  1. Past hour
  2. That’s an absolute beast of a rig! I can imagine exactly how good that sounds. Ace.
  3. Very nice rig for sale - £650 Markbass Little Mark IV (2021 date). Comes with Markbass case for the head. 500w at 4 ohm and 300w at 8 ohm load. Features the revised 4-band EQ. Bi-band limiter. 3 way switch for Flat, scooped, or foot switch setting. Old school filter (my favourite feature). Is in excellent condition, very lightly used. Markbass New York Ninja cab - 2x12 - 800w. Fantastic, powerful and light cab (18.5kg). Excellent condition. Comes with a Roqsolid cover.
  4. Oh that's interesting! What do you feel they are lacking? Consensus seems to be they are comparably good to RCF speakers and, I guess from what's been said, the FBTs also.
  5. Bass Gallery have a 55-02 in stock, none of the UK dealers seem to have any 5 strings in stock
  6. From the same family, I can confirm that the 802 also sounds tremendous with the Barefaced cabinets. So, I knew the minute I started reading your post it was going to have a happy outcome. Congrats! The only odd thing I found recently was that the rubber feet on my 802 actually got stuck to the BT3's finish lol.. something reacted and they became "temporarily inseparable" - is that an oxymoron? ha ha! (My other amps have been fine).
  7. by mistake... yeah right
  8. Rosegarden Funeral of Sores - Bauhaus
  9. Weeds aren't really squishy hippy prog! They were a precursor band for future goth, dance, Madchester and punk bands, though they've always been more of a dance-cum-rock (that's a new genre...)
  10. It wasn't outrageously heavy, but it most certainly wasn't 'very lightweight' as someone mentioned earlier in the thread.
  11. I loved having those three pickups on my (sadly gone) AB1 to play across as @SumOne says. I'd have gone one step further and had all three pickups made as a giant ramp, with a radiused top to suit the neck. Sheldon and I chatted about radiused pickup shells way back, but life got in the way of making that a reality.
  12. I haven't tried enough amps to be certain there is a difference, but my main gigging amps are old school solid state affairs. If I carried on I would have to use the "H" word, so I won't. I'd like to try one of those some day. Rob
  13. As @Beedster said, I wouldn’t be in a hurry to sell across the Atlantic again after my most recent experience with UPS. I was contacted just last week by a potential buyer for my Spector and after a lot of homework I concluded that it was far too much hassle. Funny enough, I spent about an hour wading through all the terms on the DHL site and even spoke to them directly. If you are going ahead, the advise I had was to obtain a manufacturers material data safety spec to negate much of the nonsense that US Customs will present you with.
  14. Whilst true, the harmonics/timbre of the hand position are relative to the string scale, which is compensated for by the angled pickups. One thing to note about the previous Dingwall models (Combustion/NG/D-Roc), is that the pickups inside the case are split coils, so the 'playing line' is additionally compensated for:
  15. doom woods - whitechapel
  16. Pretty much a bunch of older blokes with acoustic guitars and a flautist. So it was a pretty interesting sound scape although some of the lyrical themes are a bit dark (not too many bands out there doing songs about ageing and cognitive decline). I had a good time, plus I only needed to take minimal gear (one bass and a small combo), practice venue only 20mins form home. Musically it was interesting as they were very much into juxtaposing bright and dark tonalities. So I have a bunch of tunes to learn for next week and was very much encourage to bring along my own ideas as well. all in all it feels like a result to me.
  17. Apple airpods Max in as new condition, only worn twice and I cant use them due to Tinnitus unfortunately Price to include UK delivery

    Neural Quad Cortex

I'll be comparing the two and sharing my thoughts in time along with a full review. I'm also planning another review of the QC as there's lots to include since the last ones. I am mega pleased to see that the next OS update of the Quad Cortex is finally going to include both the amazing Cory Wong X and Parallax X plug-in, following today's announcement. I use the Cory Wong X daily and I've wanted the compressor and SSL desk model in the QC for..well, ever! Next I'm looking forward to seeing the Archetype: Petrucci X ported in too, my other daily driver for teaching, writing and recording.
  19. I knew you had a squishy hippy progger trapped inside that crunchy punk shell :-)
  20. Very advanced notice, but as Weeds haven't played in public for around 9 years I thought I'd mention it... Complete with psychedelic and electronica support and 60s oil projection! Tis in Chester, btw...
  21. I think the SP1 P bass type neck pickups solves an issue I have with multi-scale (admittedly it isn't an issue I've ever seen anyone else mention, so perhaps it isn't an issue!). Play horizontally down the strings and the usual multiscale pickup angle/position (like the bridge one here) means that you are playing the B string just in front of the pickup, but the G behind the pickup (green line). That has always felt like an issue for me - the tone playing the G relatively further back is different to the tone of the B ahead of the pickup. But now, if playing ahead of the neck pickups (yellow line) it at least means you are playing slightly ahead of the neck pickup on the B and on the G which I expect is a more even tone across all strings.
