  2. I've gone toilet the Dark(glass) side so this is now going spare. It's served me well over many gig s and recordings for four years without a hitch. Comes complete with soft carry case, midi cable, midi footswitch and mains cable. More amp sims and effects than you can shake a stick at. Will post at cost but I would prefer a meet up.
  3. Well, you've got me curious now. I'll lift the lid over the weekend and take some pics!
  4. Source Audio's LA Lady overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedal. OK this is built for guitarists but it will run all of Source Audio's bass presets quite happily, it's even the same colour as the Aftershock pedal! WIth all cables packaging and mains power supply. £100 posted to you in the UK
  5. Look at the disposable income of the groups. https://equalitytrust.org.uk/scale-economic-inequality-uk/
  6. The legendary Source Audio Atlas Compressor. I've had this about a year and I love it, however I've gone to the Dark(glass) side so it's now redundant. Any compressor you want and fully controllable with midi. Complete with original box, psi, control cable and USB cable. £170 posted to you in the UK

  8. From earlier discussion on this, GK is a smaller company than I expected. I wouldn’t be surprised if the website isn’t updated because the web guy is working on shipping the amps.
  9. The V4 had a little hiccup a few months back with a horrible cracking through the speakers, lightning inside one of the EHX KT88s and ultimately a fried fuse. The EHX are still currently untested but being safe rather than sorry, I replaced the fuse and installed some old SED 6550C that I'd acquired - these thankfully brought it back to life. They've been fine but I wanted something a bit newer and special for the big Trace so having done a bit of research, I came across these 'Linlai' branded '88s. Initially, I thought they were re-branded premium Shuguang but seemingly, I was wrong and it's a new factory set up by former emplyees of both Shuguang and Psvane specialising in big hifi tubes such as 845 and 811 plus smaller 6SN/L7 and ECC83/2/1 types.. With only about 45 mins on them so far, it's nowhere near enough time to evaluate them but initial impressions are very good. They look fantastic, biased up and remained stable after about 25 mins plus I noticed an exceptionally low noise floor - the V4 isn't noisy anyways but it was near silent with these. We'll see how they go - I got the best part of ten years out of the EHX (and there's a chance they're still ok) which is longer than I've had out of any other set that have ever been in there. Whether these will match the Russian built valves is yet to be seen but having paid £150 including delivery, the V4 feels great and I'm a happy camper.. 🥰
  10. Hey folks! 👋😊 Just wondered if any of you have any top tips for getting the best out of the MXR M87 Bass Compressor? I bought one a few months ago, to retire my long-serving Buddha Chakra. It's a great compressor, but I can't help feeling I'm not getting the best out of it at the moment.... With the Buddha, I felt like I could balance the overall signal more evenly, and give it a little more 'body' at the same time. It lifted the quieter notes and controlled the louder notes. With the MXR so far, I feel like all I'm achieving is some peak limiting. I know they're very different compressors, and I also understand compassion enough to not need a lesson in the basics, but if anyone has any good advice to get the best out of this pedal, if be very grateful! Thanks 👌❤️

