Any Sheryl Crow love here?
stingrayPete1977 replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in General Discussion
I just saw a clip and she says she wrote favourite mistake on the bass, lovely tasteful part too. I think many of her band have been around with her for a long time and like her play most instruments, I do wonder who plays what on the records but I wouldn't be surprised if everyone does a bit of everything. -

I've been following this thread and contributing, I did not pick up on any negativity at all. Lots of healthy discussion around the topic and some connected bits too. If Limelight or the person who commissioned the bass think I have contributed to wishing anything other than the bass not being delivered to its rightful owner then I apologise as this was never my intention. I think such discussions are very helpful. I would hope that, in similar circumstances (derails) I have provided some useful information on VAT etc. We come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise beyond bass playing. It's helpful to provide some relevant information (with a suitably qualified background) to other people.

Just curious, has anyone of you have tried Vision Ears? It is a brand from Germany that I think they made all custom molded up until now.

OK, let me know if no joy and I can get the subs house to try and sort for you. If you want to e-mail me then you can reach me on [email protected]

In a way, I'm all for people running riot with it (not that I think Al is). These online only stores have put traditional stores out of business, accepting returns is part of their cost of doing business. I went to the Roland (Boss) store at Denmark Street and they would not price match their online Roland store Amazon price. I was there in the shop ready to buy but it saved me £15 to get it via Roland on Amazon - next day delivery and 30 days free returns that the shop doesn't offer. It made no sense to not buy it from Amazon (unless I really needed it there and then instead of next day). I feel of the government doesn't act then all sorts of shops will close. One partial way of balancing things is to not feel guilty about using your legal right for online purchase returns. (I think the business model of that Roland store is to be a big Roland advert though, not necessarily to be profitable as a stand-alone shop)

But there is no denying that it imposes a number of artistic limitations on what can be reproduced with regards to low frequencies, phase and panning as well as impacting on the running order of albums. It's a matter of fact that should we decide to release a version of the album my band are currently recording on vinyl, it will most likely have a different running order to the digital version because the track that we want to close the album will not sound as good at the end of a side on vinyl. Also one of the tracks where we have done something interesting with the panning of the notes on the Bass VI will need to be at least partially collapsed down to mono. I've already checked what the effect will be and it has negatively affected the stereo movement and spread of the track and is particularly noticeable on earbuds/headphones.

Native Instruments in preliminary insolvency ...
SumOne replied to rwillett's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps a bit different from what you're saying, but two of the eight Grammy nominees for 'best new artist' first got fame via TikTok (Addison Raye, Alex Warren). And the winner of best music video was Deochii (who got fame as a Youtuber vlogger). So I suppose at least for them social media got them audience and then they monetise it by becoming musicians and selling gig tickets and merchandise and endorsements etc. - Today

There's not one post here that was against a happy ending of the bass being reunited with the owner. I went back and reread them all. In fact, there's no negativity toward Mark or the buyer. What there was, was some healthy non-conflict comment and information about some of the legal aspects and what could happen in similar circumstances, and a few well-meant warnings about certain couriers and practices. I think it's been a useful learning experience and it reflects well on the community that we can have these discussions.

Another cool pedal I've had sat around a while, sounds great, I just don't use dirt in my current setup so while it sounds really good it's just sat in a cupboard and might as well be getting used by someone. Condition is excellent / looks new to me. Here's someone doing a demo of one: Pedal is in Hope Valley (S33 6SB) if you're passing for collection or I can do local delivery, also happy to do UK poastage.
