Does Your Covers Band Change Songs? What Changes and Why?
tauzero replied to Sean's topic in General Discussion
Oddly, it took months before I realised it was in 7/8 - I'd simply been playing what I heard on the original track and the guitarist was playing it right, it hadn't clicked that it didn't quite fit into normal length bars. I was in a club band which went out in various forms, sometimes the guitarist was the singer and other times we had a singer. He could hit the right notes, in the right order, but song structures were a bit of a mystery to him, so the rest of us were quite adept at following him into a verse where there should have been a chorus, or vice versa, or bringing the vocals in seven bars into a 12-bar guitar solo. Still, that wasn't permanent structure changes, they were very very temporary. -

It's how the last couple of basses I've had from China have been packaged.

Maybe the puns should be on another thread, for the purpose. Should we get gallop to run a poll?

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

I can cope with one or two frets. As soon as it gets to three, I've got no chance. Especially when they then throw a few barre chords in too for good measure. -

Beautiful instrument built by John In Derbyshire, well known for outstanding workmanship and attention to detail, this one is around 2017, it’s worth viewing the Shuker website to get a little insight into price and build etc. The body i believe is alder and there is a burl maple top, neck and fingerboard are maple with a flamed effect on the board itself, the fretwork is immaculate and overall this bass is very light. It is five string currently with a high C and the bridge is super adjustable in all directions, tuners are Gotoh and the active EQ like the pickups are Seymour Duncan comprising volume with push pull to dial in a separate profile, blend, mid, and bass/treble stack, the playability is without peer and apart from a couple of minor cosmetic anomalies as you can see in the pictures it is in great condition. The original hard case is included however I must insist on pick up from Halifax for obvious reasons. i think I have priced this fairly, reason for sale is that i am playing four strings almost exclusively in my dotage and this deserves to be loved. Contact me if you have queries and i will help if i can, thanks for your interest.

IMO Aguilar amps take some beating, I've been playing them for over 10 years now, but my replacement list would include Mesa Boogie 800D, Bergantino Forte HP2 and Genzler.

Maybe it's good for metal😉

At bang on £1000 and 800 watts, the Mesa 800D is certainly a contender.

Yeah, very sneaky, and a normal, trusting human can easily be tricked. Me, I'm not normal but still normally trusting. However, my hate for confidence tricksters is such that I actively track new accounts' activities - if and when I have the time.
-
Lithium, Nirvana. Drummer's choice for a new one in the set. I wasn't too keen when he suggested it but it does have quite a tasty bassline actually 👌
-
And there I was thinking I made a friend! Now you mention it, it does look like the work of AI regurgitating other posts. Sneaky.

A request from Talkbass. A transcription off a YouTube bass cover of the Extremundo tune, 'So Payaso'. I know nothing about the track or the player. Just a favour for someone who in need of a favour. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/so-payaso-extremundo-bass-cover-juanjo-puertas/
