  2. As the Basschat community has always been fantastically supportive in checking out new music, we released our first brand new music in over a year. “Gloss” is out today via Ray Records and streaming on all the usual platforms. As always, we collaborated with Haunting the Atom to make this fun video. For anyone wanting a bit more background, it’s influenced by the post punk bands of our youth. I wanted a Stooges / Velvet Underground simplicity to the music (one note solo and bass line) but with an intelligent lyric. It isn’t typical of next year’s forthcoming third album and is probably the rockiest track we’ve written. Filmed in my house (which stunk of incense for several days afterwards), we had a blast doing this.
  3. Deeper Shade of Blue - Steps

  9. Yeah I saw those numbers and it felt like a lot….thanks for doing the maths to make it feel even less likely haha Cheers Si
  10. I ordered the Nano, but ten days later it hadn't arrived. The Bass Centre hadn’t realised it was out of stock 🙄. So we changed it to the Double 4, which I’m very happy with. All’s well that end's well!
  11. playing and creating new music influenced by music that i already like and primarily just to please myself ...is this art? .. i have no idea but I'm doing it constantly. Do a lot of home recording. It definitely comes under the category of self expression but its expression back to myself... if i get paid or published for it then that's a bonus but that's not the prime reason. If i do a gig its for my own pleasure, definitely not for the money. If i was the last guy on earth i would still be noodling on a bass as well as all my other gear....don't crave an audience.
  12. I had a Flamed Sycamore custom lined fretless 4 string back in early 80's but moved it on. Wish i had kept it. Cost me £740 new. Happy days. 😂 They do make some wonderful looking and sounding basses. Don't get much better than WAL. Dave
  13. Met him at the London Bass Show back in 2014 or so. He was there showing off his new-at-the-time Cort basses. Had a short conversation with him, but didn’t want to bring up any of his controversial stuff, about practicing with metronomes and so on. I also met Lee Sklar there, who was far nicer, more approachable and happy to talk to anyone who came up to him.
  14. Face In The Sand - Iron Maiden
  15. We played a 1.5 hour acoustic set. Probably 125 in attendance. We we're strictly background music. I get it, but nobody even looked in our direction. Good pay, so I won't complain. No pics. I left my phone at home. Daryl
  16. It's one finger per 'fret' on the Ibanez, on the Stagg there's currently a lot of moving the whole hand.
  17. And me, though my memory played tricks on me and I thought it was Spinal Tap.
  18. He and Geddy Lee my biggest influences by far.XTC, a totally unique , eccentric band that sounded like no other. Amazing stuff.
  19. Yesterday
  20. Colin Moulding is an unbelievably excellent player. XTC were fantastic at times. Some of their music is quite polarising, but at their best they were untouchable. Much missed.
  21. Unused, as new & surplus to requirements in original packaging. Protective film intact. Price includes UK postage. Collection welcome.
  22. I’ve not had my Sandberg tweaked since I got it in January so a set up for it would be great. I’ll bring some new strings for it. @NancyJohnson also happy for it to go in the blind shoot out.
  23. Sorry, no. I have brought it with me to Bolivia. Forgot the ad was still up.
  24. what a prat
  25. I'm really tempted to buy a blue one as a mod platform. I'm thinking about swapping the pickup to something I have in my box, and boy, do I have stuff in there. Either: APB-2 Lightnin' Rod (since there's room for lots of stuff under the bonnet and I want to remove it from my Fender P anyway) Ibanez Blazer split coil (essentially a DiMarzio) old Ibanez EB-3 copy bridge pickup, much mojo Artec SideWinder copy Your WillPower mod makes me lean towards the last option, and then going wild with a stacked V+T and a rotary switch for Series/Parallel/Out-of-Phase tonality, a thing I wanted to build out of a Squier Jag H that got discontinued and is only available in Boring Black these days. I'd swap all of the hardware to Guyker, too.
  26. My Bugera SVT CL clone is still going strong (at home) and keeps me convinced tube power has a certain something special. Unfortunately, unless I play a gig in my own back garden, I doubt it'll be used in anger (in my lifetime!).
