  1. Past hour
  2. yes I agree. Only reason I’m looking to sale mine is I’ve now got the nux mighty plug pro for home practice.
  3. It's never too early! 🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄
  4. To be honest, I'm a little excited for the livestream. I hope they announce 4.0, but I don't want to have any expectations. Let's wait and see
  5. I love the playability of Super Slinkys but I just kill them in a few days, really irritating as prob my fave string for comfort & playability. Sound really good too - before their imminent death of course.
  6. Reduced further for a quick sale, now only £1350
  7. Great colour.
  8. I've just stumbled across this upcoming 2025 tour of Quadrophenia. Pete Townsend's Quadrophenia - A Mod Ballet
  9. Thank you! I'll try to record more and cover more playing styles too! But yeah, the bass can be gentle when you want it to. In my experience, it is super responsive with my playing touch from mellow plam mutes, fingerstyle, digging in, hard slapping and even picking. I slept late last night just playing around with it and I wasn't like this when I had my first Fodera and Lakland USA lol
  10. Ive managed to find a guitar box, so delivery is now an option
  11. Contradictory as this may sound, if your bass sound isn't cutting through because it's sounds too compressed, are you using a compressor, and if so, which one and how is it set? I use a Diamond Bass Compressor and especially on Fender-style basses it really focuses the tone and makes it audible. The Diamond is a really useful tone shaping tool as well as a compressor. I've got the older 18 volt model, but the now version has a mid control as well as the shiftable frequency tilt added so it's probably even more useful. It's a really addictive sound.
  12. I'm selling my Sterling Stingray. I bought it here on BC three years ago and although I love it I'm just not playing it so it's time to find it's new owner. It's had mostly light home use since I've had it, I've only ever done 3 or 4 gigs on it. There are three tiny marks on the paint which are hard to see, aside from that it's in top condition. It's really light, the action is low and it plays like a dream. It's currently strung with D'Addario 35-95s. I also have a white 3ply scratchplate for it, I'll throw that in too. And it comes with a decent Ibanez gig bag as well. I'd rather not get into shipping so it's collection from London N4, or a meet up somewhere convenient. I do head up to Northamptonshire & to the Gatwick area regularly if that's any help. Any questions feel free to PM me. Cheers.
  13. Interesting. I have spoken with a few Stingray players (I owned an early one and have a Stingray type still) and many agree that the botttom two strings are great, but the top two just disappear when playing live.
  14. You could try a Lace USAB and blend it externally, can be stuck on with tape so no need to get the router out: https://www.thomann.co.uk/lace_pickups_ultra_slim_bass_pickup_usab.htm
  15. I’d definitely recommend checking out his album Ventura from a couple of years ago. Some great tunes and obviously some incredible playing too.
  16. As some of us maybe aware, Line 6 originally announced Helix on 11 June 2015 i.e. today is the 10th anniversary. @Paddy777 spotted that there's a livestream at 7pm and kindly posted the link and comment below 👇 which I've taken the liberty of pulling across from another thread: "That’s what the livestream is “in aid of” or that’s the justification of it, but they’ve really pulled the big guns out - they’ve invited loads of guitar influencers to Line6HQ for it and really built it up. The speculation is that they’ll announce Helix firmware 4.0 which will have NAM compatibility but that could be wishful thinking or completely unfounded - they might even announce or give a teaser for next gen Helix 2.0 but the counter to that is that the current Helix software is only 18 months old and so I’m leaning towards the former, but I haven’t got a clue"
  17. I’ll give mine a go. I love the Clear Driver Preamp. I’m definitely in gear heaven, it’s starting to get difficult to decide what to turn on to play with.
  18. Been eyeing up the Nordstrand NJ5 pickups. I lean more towards single coil sounds than hum cancellers but I do enjoy both to be fair.
  19. Freeze Frame - J Geils Band
  20. Instant Replay - Dan Hartmann
  21. Like you @Burns-bass, am album would be too much, but that clip brought a smile to my face 👍
  22. Last I heard, the Sadowsky single coils are a custom wind done for them by Seymour Duncan, based on the Antiquity vintage-style pickup. FWIW, I wouldn't be too hasty replacing what you already have. In the early 2000's I had a Fender America Deluxe Jazz Bass and it sounded fine with the stock Noiseless pickups. There's loads of great choices if you do decide to replace the pickups, though.
  23. One last try at £1750. If it doesn't go at this price I will just keep it for recordings and very short gigs
  24. Near half-way there (no singing) bump
