Planet Rock - Top 500 - Interesting listeners votes
hiram.k.hackenbacker replied to rwillett's topic in General Discussion
I still haven't looked at your playlist. I didn't want to until I had finished with my one. I've chosen 40 from a massive list that went on for far too long. I think I've avoided adding anything from my list that was in the original 500. Here it is. -
Just love this gig from World Party, Chris Sharrock and "Paul" from The Bootleg Beatles supply D&B. The late Karl Wallinger up front. Not sure of the other members.

There's quite some information here about threaded inserts, you just have to do some searching. I like them, easy and functional. My travel bass has a Status neck with inserts. I detach the neck before going to the plane. Soundwise it doesn't matter, wood bolts or inserts, but inserts are reliable, and enable multiple removals without any issues.

A solder sucker doesn’t melt the solder.

Budget Jazz Bass in excellent condition. A Stagg branded jazz with a maple neck and lightly flamed maple board. P bass nut width. Controls are as standard aside from the series/parallel switch. Plays and sounds very nice. Alder body (according to the spec sheet) which is Quite light and full sounding, and rare at this price point. Could do with the funds but im open to trades for amp heads or pedals possibly. Postage possible, collection/meet preffered. Cheers

Something simple but effective, as they say. Mostly an exercise in note recognition, the complete 11 minute Sam Jones performance of the tune 'Autumn Leave' from the classic 1959 Cannonball Adderley record, 'Somethin' Else'. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/autumn-leaves-cannonball-adderley/

Maybe a solder sucker might have helped. Cheap ones are only a couple of quid.

Thanks. Have another biscuit ! These are stunning basses in appearance, even better than my photos and the pickups / preamp don’t disappoint either. I couldn’t find any other preowned one’s for sale in the UK currently so this is a great chance for somebody to enjoy a magnificent bass. Cheers. Quent

I'm not sure why, but he's stopped building. If you look at his Facebook and website it's all been taken down..and the last couple of Instagram posts references his last items being made 😞

I doubt it was down to the film... the different plastics of the ply shrinking or gassing at different rates - some early celluloid plates resemble thise 'Shrinky Dinkies' of the 80's

Martin E started following Never use my G string

Blimey, had a rehearsal this morning, lots of swing jazz, probably used every note on every string up to 10th fret or so. Plenty of notes available even on a four string, a shame not to use them.

Now just £310.00. This amazing emulation of the acoustic control corporation 360 preamplifier with variamp and built in fuzz is up for grabs. Hand made by the renowned JC Maillet and commissioned and imported by myself at great cost. I have used the 360+ for studio recordings, gigs, rehearsals and at home, it has never dissapointed. The preamp sounds fantastic and the fuzz section is the best I have used. I have owned this pedal for a good few years from new, as can be seen it's in pristine condition. Specially sourced UK power supply also included. Will happily run from other sources with the right leads (I used it with a trex chameleon). Fully detailed printed instruction manual also included. Only available as I have more preamplifiers than I can use. Try out/collection always welcome, or UK insured postage for £15.00

I’ve tried both, Ampeg for me. It wins on tone, range of features, price and separate pedal switch to engage the drive
