  1. Past hour
  2. Really is a lovely jazz this.
  3. Will take £495 for a quick sale.
  4. Think this fits what I was saying about our bubbles - I could do the 'Good Times' one as could probably millions who've heard 'Rappers' Delight' (137 million Spotify plays) but no clue about the Thin Lizzy one (106 million plays), though I know I've heard it - don't even remember it being bass-led! Edit to add I haven't a clue about Brown Eyed Girl bassline despite knowing the song! Is that iconic?! Isn't the Zep one guitar and bass in unison? Presumably that still counts. Meanwhile 'So What' played by Paul Chambers is probably the most iconic jazz bassline of all time (125 million plays), the whole song hinges round it and it led off the album that transformed jazz for the next 70 years... Different bubble again though!
  5. I`d say an iconic bass-line would mean that a song is instantly recognisable by it, from a majority. As above Another One Bites The Dust is a great example, even if people don`t know the name of the song or the artist if they recognise the song from the bass then to me it`s there. Billie Jean for me is another like this (though not sure how many people wouldn`t know it was Michael Jackson).
  6. Will do likewise
  7. Yes I was looking at this last night, some very decent reductions on some very nice instruments.
  8. Nice. I've been contemplating a sojourn into fretless territory. Thinking cap on
  9. Even in the unlikely event that the power amp fails spectacularly, Its a fairly easy job to replace the whole power amp with a MOSFET power amp module. I've done it a couple of times to rescue Trace amps from the skip. They sound sweet with the MOSFET power amp and are very reliable. GLWTS.
  10. A lot of nomenclature systems get messy over time. We don’t really know what LX stands for. Despite my speculation at Length Xtension, it’s more likely a reference to the layering of the wings as it came after the solid wing Euros. LT = No idea??? RST = Roasted (must be). CST = Custom Shop Top? XL (as in NS5-XL) must refer to the 35” scale. I had a ’01 and that was 35”.
  11. Another lovely Trace head for sale. This one has the 7 band EQ with a 300W amp. I've gigged this extensively with Stray and it's never sold me short. Internally, this has the 'Bi Polar Bear' power section, which was known to self destruct. This has been checked over and modded by my tech who has ensured the earth connection is solid with a star washer, and he's also coated a component inside with heat resistant compound, which prevents false temperature readings screwing up the bias. This was an official Trace Mod which is known to make these amps reliable. It's got the Trace tone in spades and plenty of volume. Two pre shapes and the ability to 'tilt' the EQ to make it either treblier or bassier, along with the well spaced 7 band switchable EQ. This one has come out of a rack, so comes with rack ears but no rubber feet (stick on feet readily available at your local hardware store!) £225 for this one collected from Milton Keynes - willing to drive a little way for fuel.
  12. 'Tis puzzlement for sure. If they have the chops to design and build good bass cabs they have the chops to design and build good PA cabs. On the flip side: The same absolutely applies to bass cabs.
  13. Fender blacktop jazz bass. Only played a few times, excellent condition. Includes original fender hard case. Made in Mexico, 2013 model. Champagne/pearl colour. I have swapped the pick guard for the purple tortoise shell. Original black pick guard comes with sale. A few of the pick guard screws have some rust on. All specs can be seen in the last few pictures. Sad to get rid of it but I am no longer the bassist in a band so have little use for it. Sounds incredible, the dual split coil pick ups give an amazing tone. Any questions feel free to ask.

  14. The Last Straw - Marillion
  15. No connection just thought someone might be interested https://fenderfever.com/collections/bass?filter.v.availability=1&filter.v.price.gte=&filter.v.price.lte=&sort_by=created-descending
  16. The NS2 has PJ pickups, the NS4 and NS5 both have dual humbuckers although the original NS5 had twin jazz shaped pickups (not sure if they were single coil or stacked HB). Spector has since reissued it as the NS5 Classic
  17. I couldn't bum-bum the bassline to Good Times or any Motown stuff, and I am a bassist. Sort of. Whole lotta love is a guitar riff. I'll give you Another one bites the dust.
  18. There's this famous photo of some really rare instruments (especially the lefties!) all together on one wall: Just incredible! I'd love me that lefty Coronado and that Precision, but it's especially the Telecaster Deluxe and the Mustang Bass that have me hankering.
  19. Come on @Quatschmacher we’re all on the edge of our seats for the verdict.
  20. Can't see any way to report this as fake on a web browser on PC, either Firefox or Chrome - no question mark on the screen. I have reported it via the Ebay app though (top right three dots, "Help & Report"). Not only has it got a higher price, it's even got a reserve on it.
  21. Hello. Im selling my Future impact v1 (updated to v3) +future compact rehousing. I just got a v4 so this is no longer required. An alternatibe colour housing is available if you wish. I have loads. This is serial 1111 that was signed by Andrew Sczsay himself. Cimes with original box and original housing. Posted for £150 ono
  22. Love the alphers, but that seems a step back for me, certainly the brown one.
  23. There are plenty of songs defined by their basslines but the great unwashed don't recognise them as such.
  24. The Chain certainly - Dancing in the moonlight? I doubt most people know that and when we went to do peaches our singer had never heard of it. The only way people have heard of it is if it was the theme song of a long running TV program or advert, hence the chain. Good times by Chic, Another one bites the dust by queen, probably whole lotta love by zepplin. Probably some motown stuff, like aint no mountain (esp as it was reused by amy winehouse)
