Editing and creating TC Electronic bass amp tone prints
MacDaddy replied to Billy Sparkles's topic in How do I?
Thread revival! I've got a TC Electronics BH800. I have the app on my android phone, and can load the tone prints available for amps, but can't edit them. Is there a difference with the phone app and the computer app? -

First 5 string - Sire Marcus Miller V7 Reissue a good entry point?
mcnach replied to ColdFusion's topic in Bass Guitars
It's 17.5 mm, for both Z7-5 and Z3-5 (I have both and measured it). -
Start with a good cartridge. I prefer MM, as you can change stylus. If the turntable is steady runnin', you need think about the options: - speeds 16/33/45/78 - automatics (record size [7/10/12"], end stop, fully automatic...) - pitch adjustment is sometimes nice if you play along with records in standard tuning If your collection is LP/EP/singles, a simple 33/45 turntable with end stop would most probably work very well. Buy a good antistatic carbon brush! And I hate dust covers without decent hinges. 78 rpm records would benefit from a special needle and cartridge.

Might be better to see what it would cost direct from Musiclily: https://musiclily.com/collections/precision-bass-style-pickguards/products/musiclily-pro-13-hole-p-bass-pickguard-for-fender-american-mexican-standard-precision-bass-1-3-4ply-mx0355p These days I often see if Amazon sellers sell direct.

I only use reviews to find out features really, and don’t go by general recommendation (especially as i want it for bass and he is a guitarist), but a so had the Gp-5 and now the GP-50 based on its features Its nice to see others also thinking the same. i was going to keep the GP-5 as a back up but i really can’t see me needing it anymore, especially as i also got the Sonicake pocket master.

I think you are going to find that there’s a whole heap of personal taste in the equation. I’ve used zs10s & ZARs and am now on Senheiser 100s. All of which are ‘ok’ (although I gravitate towards the 100s). Could be the desk I’m using, could be the tips, could be the price point etc. but only finding things ‘I’m fine using’ rather than ‘I love using’ at the moment.

This is a lovely bass but I'm just happier on a jazz. It's in great condition overall but there's a couple of small dings on the headstock, some very mild buckle rash and a crack in the lacquer on the lower edge which I've tried to show in the photos. Currently strung with some slightly aging neon DRs as they were all I had, also comes with a hiscox hard case. Collection from Sheffield preferred or I can meet you in the middle, or can courier if you're happy. I'd potentially be interested in a 1x12 or 2x10 cab as part trade, otherwise looking for a sale.

Here is my lovely Roland Bass Cube 100. This is an excellent amp with FX and amp modelling. There’s not much more to say except everything is in really good condition and everything works as it should. The pics show all the functions clearly. This is heavy and will need to be collected. I live in Catterick village, near to Richmond, North Yorkshire. I would like £135 ONO please.

Yeh I mean I know the guy so I’m biased, but he would (and has) genuinely say if a product is shit, and isn’t afraid to point out issues even if they’ve sent him the pedal for free, so it’s nice for me to see it from the other side, and hope the bass reviewers I watch are similarly credible

I’ve been using ZS10 Pros for 3/4 years now and they are amazing value, but I’ve recently bought a pair of Linsoul KZ Zax 1DD+7BA which to me sound better. £58 on Amazon.

xgsjx started following New Vs Vintage Turntable?

I’m looking for a good looking & good sounding turntable, so thought I’d get advice & suggestions from the knowledgeable folk on here. I’d like to keep it to around £500 including the tone arm & cartridge. I don’t mind going a little over if it’s something that my wife approves of (it is for both of us). New, I’ve spied a Pro-Ject 2XPERIENCE, a Pro-Ject Elemental special edition, and the Rega Planar2 - all around £500. There’s also the Technics SL40 on sale for £610, which is very nice. Vintage, I’ve been looking at a couple of Thorens decks. There’s a TD-125 available that’s just in budget, but considering they go for between £500 & £5000, it’s at the bottom end. Also saw a Systemdex iiX for sale not too far from me. I know it gets great reviews, but I’m not sold on the looks (it’s the black finish). Anything else I should be looking for? I don’t need a phono stage, as it’ll be hooking up to a Ruark R410 system.

GP-50 review by my bandmate Lee 👇 here for anyone who’s interested, looks good value still and much better having a screen and two footswitches - just the fact it does NAM captures makes it worth the price alone - some excellent captures of stuff like the DCX Bass and the Jad Freer Capo which can either save you a lot of money, or give you a chance to try the sounds before committing serious money to them. Saying that I’m buying an Anagram on Monday 🤣

I remember many years ago, when I had a Leak amp and Richard Allen speakers, I wasn't get much bass due to low powered amp and relatively low efficiency speakers no matter what positions the bass and treble controls were at - it just sounded completely unnatural and a bit unpleasant. So I took the tape out and (1st hifi heresy alert) plugged it via phono to stereo 1/4" jack lead into my (2nd hifi heresy alert) Marshall Jubilee bass amp, which was using a large Yamaha folded horn cab with 15" speaker. Turning all the bass amp's tone controls down apart from 50 and 120Hz gave an altogether more pleasing amount of surprisingly natural bottom end... -

Agreed, i played lots of country gigs in Norfolk. The punters preferred more modern country rock. The cowboys and girls at these events were a likeable and friendly bunch of nutters. Easy gigs, good money if that’s what you want. -

That sounds promising. Also some reviewers comment on the good sound, but do not define what process they were doing when they thought that. I think I may pull the trigger on one and run my own subjective tests. David
