  2. Hi all, A recent hip replacement has gifted me something special: clarity and a frightening amount of spare time to play with my gear and even more hours to realise I don't need most of it. So here’s your chance to grab some gear that’s been gently neglected but lovingly appreciated. Recorded delivery within the UK is included in the price. If you’d prefer an alternative postage option or want a few more bells and whistles, feel free to get in touch to discuss. Unless otherwise stated, all items come with their original box and power supply Descriptions include links to the manufacturers’ websites. Go ahead, fall down the rabbit hole of overly poetic knob explanations. (‘Warm yet assertive?’ What does that mean?)” Mesa Subway® D-800™ Preamp - (No Power Supply). £150 Eventide ModFactor - All the standards - Chorus, Flanger, Phaser as well as Rotary, Tremolo, and Vibrato. (No box) £150 Eventide Blackhole - Pretty good reverb pedal. £140 XPND PEDALBOARDS Expanding Single Row - (No box or power supply) - £55 Ernie Ball Volt Power Supply - £80 RockBoard TRES 3.3, Pedalboard with Gig Bag - includes 2 sliding drawers (No box or power supply) - £90 IK Multimedia AXE I/O Solo Recording Interface - (No box, power supply or IK Multimedia Free Software) - £60 I can post in the UK only. EU shipping, however, involves a soul-crushing bureaucracy designed by someone who clearly hates bass players. So… no. Happy to answer any questions, though be warned, I’ve spent more time looking at these pedals than actually using them. They’ve basically lived a sparse life under soft lighting. No trades thanks, Regards, Neil.
  3. Tom's just bought my Fender Roadworn Flea Bass and the whole process has been a pleasure from start to finish. Great comms, prompt payment and lots of enthusiasm all round. Thanks, Tom! A highly-recommended BCer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  4. These are new pickup and bridge covers that I bought and never used. Various prices. The price advertised is just for a bridge cover. I don't know how to add the pics into the text. As said the P bass pickup covers are £12 each posted. The Fender Jazz bridge cover is £22 posted. P bass bridge covers are £ 12 each posted. The longer bridge covers I'm not sure about so £13 posted? I've had these awhile so they are not the cheap stuff you see advertised.
  5. The OP hasn't been back since the day he joined up so I guess nothing we say is of interest to him. Sad that!
  6. I suspect the band will be middle aged men grifting off the chance for a very comfortable retirement FTFY
  7. How come the Doors get two hours then?
  8. Had some finger joint problems a few years back and found a simple change of technique helped a lot.
  9. I have a modest TonePump "Mountain" of surplus post-Tonepumpectomy Tonepumps looking for the right TonePump procurer if anyone would like to cross my palm with a modest amount of silver. We have Mk1 and Mk2 options and they come with the pots pre-attached. I can even fit one if mildly cajoled and modestly bribed.

  11. It's absolutely brilliant in terms of creative walking bass. Veal is massively underrated because he is not noted as a flashy soloist but he is, for me, one of the greatest Jazz players of his era. Solid as a rock and drenched in the Blues.

  13. Picked this cracker up on here a few months back, played it for a week long run of Sister Act the musical in the theatre, sounded amazing! 14. I wonder if "Drum Off" was supposed to be an instruction to FOH when Metallica start up?
  15. That'll be me then.
  16. I hope Halestorm make the most of their one minute! It's more than they deserve.
  17. ... and you've still not sorted out your keyboard..? ...
  18. Really? 😉
  19. 20250628_195601.mp4 I finished work late on Saturday afternoon about 5:30, saw the Maiden fans heading for Canary Wharf tube. Stopped for a quick beer before heading home and decided to see if I could get a ticket. An hour and half later and I'm in the stadium with a front standing ticket...
  20. Can't wait to hear the Tool medley for their 20 minute set. It'll feature two songs, I hear 🤔
  21. I suspect the audience will be mostly middle aged men reliving their youth.
  22. How many kids can afford those ticket prices? Unless they blew all their instrument savings on a ticket? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  23. Remasters don't affect the levels of the instruments or vocals of the original. You need a remix for that. Having said that, adjusting the EQ and compression levels, which is pretty much what a remaster is, can enhance some elements slightly which can have an affect on how they sit within the audio spectrum. Its very subtle though and very subjective and usually defined with very nebulous phrases i.e "a little more air around the cymbals" or "slightly more authority in the attack" or similar. Check out the Steve Hoffman audio forums for further examples- and there are thousands- of audiophile nonsense.
  24. Perhaps its all in my head (but I’m sure it isn’t) that the USA ones simply do sound and feel better. The materials and components on a USA jazz and the build quality genuinely are higher. The modern ones much more so than the vintage ones (of which I have owned a lot of). I appreciate they’re basic designs and you’re certainly paying a premium for the brand over something like Xotic, but god knows what I’d do with a preamp like that! None of it really matters to 99% of the population, of course. My backup bass for double bass gigs is this £150 Bronco - which is fantastic.
  25. Agreed. And the CNC machine can't account for wood density or other variables. We were talking about this the other week on Mike Brooks' channel, where Warwick made several examples of the same model bass from the same tree, and they all still sounded very different to each other.
  26. What a legend.. Bought a bass for Pete. Fast , fuss free shipping and kept me informed the whole way. A bass chat beauty!
