  1. Past hour
  2. I used my new Player series Precision once or twice but actually preferred the sound of my old Squier Standard over it until I took the horrid farty mex pups out and put in some Custom Shop '62's. I'm not too fussed now about getting mojo dings on it as it sounds so bloody gorgeous and makes me feel good as I know the band will sound good too.
  3. Pulp were excellent. Jarvis is a great frontman.
  4. As to alternate takes, also the Guitar Hero III version of "Cult of Personality" is different than the album version.
  5. Really cool sounding old school Alessis Microverb 1. Does work without doubt however, power supply separated in house move hence, £15. Maybe you have a PSU. (3.5mm mono jack type (v /AC) If you do, grab a bargain. Ebay got them for about £12. If I find the original before a sale, I'll edit ad to £25. Happy to post, guessing at around a fiver. Maybe a bit less. Alternatively, pick up from Ashill IP25

  8. Don't actually see many of these. Part of the range that Danelectro brought out a fair while ago. (The Dirty thirty, Nifty fifty and Nifty seventy) First two being guitar combos, this being the bass combo although, most people play guitar through these. My Taylor acoustic and Thinline Tele both sound fab through this and I regularly gigged with it in a Jazzy duo I was in back in France. However, it's actually a bass combo and was great for learning stuff or small intimate cafe' gigs. (Actually handles a low B really well) This has had a little mod on it but is reversible. The headphone socket hole has been used for a line-out (female 1/4 mono jack) as I wanted to stick it into the P.A without using a mic. Only found a couple for sale at silly money, both in the States. (Reverb It's a really cool looking little amp that handles bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and on one occasion, a lap steel. Got a few little age related scrapes but nothing serious. NOW £60

  9. Fully working M-Audio 88 key controller. Have used it loads with the Roland JV1010 also for sale. Velocity keys (not weighted) Can't find PSU but fully working when powered up. Only fault is the little volume slider plastic top thing is missing but I might be able to stick something on although slider is still easy to use as the metal bit still sticks up. Can't post as no idea how to pack it. Pick up in Ashill, Norfolk. More clearout stuff to come.
  10. I’ve been away this weekend so going to hopefully catch some of the action on catchup.
  11. I had to read this twice. Don't use Instrument leads for your speakers or Speaker leads for your guitar. They are not interchangeable, you can't use them for 'double duty'. AND if your speakers are powered, don't use speaker leads between your mixer and the speakers. Use 2 core twisted sheilded pair with XLR or TRS jacks.
  12. St Elmos Fire - John Marr
  13. Full disclosure, this unit doesn't work in it's current state! I bought this item on here in March (fully working then), and it was fine up until a few days when it went pop; and now (confirmed with focusrite) has a physical fault. Could be a great project for someone with electronic skills. £45 (or near offer) plus postage, or collect in Northampton. I'm offering no guarantees, sold as seen. Video showing what happens when it's turned on
  14. I bought one of these a few weeks ago; fantastic bass. Wide but really comfortable neck, and a huge range of sounds. Absolutely love it, and recommend this. Best of luck with the sale.
  15. String through body increases the richness of the bottom end and gives you a little more sustain. I've got it on two Jazzes (2012 FSR hand stained Am.Std and 2016 American Elite.) I use the 40-95 Elixir set too.
  16. I cheekily put out a press release for our next gig. On friday a mate had two people tell him they'd read a good band was on next week
  17. I read that as 'Stormy'...
  18. I can't work out if you're being serious or not. 😆 Just in case you are: Kids, don't do this!
  19. The bass in the vid is the Hohner B2A. I have one. It's active. I also have a five string Steinberger Spirit. It's passive. The Hohner is a much better quality instrument. Mine is strung with piano wound (exposed core at the saddles) rounds. It zings. A proper slap monster.

  21. Surprised there's been no mention of the Boss WL-50, they're the best wireless adapter on the market IMO. As well as the usual advantages of freedom of movement and no coil whine/hum, they've got: a lovely chonky wireless adapter that plugs into your axe with a satisfying thunk, holds 8-12 hours charge and has a green-amber-red indicator to let you know how much charge it has left a standard Boss pedal-sized receiver / charging dock that sits nicely at the beginning of your pedal chain, runs on batteries as a backup, has a 9V out socket as well as a 6.35mm input jack just in case, and has three latency settings for emulating different cable lengths (no idea why tho lol). incredibly low latency latency of 2.3ms as standard, I believe even the most finely attuned human ear can't detect latency under 10ms 14 distinct onboard channels so despite only running at 2.4GHz even if there's a fair bit of contention at that frequency you're unlikely to collide with other signals up to 65 feet line of sight The only potential downside is if you like to store the adapter in the charging dock between sets and you keep your pedalboard unplugged, you need to remember to not fully insert the adapter otherwise it thinks it's in use and drains the battery. Boss maybe missed a trick there by not having a footswitch on the charging unit to toggle between charging modes.
  22. After getting my Competition Burgundy Vintera II back from the workshop on Friday (it was suffering from a lot of hum and turned out to have an earth wire missing from factory), I suddenly found this morning that I have a 'Tale of Two Mustangs' on show.
  23. @Andyjr1515 Don't be shy... post a link to your web site. The finished articles are great... but it's the work and attention to detail that amazes me.
  24. Agreed @eude - I prefer @stevie’s designs! I have a feeling the TE Elf 1x10 will have to truncate the top and bottom end a fair bit, focusing on mid range efficiency. And I did briefly own a BF One10 (non tweeter) but found it a bit too coloured for my taste. And not enough ‘ping’ without a tweeter. Also the low end was tighter than I wanted…but they are very power efficient cabs… The Goodwood is massive by comparison to the others. So would have much bigger low end. And the compression driver is excellent. I’m looking at a novel solution for busking power. https://www.amazon.co.uk/ALLPOWERS-Portable-41600mAh-Generator-Emergency/dp/B09M3S5H9M?th=1&psc=1
  25. I - and I hope the majority of people here - agree with that, but unfortunately this sort of discussion will get the thread locked. And remember, you'll never reason a person out of a position they did not reason themselves into. Anyway - moving away from politically sensitive issues*, I don't pay the BBC Compulsory Subscription, but am looking forward to hearing how dear old Rod the Sod endured a hail of p!ss bottles for the duration of his set. *Oops.
  26. It was certainly an interesting veneer! This is how the final thing came out:
