  1. Past hour
  2. Don't forget about TC watts. 🤪
  3. Bit of a long shot, but worth a punt... I have 3x 30cm and 1x 50cm CIOKS flex cables that I want to trade for 15cm ones. Standard tip neg Boss style ones. Anyone?
  4. I think they did a good job of distillling it down the the main point - that it's not OK to mime a video of you playing something that you can't actually play in real life. All of the other stuff about miming, cleaning up parts on recordings etc are justifiable as long as you can actually deliver in real life. Also, in general, I would much prefer to watch clips of people playing stuff with imperfections (either in their execution or in the sound quality)...
  5. The other night I was adding new bass lines to someone else's material, much of it on the fly. We were making rough guide recordings in garageband. I aimed to get one good take of each section, which could then be cut and pasted to make the full song.
  6. Des bought my personal monitor thing - great comms and quick payment, an absolute pleasure to deal with all the way.
  7. Just received the speaker and case I bought from joel. Well packaged and sent by tracked delivery. Fantastic items exactly as described. A pleasure to deal with once again. Thanks joel.👍
  8. Hi ,can you check the shipping costs for Sarajevo 71000,Bosnia and Herzegovina, thanks, all best
  9. It all depends on context. If a mistake doesn't detract from the final article then you're not going to rerecord it. Back in the day you'd have to spend hours physically cutting and splicing tape, it was easier to recored the whole piece again. Then with ADAT you could find bits and punch in. The last recording I did (using pro-tools) I made one audible mistake, really bad wrong note. It was fixed using auto-tune in seconds. The same note length, accent, everything, just the pitch altered for that single note. Miming is not a problem if it's Top of the Pops. The technology and time constraints meant rotating and sound checking 10 bands for a 30 minute program wasn't practical and the idea was to showcase a single, not the band. Many singles would never have been reproduced live. If I'm going to see a live show, I want to see no miming(singing or playing), whether it's a band in a pub, Madonna or a West End Show. Others may expect something else. I'd rather watch Maddonna (or others of that style) sing and dance less than dance more and mime. That's what the dancers are for. My brother has seen both Prince and David Gray restart songs because of various issues. That's live music for you. And people should be upfront about it.
  10. Just bought a very nice shortie Sterling Ray from Ash. Exactly as described and promptly dispatched etc. Highly recommended. Cheers Ash
  11. Has to be something available in 1978 when the song was recorded.
  12. Can't recommend strings but can you give my clothes a once over now the wash has finished?
  13. JD basses. Very rare to find one for sale.
  14. Fantastic bass pedal that covers you from overdrive to distortion and fuzz - gated as well. Just not playing in bands so I'm moving some gear - fantastic condition, #006 ☺️
  15. Great cab. Miss mine.
  16. As a way too ebay influenced (as in i really shouldnt have bought this many but ebay helped..a lot ) buyer/seller/collector/playerI have owned a LOT of basses (possibly over 200). And i have a few sellers regrets in my 45 years of bassist shenanigans. So occasionally i land up re-purchasing basses previously sold.. But there are a few that I just dont see ever come up for sale...rarity or just held onto by happy owners..who knows? Yamaha series 1 TRB 'slapcut'. Awesome basses, Japanese build quality. I had the rare Jazz pickup layout version. Owned it for 14 years and rather dumbly (is that a word?) sold it. Never seen that model since. Dammit. Any of the x series of the budget Yamaha BB's. I have owned 4 and 5 string versions, managed to snag a 424x but you hardly see them for sale, they are brilliant. Washburn Force 42. Headless 80s bass. Never seen one for sale since the 80s As a collector i'd likely buy any of the above without even planning to gig them (although i do take the 424x out for the odd gig or two see below..) Any basses you hanker after yet never see on the for sale board?
  17. Ever wanted that mega Bi phase action like a musitronic! But smaller and cheaper. These are difficult to find, so my last bump.
  18. Yes I've been very tempted to get one of these, although they seem crazy expensive for what they are: https://www.thomann.co.uk/eich_amplification_bassboard_xs.htm
  19. Is anyone able to comment on the Anagram's screen brightness, particularly outdoors in sunlight? Whilst I'm not expecting 1,000+ nits brightness like my iPhone, it would be good to know if it's more visible than my Helix LT screen, which may as well be turned off when I get to play outdoors. PS, I hope one day multi-effects manufacturers use colour e-ink displays instead!
  20. Today
  21. Or stand on a bassboard and really feel it!
  22. Need to move this on now to make space. Make me a SENSIBLE offer and it's yours.
  23. That sounds like a deep, metallic flanger to me. Also sounds like it's just sweeping, not hearing any envelope triggering personally. Could be the MXR rack or pedal flanger, or an EHX Deluxe Electric Mistress, or even an A/DA flanger? I know they're all capable of producing that deep, metallic sound.
  24. Is that bass at the start of Cannonball a mistake, really?
  25. Hopefully this makes it clear enough (you'd never guess I worked as a draughtsman for 18 months!) Matt
  26. To be fair, my loud, at 73 is not stupid loud and the trouser flap is caused by the velocity of air leaving the port on an LFSys Monaco. The port is at knee height and standing in front of it you really can’t feel it, of course, with a long slot port like on a Barefaced, you would not get that concentrated draught of air.
