Even with the image at full size, it is hard to make out the letters on your logo. All I get is "guitars" - just about. A larger logo would serve you well. I understand the desire to show as much of that wonderful grain as you can but there must be a better balance between the two.

NoirBass started following ALTO TS135S 15" PA Sub w/ soft cover
-
Space is at a premuim here so off goes another larger item. I bought this new a few years ago when I was supplying the PA for a lot of function gigs (That said it only went out with me a handfull of times as I had a pair of Yamaha DXR 15" as tops). It performed admirably and provide the well needed thump to the band. Its now probably been at least 18 months since I've used it so time to move it on. GOOD: Its in good, but obviously used condition. Its loud - we only ever needed one sub with the fella going. It works great with a pair of ALTO tops to make a compete PA. It comes with the ALTO branded soft cover too. BAD: It is seriously heavy - I've moved it on my own several times, but its much easier with two of you! price is fairly firm, but try me! Collection only please from North London - N21. Happy to demo before you take it, I'll even give you a hand to the car! I'll include the "No Drinks" sign for free and maybe even the wheel board if I'm feeling generous on the day?

Ah great that you were at the album launch! I was wondering if anyone from here might have been there last night. You’ll have to let me know next time you come to a show; always nice to meet other bass players on TDC gigs!

That's really good to hear, thanks for sharing. The Thomann own brand stuff usually punches well above its price point, just look at the praise that Harley Benton basses get. I've got a suspicion that the dsp and dsx range from 'the box pro' are probably as good as some of the offerings from qsc and rcf but I've never chanced the £250 to find out. I do love my Thomann Mix Six though!

Actually there is still quite a bit left beyond Newbury. Typical northerner 😄

Hokay, so to stave off the pangs of GAS (tho I'm struggling to find what I'm after (a really lightweight (<7lb) P)), and after giving my ancient gigbag a sniff (no sniggering, it's not an euphemism in any way), I decided to replace it. It's been used for more than 15 years at every gig now, and is showing the strain (as well as the stains) of a hard life. I found this on t'th'internet, and even though they're not cheap (£119 delivered), first impressions are very good. Here's a pic before I go any further: Not mine in the pic, obv - the giveaway to that is the mic; I have the dulcet tones of a donkey with a twisted ankle, and am completely at peace with that these days. Anyhoo, it's a joy if, like me, you happen to enjoy things being where they're supposed to be and having their own place. The two main storage areas have Velcro partitions (three at the top, six at the bottom) to customise the space, as well as two capacious side pockets, and there's a well-padded back pocket for a laptop/tablet. It sits upright, too, which is handy for packing/unpacking. It's actually smaller than my old backpack (a Wenger one), but I've got everything I use in there, including half a dozen cables, my Stomp, my Just In Case BDI21 (which is more totem than item, seeing as I've never had to use it - I think its mere presence makes other things keep working), power supplies, a 4-gang power extension, tools, batteries, strings, inears, wireless, etc, etc, and there's still room for more. It's a bit like a Tardis with shoulder straps... Build quality and padding is excellent, it'll be getting its first run out tonight, but I'm sure it'll make things easier. As mentioned, it isn't cheap, but I figured the last gigbag did hundreds of gigs over 15 years, so it's an investment.

At least, you tried it. 😉 That said, I'm a bit astonished by the hiss you get, and I think I know why: Your cabinet is unforgivable on this subject and amplifies any default (not a bad thing at all per se), but it's the price to pay for transparency. Good luck with your quest, and I hope the Eich will suit your needs. -

An almighty trip to the other end of the country for an Eagles tribute show in Newbury. Beautiful venue, and an appreciative crowd. Nice to bump into BC’s very own @alant!

You were lucky to have a Hohner back then, I started noodling a decade before you on a crappy Maya EB-2 with the strings at around 1 cm away from the fingerboard... 🤦🏻 And people nowadays are selling these pieces of shīt at silly high prices, simply because they were made in Japan... 🤢🤮

FS: Mesa Boogie Carbine M6 Amp, £600 o.n.o
silverfoxnik replied to silverfoxnik's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Morning Folks, Am having a rethink and refresh on the bass rig front, so this beautiful piece of Mesa Boogie engineering is back up for sale only I'm looking for £600, or near offer. See above for all the superlatives to describe this amp, but suffice to say, it sounds superb, with intuitive and comprehensive e.q., and more than enough power and headroom for most gigging situations. Postage isn't an option, but collection or meet ups in and around Bedfordshire SG19, where I live, or London, where I work, are both welcome and possible. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! Just goes to show that with genes and environment on your side anything is possible! Also growing up with all that awesome kit available in your own home - a far cry from the Hohner instruments into my stereo that I started with!

I bought a Markbass Micromark from Roberto. Great item, great price, perfect comms, immediate postage, an all-round absolute pleasure to deal with all the way. Thank you!

This is a great bass and I'm quite tempted to get it back! The original preamp was great but I missed the fact it didn't have a passive tone control, the same way the main Sadowsky preamp has. The RSDs preamp is basically the same but doesn't have the VTC which is quite critical to the Sadowsky sound. The glock preamp cam well recommended as a cheaper option to the Sadowsky as money was tight at the time. It's clean sounding, nice and transparent and a versatile preamp that really supports this bass.
