For sale lovely birch green Fender player 2 i bought early this year and have recently been using this or P bass to see what fits what i'm doing and the P bass has won - for that middy growl. Have bought a Squire CV Jag as back up - so now this faces being an occasional bass and it's a great player, so should be someones to use. Made in Mexico these are now really good little basses. Great QC Had luthier sort the frets, which he levelled and ran glue under each to make sure they pinged and bevelled off the slightly rough edges, basically your getting a Plex job but done by the hands of someone with 40 years experience. So now with the rolled edge finger board, satin finish, it is great to play. Dark rosewood board, with maple neck, the body colour looks even better IRL. Weighs about 8.5lb but balances great. So lightweight and versatile. Strung with new Ernie Ball Super Slinky 40-100 - very nice action. Very useable pickups. Comfortable bridge for palm muting. Priced to sell - collect from Clitheroe or meet up or can post to UK in box for £20

Yeah it was nice. It’s an old sort of mansion house that was revamped a few years back into a wedding venue/restaurant/hotel etc. Lovely looking venue.

Apparently there are a lot of opinions about hybrid basses but usually the basses sound better than all laminate ones so that is very positive. My teacher and others think that the mix of solid wood and laminate can cause some problems because they do not expand and contract the same way when temperature or humidity changes and this can lead to stresses on the top and bottom, especially on hybrids with laminate sides and backs. I wonder if a bass like yours with solid top and back might have the same problem, perhaps a luthier will join in here and give us some ideas. I guess the best thing is that the top and back have not cracked and only the side seam has opened a bit, there must be some stress somewhere. Full disclosure, I was interested in buying a hybrid but after doing some research I now have two laminates. I live in a house that is heated by wood so the temp can be a bit erratic, I use a humidifier 24/7 all winter, I live in northern Ontario where winters are very cold. My luthier thinks I take proper care of my basses but both my Shen (2010) and Czech(70's) basses have had a bit of seam separation that my luthier repaired. My conclusion is that even with good care any bass can have a seam problem, the good thing is that it is easy to repair and there is no damage to the top or bottom.

He's been SBL and just appeared again, which I need to see. He did alright making up his own bassline to a MJ song. I do like this SBL idea and there are some other good ones.

If you look in the mirror and say rockinbetter 10 times he appears behind you

I'm not quite sure who awarded it but he did earn a "Bassist of the year" title in 2020 before hitting his punk phase!

Fender precision bass project not working The previous owner has made this look like a 63 p bass . He went at it with a blow torch and it does look cool. It’s been hanging on my wall for a few years just looking cool but now the electrics are not working? I brought new pots but my soldering skill are not that good (I will include them) Actions nice and I have put new flat wound strings on it. so selling as a project . collection from Brighton

@BassBags I'd be interested what you thought as an Eastman supplier. Thanks
-
Hi, I just noticed that the side on one of the shoulders of my Eastman has slightly pulled away from the back, and there's a slight crack about one centimetre long at the bottom, which I've highlighted. The odd thing is, it's a hybrid bass with carved front and back and laminate sides, so I wouldn't have expected the laminate to have moved if anything, yet that's how it looks. Also the back hasn't come away from the side, the side just seems to have contracted, but it all seems pretty solid. so I'm not massively concerned at the moment but you never know. Has anyone had a similar issue? Would you be concerned? BTW It's around eight years old. Thanks, Pete

Can you smooth tuffcab with a brush to get a flat finish around ports etc.?
-
Having played with dmx, it should make setup easier... just a couple of long cables to link the t-bars. No messing around setting up individual units as the controller will set them up. I'm aiming for no more than choosing a preset or a bank and a speed between songs which should only take a few moments. I might do one or two chases later.

Its Showcase time ... or at least copy someone else time. Maybe, maybe not though, as December is traditionally the challenge of presenting a cover, it could be a new one or any that you have recorded this year. It can be a faithful attempt at the original, a minimalist approach or a radical re-imagining but based on another song or tune . This marks the spot for the start of the challenge , dive in and have some fun. ✅ Entries must be <5 minutes and recorded between now and the deadline. ❌ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ❌ Bagpipes, only if they are absolutely essential, but must be recorded live from Edinburgh castle at -65db ❌ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you.. Deadline-wise, we will go for Midnight on Chrimbo day ... Which really means you can still get cracking after Charlies speech A line or two of blurb as usual for the vote thread will be super duper smashing lovely. catch you later PS we can sort a photo out for the January challenge after Chrimbo

Normally I'd agree there, but...the SP212 isobaric configuration means that while it has two twelves it only has the output of a one twelve. A proper 212 will give the OP what he needs, save the SP212 for those gigs where it's enough on its own. -
Bought a SahBro? Brass Section Fuzz from Phil. Top man, smooth & easy transaction. Posted quickly. Recommended with thanks
