I use 1 finger per fret all the way to the nut... even on a 35" scale five string. I do have fairly long fingers.

Crikey you're all in the wars... I hope it isn't catching. Speedy recoveries @Bluewine and @Gasman!

It'll be good to hear how you get on with them. I've two gigs with my lowly RCF310's this weekend and I know they'll sound good with bass and drums going through them. The 710's should be even better. Good luck with the gig

Are these still available? Would they handle 250w?

I have a Nash P showing up in a few days and I'm going to go rounds on it. I have found myself coming back to rounds on my basses. Ideally I'd have flats on a J and P and rounds on 2 others, but for now I just swap strings and that works just fine. Been loving that old funk/disco tone with rounds on a P and the tone rolled back a bit.

Yep, they are both bog standard as far as I am aware.

An update as I started this . After about two months I put my La bella deep talking flats back on my P bass, and then even started to think about selling it. But having trawled through various comparison videos on the Tube, I thought i would try a set of La bella low tension flats. Have to say guys wow wow wow, love these, amazing tone really unbelievable tone, I had not expected such a variation in tone across the sets. totally sold on these now. It is always bit of an expensive decision to go and spend money on trying various Flats. These were not too bad at £42 but some are silly money. Anyway just in case any of you were wondering about these. well worth it. Back in love with the ole CS now.

I’m going through a busy period for some reason at the moment Daryl. Lots of stuff going on with the duo, the 3 piece blues band has a few gigs in soon including a couple of festivals, and I’ve just started a weekly gig at a local rock and roll club playing music for dance enthusiasts! I’d stepped down from the touring theatre band to reduce being away from home too much, so nearly all my gigs are now within around a 50 mile radius. Not sure how long things will continue but enjoying it for now! Hope your band gets the gigs you want / need Daryl, and that you quickly recover from your injury. I know what it’s like to be incapacitated due to an accident, so hope you’re soon over yours.

The Way Huge Swollen Pickle, which is essentially a moded Muff circuit, has low end and creaminess for days... I have used it a lot with octave pedals to create synth-like tones. Still want to get my hands on the Kasleder stuff, the Albatross sounds amazing... and I am now intrigued by the Freaky Stone!
