  2. it looks awesome i love the minimal setup! is that a ghostfire pedalboard? also where's that case from? i'd love one if it can fit a pedaltrain nano or a rockboard duo 2.0. can you send me a link please? hows the mantle?
  3. I saw them from a corporate box. It was well away from the stage and completely detached from any involvement.
  4. Sounds like a maybe then lol
  5. Thanks for this - I've updated the listing just in case
  6. Nice What was the venue? If you play there again let me know, I’m only 15 mins down the road!

  8. One more idea is to use a tone switch. Behind it there's a trimmer and a cap. Set and forget.

    Darkglass Anagram

I swapped out my Stomp for the Anagram. No regrets. After the comps were updated ditched my comp as well. There is less "stuff" available at present on the Anagram but I find its way easier to dial in a good sound. I now just have Anagram plus an SA C4. I use a Morningstar midi controller to give me a bunch more buttons and access all the patches on the C4. If I'm totally honest I could ditch the C4 for and probably go pretty much with just the Anagram but fun.
  12. Thankfully here's no such thing as failure below T2 for other musical stuff. Otherwise things would be evennmore pedantic than they are. I therefore propse for next year: T3 - other hobbies, T4 - technical crap that looked interesting at the time T5 - clothing other than replacement underwear, T6 - toiletries, T7 - food other than home cooked, T8 - food.
  13. Cowboy Song - Thin Lizzy
  14. Hi folks I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on an Anagram but I'm wondering how it would fit with my current board. Currently my effects are Cali76 compact, a Stomp XL, Dark Glass Alpha Omicron, a Strobostomp and a Jad Freer Capo. Currently I use the HX Stomp for modulation, octaves and that those kind of things and also triggering the DarkGlass overdrive. I'm using the stomp in the Capo's effects loop to position effects pre and post the preamp. I'm quite happy with the current set up but the Anagram is calling to me 😬. Currently the Capo is at the end of my chain and that goes to the desk but I'm thinking of having the Capo in the effects loop of the Anagram and maybe using it before the Anagram's amp sims and then to the desk. I could maybe dispense with a couple of pedals. Is that sensible?!
  15. My 75 Musicmaster with the updated Halon bridge. Absolutely love it
  16. 🤓 Stepped potentiometers do exist, but for a bass tone control you're more likely to see one of the solutions already mentioned, i.e. - A rotary switch that allows you to select different resistors - A standard smooth-sweep potentiometer attached to a stepped knob, as in the old Jazz basses; there's a special sprung washer underneath that clicks into notches on the underside of the lower knob as you turn it
  17. The straplocks are still available, DJ ‘65 I tried messaging you.
  18. It's funny how there are two camps which never usually acknowledge the existence of the other. Not enough information. If punters can order drinks without leaning over the bar screaming, might be quite ok, night not.
  19. We were nailed by a Nor’Easter , nasty business , and had to shovel out the plow , it was mid afternoon before everything was cleaned out. During a break I found an auction in Antwerp , and saw a Linhof 6x9 Technika IV camera. Now I’m a retired photographer , and am not shooting film these days , but I was seriously tempted to put in a bid just to play around with the camera. In a previous life I was a large format studio guy , and I’m very familiar with these cameras. Thankfully I did come to my senses. Close call. Would that be a tier 3 failure?
  20. But to get to live performance you have to had wanted to learn in the first place. I think the oportunities are reducing for that - and the locations. And however elvis was with a crowd, his last performance was 49 years ago, so for most people alive, he was just some historical figure.
  21. Yup. Not full-sized. I don't know its keybed though, and my earlier comment re Akai should've been worded more carefully. Some people report size is a huge issue; others that it isn't. Animosity then ensues. (Why the flying do they need to fight over this?) What I personally find to be a problem is that keys of lesser size tend to sit in keybeds of questionable quality (not always!), which potentially gives timing issues or finger tiredness or whatever. For myself I've decided to stay well away from slim, mini or nano keys. I can adapt, but I also note that the error rate goes up after 60 years of playing full-size keys. I don't know your Novation, but your Kawai probably is very good. Then again, for the Solina, you'd likely go for an electronic organ action AKA synth action anyway, and would then land roughly in the Novation landscape anyway. As said, even the three brands I mentioned vary wildly within that landscape. Also Icon's ranges vary considerably. As to the eBay one, Icon do name their MIDI keyboards to incorporate key size for the mini and nano ones, so you should normally know what you buy, but I cannot tell right now whether the mini and nano ones do have 5-pin MIDI. Somehow I doubt it.
  22. Not mine; just thought it should be put out there. https://www.hotpress.com/music/london-band-legss-appeal-for-help-recovering-multiple-instruments-stolen-in-dublin-23131270

  23. It's not like it's even a new thing! The stack knob jazz basses of the early 60's had detents on the tone controls back then (which someone on Talkbass pointed out would have been fiddly and costly to make). I like them and I think they're a good idea from a practicality point of view. You lose a small amount of very fine tuning within the 'sweep' of a normal control but most players would probably prefer being able to quickly get back to their reference point. When Jeff Berlin recorded the audio parts for his Bass Mastery books back in 2017 or 2018, he had the tone control on his bass held in place with tape, so that the sound of the bass would be consistent across all the different cuts and videos they recorded on that session. A notched control would have sorted that.

  25. So nice people are enjoying their Monzas, I had a funk /soul gig in a very large wine bar in Redhill a couple of weeks ago, full band , 3 piece brass section, all full on! Decided to use just one of mine rather than two because it wasn’t the easiest load in/out. Used with my puma 900 it absolutely ate it. It’s lovely when you have total confidence in your set up. .‘Appy days!! 😊
