  1. Past hour
  2. Had an update this week, my Sandberg should be with me in Nov 2026.
  3. I’ve developed arthritis in the top joint in my left thumb over the last year or so and similarly a change in my fretting hand technique has really helped.
  4. Lovely looking bass. As well as the truss-rod, do these have carbon rods reinforcing the neck?
  5. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.

  7. I use mono cases with multiple Sandbergs, fit perfectly and unless you specifically need a flight case are more than protective enough for touring.
  8. Thanks for the Feedback, it's good to hear your views which have helped me get over my intitial irritation. If I'm going to spend a good sum of money on a bag/case then I think I'll go for the Gibson shaped case for both sturdy protection and good fit. Looks like I'll be buying direct from Gibson as I can't find a pre owned in this Internet!!!. Cheers Charla
  9. The Mad Fer It Frog Chorus will be next 🐸
  10. Millennium - Robbie Williams
  11. Thanks Nick, they are very good value for the money and punch above their weight as they say 😉
  12. So cheeky to use that “R” - it’s *exactly* the same as the Rikkers guitars guys - based in the Netherlands. looks like a lovely bass, saw it over on FB.
  13. Today
  14. When I saw the title I thought you had bought an old VHS cassette player... 🤦🏻
  15. A couple for a Friday, first up is one we all know and always good to hear and on a heavier level Hopeton Junior, quite a dub mix at 3.10, love this
  16. Thanks both, yes I had some fun fitting a drop tuner which was supposed to be a drop in on my P bass.... I sorted it all out but a bit of a pain @pst62 - I'll let you know soon - got to pay a builder /decorator first!
  17. Lovely looking example, Brian.. I had one for quite a few years and really enjoyed it. Theses old Yamaha BBs definitely have a bit of magic about them. GLWTS 👍😊
  18. TC Electronic Spectradrive preamp & DI with Spectracomp compressor (with toneprint function so you can select from 40+ different settings such as Nathan East, Ida Neilsen ones etc) and Tubedrive dirt channel which again is toneprint enabled and has everything from clean boost to fuzz and many many extremely useable types of dirt available. Fantastically musical 4B EQ as well, it’s honestly a vastly underrated pedal. I’ll assume you’ve done/will do your own research on the pedal and so won’t list all the reasons it’s better than most of the preamp pedals that cost twice-three times as much, but once you get into the guts of what it actually does you’ll wonder how this stayed off your radar. I’ve gone the hx stomp route, and for now I’m just running that and a DI so I’m selling the last of my bits off as I have a holiday coming up! Comes in original box with power supply & instructions, as new condition - very sturdy and nice looking pedal that barely has a mark. Runs on normal 9v pedalboard power supply Like my other bits I’d rather get them shifted and give other basschatters a deal than have them sitting here for weeks, so fill your boots and all that 😁 Priced to sell very reasonably: £110 posted (UK RM Tracked) VIDEO DEMO 👇
  19. Maybe it is maybe it isn't. You're using a subjective term though when you say better.Play a bunch of USA basses and Squier ones and you'll know for definite. The ultimate test would be a blindfold one. We go to Sainsbury's and see McVities Digestive Biscuits and we see the Sainsbury's own brand version. Guess which one most people will assume is superior before even sampling either packet? Well McVities make both despite the lower price of Sainsbury's "version". Leo used ash and alder based on cheapness and availability. It was not a tonewood choice in the beginning. There's no magic there so if a Squier is poplar bodied for example there is no inherent disadvantage other than what the user places on it based on preconceptions and prior association.
  20. I've got about 30 basses, including Seis, Warwicks, and Ibanezezezes, and in that lot is one modified Squier and no Fenders. And I'm perfectly happy with that mix.
  21. It always seemed strange to me these were called the RGB, when in a way they were a reissue of the EXB series from the 90s.
  22. Some older albums in their original form still sound better to me in terms of production than almost anything since. I'm not a huge metal fan but AC/DC's 'Highway to Hell' sounds better than any guitar rock album I can think of, for example. But there are plenty of other much-loved albums that sound horrible to me and I can't imagine how anyone approved the final mixes.
  23. They've surely exhausted pillaging the complete canon of Messrs Lennon and McCartney by now?
  24. For sale is my Headrush Gigboard in great condition. It has the latest firmware updates etc and comes with the original power supply. Fully functional and dead easy to use / configure etc. I have a number of my own bass presets stored and I removed the factory (mainly guitar) presets to reduce the need for scrolling etc. I can easily reload the original presets if the new owner would like.....it takes about 2 mins, its that straight forward. Plenty of online videos, help and guidance to review as well. Its really easy to set up and edit using the touch screen to drag & drop effects and IR's together instantly. The interface is super easy to use. There are plenty of amps, cabs, IRs, microphone, and effects options to get the tones you're looking for. You can use your own impulse responses as well as backing up your presets to your PC. The four switches can be configured to switch between rigs, switch on effects, scenes or whatever you prefer. It has a looper too and can be used as audio interface for recording with reamping from the clean signal. Heres a few links: Headrush website Headrush Effects & Controls List Basschat thread I've added some documents for info eg: manual, effects list, preset equivalents - Gigboard-User-Guide-v2_1_2.pdfHeadRush Amps, Cabs, Mics and Effects.pdfHeadrush Models @2019.pdfHeadrush Preset Equivalents.pdf Comes boxed with power supply. As Aberdeen is a long way from most of civilisation, I'll ship to mainland UK at cost using Parcelforce / Royal Mail.
  25. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.