go on, you never played effect pedal Russian roulette you've never lived - supreme confidence and you just go for it- like skydiving where you jump out the plane before checking your chute...
  12. We went to Lancaster Grand to see "The Stadium Rock Experience" in a 360 seat theatre. Not my definition of a stadium but what do I know. An eclectic six piece band called "Trigger" who play 70's, 80's, 90's rock anthems, so All Right Now, Free, Quo etc etc. The front man looks like he would rather be at home organising his vinyl record collection (thats a quote from their website BTW), more dad rock than anything else. A bit like Spinal Tap doing Bon Jovi and Queen and Quo etc. They don't take themselves too seriously and that's their saving grace. It's difficult to find a singer who can do GnR, Tina Turner, Bon Jovi and he doesn't try to. The musicianship was excellent, the bassist and drummer did just what they should do, the keyboard player had more sequins than Strictly Come Dancing, the female singer was very, very good, the male singer looked like me in a pair of tight leather trousers, not a good look TBH. The guitarist was superb. No idea who he was but he was brilliant. Did we think we had seen the bands when we left the theatre? No, did we have a good time? yes. Did people get up and dance? yes! Was it worth £20, definitely. A lot of tongue in cheek humour, they didn't take themselves too seriously, but played very well. The first five mins were hilarious as two out of their four mikes failed to work. Did they storm off, Like Axl Rose? No The bass player, Bob, kept the jokes going whilst the lead singer was desperately trying to fix the problem at the back of the stage. These things happen, it was just like Spinal Tap. Rob
  13. I've got one of these and it's effectively the TE Series 6 GP12 pre amp with an adjustable mid pre shape control. It cops the TE heft really well. FS-EQ12-DI – Ashdown Engineering https://share.google/lx57PeJ9I6rntwTU6
  14. Don’t believe loads of people are poor? Crikey.
  15. Thanks for that and the link, something I'd researched long ago. It has a lot of useful info on it. I learned quite a bit about the BTB after I stumbled upon it earlier this year. I'd still like to hear from any owners of BTB models - in particular if you have one made after 2010 And if so do you get a sore forearm from playing it ?🤕
  16. Now thats makes me jealous....

  18. Normally I'd be thinking about sticking up a poster and details for our next gig, but I've been informed that it has sold out already. Don't be too impressed. The venue is less than 100 capacity, there are 5 bands in total playing and the headliners, Social Youth Cult, are the hot new goth band who have just released their debut album.

Ah, I've built a few similar projects... Still, there's a huge unknown from mounting the board in the enclosure before testing it.... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
  20. Nice one. My wife is a lot more in to them than I am, although I do find their covers to be really well done. In fact my main band covers their version of Get ready/You really got me (not as good obviously). I wasn't aware they were coming over here until I saw it pop up on my feed this morning and I jumped on it. Most ive ever paid to see a covers band though 😀
  21. Anybody who's a fan of Manowar or Pearl Jam should be all over this. GLWTS
  22. For sale, a Hipshot Kickass bridge (4 string) in chrome. This has been hanging around in a drawer with lots of other bridges and bits and bobs. It looks new though I suspect it's been fitted previously (but not by me). It comes with the adjustment key, 5 screws and the replacement/extra saddles shown in the image. It's a standard replacement Fender pattern. The bridges sometimes come with a couple of springs but the latter weren't supplied when I bought the bridge. I should be able to ship for around £3.00 in the UK. Any questions please just ask
  23. Balls. Prices back up. Wish I'd spotted this earlier.
  24. A quirky gig last night.... My Wife & I went and saw the fantastic 'El Pony Pisador'. Impossible to describe but their wiki gets pretty close: "El Pony Pisador is a musical group from Barcelona that mixes various styles of folk and traditional music from around the world, including Celtic music, sea songs, bluegrass, tarantella and yodel." Great fun! We discovered them at Cropredy Festival in the Summer and loved them. Last night was in a tiny village hall near Chichester...
  25. Government keeps raising taxes Tim and you are correct people need to spend and government needs to raise funds to run the country. I also agree that we are not all poor but it really is a K shaped economy. Some people are doing fantastic. Some are really feeling the pinch and the vice is squeezing every last drop out of the low hanging fruit. This is the USA but we are the same: Now any rational person (this is not party politics) would look at this and think feck me the public are playing their part. Corporations are paying a tiny fraction and the interest rate on the deficit we have to borrow is enormous. Let’s try and balance the books, boost productivity, get people out spending, learning and becoming more productive, healthier and happier. Nope. Instead they cut social spending, tax individuals more rack up more debt, print more money to cover the deficit, watch the rich buy more houses, cars, stocks, gold etc and the poor get poorer as inflation rises and then rinse and repeat. I know I am a stuck record but honestly fcuk the lot of them. Particularly central bankers. They are either idiots or are genuinely sick in the head.
  26. I'm sure the old Sei bass website had a photo of this one on it for years. Fantastic looking bass!
