  2. I see what's happened here. Words not thought through well, and doubt creeps in. The headless bass is however widely considered a perfectly adequate instrument for any phallic move. I have heard horror stories about U-Bass where bass guitarists have purchased these and quickly lost certainty that size doesn't matter. Please be careful.
  3. Anyone travelling from Nottingham to Bangor, North Wales?

  5. I still have this for sale, now price at £475 for quick sale before Christmas.
  6. Wise words!
  7. Wunjo's have always been great to deal with in my experience. Shout out to Tom H. and Laurence in the bass section. I have a friend who's also looking for a Squier P bass currently and has been to Wunjos recently. Would be hilarious if it's the same person.
  8. I may have just placed an order for one 😀
  9. I enjoyed your input very much.
  10. Around 15 years ago, I did a stupid thing. I sold my 1978 Gibson G-3. In the intervening years, the prices of second hand Gibson G-3s have gone through the roof, beyond where I was willing to go. So, thank you, Epiphone, for issuing this and helping me right a wrong in a more financially palatable way! You can imagine the smile on my face. It is, quite simply, amazing. It is a tastefully modernised G-3 - it frankly speaking feels better put together than my old Gibson G-3. The same oddly twangy but thick at the same time tone is still there, I reckon these pickups are on the level as far as recreations go. I do low level wish they had done clear covers like the 1975-78 G-3s, but these sound as good as I remember the originals sounding. The pickguard? Don't care, mate - the silverburst disguises it as far as I'm concerned. Because Andertons did individual photographs for most of their stock of these, I deliberately picked one where the burst lined up with the bottom edge of the pickguard, giving it context instead of just floating in mid air. I can't wait to take this to band rehearsals this week. Tonight I have mostly been playing songs I played 15 years ago with my first originals band - well, the ones I remember anyway!

  11. In fairness it should be a bit of a shout out for Wunjo as well.... especially as they have a decent selection. Plus they were helpful and very relaxed about trying out basses. They set up an amp and just said we could help ourselves which was great.
  12. Hey all, Bought a DI and all good, great comms, well packaged and perfectly described. Would deal with again no reservations at all. Peace.
  13. Puppet On A String - Sandie Shaw
  14. And another from Watanabe's 'The Spice Of Life' record; Jeff Berlin's bass part for 'Melancho', the opening track. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/melancho-kazumi-watanabe/
  15. Rag Doll - The Four Seasons
  16. I’m up against mr travis and his all-consuming GEAR maw no chance, I see that bass being dragged to a Manchester address, probably leaving scratch marks on the pavement as it is sucked in like some poor dachshund caught in a wizard of Oz style tornado Briefly. 😛 I Wish I could buy this. GLWTS
  17. I understand. I ask because they (Wunjo) usually are quite flexible on their ticket prices. Of course that means very little if the Dawson example just felt better.
  18. Two great posts, thanks guys 🙏
  19. Listening to them now, had never realised just how tight a rhythm section they were 👍
  20. Maybe difficult to tell from the photo but this is the passive Warwick jack, it looks to have 3 connections. On that basis, do you think it would work for and active EMG pickup?
  21. They have just restocked at my branch of Lidl.
  22. Hello, Up for sale is my Line 6 HX Stomp, plus a few other accessories. Altogether I'm asking £400 posted for this. I assume everyone knows what these do by now. I've had it for a few years, and used it a fair amount, but it's still in good condition and good working order. As well as the stomp, I'll include a Bright Onion momentary switch, which gives you the option to add two auxiliary footswitches. This was a custom order I requested to be in an MXR style housing, so it was easier to mount to a pedalboard. To go with this I have a Warwick Rockboard TRS 60cm cable, to attach the Bright Onion Switch to the Stomp. Also included is a Cioks Flex 8800 Current Doubler cable, and a Cioks 3050 Flex Type 3 cable. This creates an adapter that can power the Stomp using two outputs of your Cioks power supply. But if you want to use the Stomp just on it's own, I will also include a separate power supply unit that plugs straight into the wall. Somewhere along the line I misplaced the original power supply, but this after market unit does the job just as well. Additionally I'll include EBS ICY-30 Y-Insert Flat Cable. This can be plugged into the stereo sendof the Stomp, and then sent to two separate loops of other pedals, which can then be ordered with the other sounds in the Stomp. For instance I had the 'tip' side sent to my octaver, and the 'ring' side sent to my fuzz, and then from there you can use the Stomp's inbuilt FX in any position surrounding your real FX. Not pictured is the cable I'll include that connects the Stomp to your computer, so you can edit presets from there using HX Edit. I think that's everything. I'm happy to post this, but a buyer is welcome to collect if they prefer. Any questions, please send me a message. Cheers.
  23. I am sure there are already loads of these out there but proceeded with it nevertheless. The live version of 'Three Views Of A Secret' from the 1982 Jaco Pastorius Word Of Mouth Big Band album, 'Twins'. Some real challenges in the transcribing of this one due to Jaco's tasty double stops. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/three-views-of-a-secret-jaco-pastorius-word-of-mouth-big-band/
  24. if anybody is interested my jones 5 string is up for sale !!!
  25. I read somewhere that MB drivers were/are made by B&C (which would be plausible as B&C is an Italian company). Worth approaching them for advice?
  26. I picked up a Roland RD-700nx used from Andertons earlier this year, in mint condition for a mere £599 with stand and pedals etc. Yes it is a little bulky/heavy, but ticks all the other boxes
