious reasons. i think I have priced this fairly, reason for sale is that i am playing four strings almost exclusively in my dotage and this deserves to be loved.     IMO Aguilar amps take some beating, I've been playing them for over 10 years now, but my replacement list would include Mesa Boogie 800D, Bergantino Forte HP2 and Genzler.

    At bang on £1000 and 800 watts, the Mesa 800D is certainly a contender.

    Yeah, very sneaky, and a normal, trusting human can easily be tricked. Me, I'm not normal but still normally trusting. However, my hate for confidence tricksters is such that I actively track new accounts' activities - if and when I have the time.

    @SumOne, the post you quoted was highly likely to be from an account made for spamming or scamming. Inane, LLM-written content in necro-threads is one of the methods for making accounts "clean" before the spamming/scamming starts - - either immediately or after some months of hiatus - - the hiatus too adding to the "cleanness". Another forum was virtually "taken over" by these bots/people, so I think it's best to be vigilant about these (but do not know at all whether it helps). BTW, I reported that post, and now see that that account's posts have been deleted. Thanks, mods! best, bert

    I suspect that Andertons might argue .... That at a maximum of "6 weeks" is a reasonable repair time, for an item to be shipped back to a supplier ... repaired then shipped back .... The provision of a loaner for any gigs is removing my " inconvenience". Thank you for the info, good ammo to have if the repair drags on or i have problems post repair getting a loaner I will definately be citing this and getting shirty.. I fully intend to take a test XLR with me when i collect the thing ... if there's any signs of tightness or problems i will kick off, suggesting they have just removed the offending Andertons cable and returned it to me ... Do we have any recommendations for "FULL spec compliant" ... known good XLR Neutranic compliant cable ... I've never experienced problems before with anything good bad ... but i feel like i'm going to be significantly more careful with what i put it in from now on. I'm also considering twin cables ....     I've been playing my jazz the most recently out of all of my basses. I'm thinking about sanding back the body and staining it purple when it's a bit warmer too.

    My first ever bass was a brand new ‘78 Musicmaster from the old Soundhouse in Soho Square. Didn’t come with a case and I was out of cash so I took it home on the tube just carrying it by the neck. Always wondered what happened to that one!
