Last gig for 2025 . Playing Girdwoods Bar , Wishaw, before a three month hiatus whilst various band members have a few holidays and work commitments lined up. Played this venue almost a year ago and had a brilliant time. The keyboard players other band, The Brass Monkeys, played here last week so he should know where he is going😄! Some of our dedicated travelling followers ( as in 250 mile round trip!!!) have said they'll be there to lead off the dancing so a good afternoon is anticipated.

If we can keep the stage volume low it will be fine. I'm more concerned about the dep drummer. We just call these guys in with no rehearsal. We don't play anything difficult and we expect them to fall in line. Daryl

I tend to use my stuff , it’s not heavy , and I know it well. I’ve used may backline rigs over the years , and that’s why I use mine.

Okdoke :). Foam in the headstock might be tricky when the tuners are held in place by screws. But I'll see if there is a way to confirm relative weight saving of the lighter weight core filling in an side by side experiment.

That’s a good point, the only compression I’ve ever used that I was competent enough to use was the one knob compressor on my old Ampeg PF500. Cue the claims of one knob using one knob………

Funnily enough, I finally got around to playing with my spectracomp today. I saw a gig and the bass player had way more compression than I normally use and it did work. But I want enough dynamics to ride my amp's gain and get results from my autowah. The Nathan East setting is pretty good. The trapdoor one is insane, totally impractical but I'd love to wig out with it and an octaver! A lot of the funk ones felt pretty samey, although they opened up te top end well. I can't remember which I chose now, but I went for a three band with a slightly more rounded bass. I would appreciate a greater understanding of the presets and what the knob does for each one. I couldn't find the editor... To be brutal, I suspect the single knob compression on Joyo amps is at least as effective for rock. I also think I spent most of my time looking for the 'better knob' effect my TC Forcefield has and not finding it.

I am constantly grateful for a rig where I can have amp on a shoulder strap, cab in one hand and bass in the other.

To answer your question, there are some other Steinway pianos in the Numa Player, the Steinway D is a paid option and is far better than the free ones delivered with the app. I didn't say that the keybed was the same for all Nord and Studiologic, but all coming from Fatar with different models according to the series, just like you mentioned. I love the Steinway Model O, it's a superb grand piano. Concerning the action, here are my thoughts. I had a Studiologic Numa Nero (TP/40 Wood) before the SL88 GT Mk2 and there's are some improvements (triple sensors and double escapement) with the TP/400 Wood, it's really close to a grand piano action wise, at least the ones I had the opportunity to play when I was learning it in a school. I also had a Casio GP-510BP with a Bechstein grand piano keybed and I find that the TP/400 Wood is better, especially the escapement, that was too light on the Bechstein/Casio. That said, I now own a Casio AP-750 and, even if the keybed is still from Bechstein, I find it lighter, more like an upright piano, but the pedals response is far better, just like the new sampling or is it because of the new amplification, but for a real grand piano, the SL88 GT Mk2 is the best to me and superior to the Kawai Responsive Hammer II that I really hated (I sent it back, on the next day, the ES 920 that I just bought for that reason) or the Roland PHA-50. The keybed of the Kawai VPC1 (RM3 Grand II) didn't convince me. I would like to try the Kawai Millennium III Hybrid keybed of the Novus series though...

I’ve been the same over the last couple of years too, in my efforts to make gigging as easy as possible. And you know what, I always managed to get a decent enough sound irrespective of whatever the rig was.

I also have the same there shirts with epoxy and CA glue. CA skilfully evades careful handling.
