  2. Whilst true, the harmonics of the hand position are relative to the string scale, which is compensated for by the angled pickups. One thing to note about the previous Dingwall models (Combustion/NG/D-Roc), is that the pickups inside the case are split coils, so the 'playing line' is additionally compensated for:
  3. doom woods - whitechapel
  4. Pretty much a bunch of older blokes with acoustic guitars and a flautist. So it was a pretty interesting sound scape although some of the lyrical themes are a bit dark (not too many bands out there doing songs about ageing and cognitive decline). I had a good time, plus I only needed to take minimal gear (one bass and a small combo), practice venue only 20mins form home. Musically it was interesting as they were very much into juxtaposing bright and dark tonalities. So I have a bunch of tunes to learn for next week and was very much encourage to bring along my own ideas as well. all in all it feels like a result to me.
  5. Apple airpods Max in as new condition, only worn twice and I cant use them due to Tinnitus unfortunately Price to include UK delivery

    Neural Quad Cortex

I'll be comparing the two and sharing my thoughts in time along with a full review. I'm also planning another review of the QC as there's lots to include since the last ones. I am mega pleased to see that the next OS update of the Quad Cortex is finally going to include both the amazing Cory Wong X and Parallax X plug-in, following today's announcement. I use the Cory Wong X daily and I've wanted the compressor and SSL desk model in the QC for..well, ever! Next I'm looking forward to seeing the Archetype: Petrucci X ported in too, my other daily driver for teaching, writing and recording.
  7. I knew you had a squishy hippy progger trapped inside that crunchy punk shell :-)
  8. Very advanced notice, but as Weeds haven't played in public for around 9 years I thought I'd mention it... Complete with psychedelic and electronica support and 60s oil projection! Tis in Chester, btw...
  9. I think the SP1 P bass type neck pickups solves an issue I have with multi-scale (admittedly it isn't an issue I've ever seen anyone else mention, so perhaps it isn't an issue!). Play horizontally down the strings and the usual multiscale pickup angle/position (like the bridge one here) means that you are playing the B string just in front of the pickup, but the G behind the pickup (green line). That has always felt like an issue for me - the tone playing the G relatively further back is different to the tone of the B ahead of the pickup. But now, if playing ahead of the neck pickups (yellow line) it at least means you are playing slightly ahead of the neck pickup on the B and on the G which I expect is a more even tone across all strings.
  10. Currently using QSC.K12.1
  11. stunning
  12. That fireglo is a stunner. Id love a ric (real or fake) fireglo at some point
  13. Do you want the measurement from the centre of the bridge or the lower edge of the strings at the bridge which is where alembic do the string spacing distance?
  14. NOW £80 POSTED Mackie 802 VLZ3 mixer Cracking little desk, I've used it for home recording and gigs - sounds great for both. Tons of features, great mic preamps, full working order, complete with PSU (euro plug with adaptor). Selling as I'm just not using it any more. Manual here http://kunstencentrumbelgie.com/overbelgie/802VLZ3_OM.pdf I'm in Manchester over the next couple of weeks - happy to meet at a services or even drop off if you're near the right motorway. Trades - I'm interested in Jamerson's original P Bass or *possibly* a compressor pedal - feel free to offer anything else.

  15. Line 6 HX Stomp - £380 Delivered in UK. Mint condition, boxed with PSU and manuals. I will also include 2 x external footswitches. The first is a great Pedalnetics which can sit on top. The second is a Bright Onion HXFS which is designed to match the look of the HX Stomp. Purchased in June last year from Thomann. I've only been using this for an octave effect for one song as the tracking is great. Selling as I need to reclaim the space on my pedalboard and so have replaced it with an OC-5. Potential buyers are welcome to try out in Glasgow.
  16. As some couriers may not cover guitars, or the cost of insurance can be ridiculously high, once you have found a courier, you could have a look at insuring through secursus https://www.secursus.com/en-gb/ They cover international shipments as well as domestic. I have used them several times when sending within the UK with parcelforce, however I have not had to make any claims so I can't comment on that process.
  17. It's the same bass. They told me the customer sent it back because they didn't like the preamp. I didn't mention the weight of it though? It seemed okay to me but then my Warwicks are heavier so...
  18. You beat me to it! That’s a fantastic looking bass. GLWLS 👍
  19. Just added neodymium button magnets on top of the jazz pickup pole pieces, which I poked into their holes. Makes up the huge volume difference.
  20. Moving on this tiny but mighty Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 10T Combo. The volume and depth of tone from this thing is astonishing for it's size. I used it on a run of festivals last year as my on stage monitoring with a 5 string double bass, with a drummer and various electric folky type instruments and it didn't even bat an eye. It sounds great with electric bass too, really clear and transparent. It's an easy one hand carry, has a tiny footprint of 35 x 30 centimetres, and the head can be removed for alternative uses. It makes 175w at 8ohms or 300 at 4ohms, and has a handy little kickstand underneath to angle it upwards. It's been around the block, and has a fair few chips and scratches, but nothing major, as can be seen in the pics. Everything works as it should, knobs are smooth and noiseless (well not smooth, as they're notched, but you know what I mean), and the handle on top is solid and secure. I'm afraid I don't have anything to post it in, so £350 collected from Bushey, Herts.
  21. What's interesting is the frequency/loudness curve that has perceived volume dropping off rapidly below guitar frequencies. Which is why we need more powerful amps than guitarists.
  22. Nice! That ticks a lot of boxes for me. Bass Direct have it on pre order at £1,950. I'd order one if I could be sure it would be 4kg or thereabouts. (I had a Combustion that was about 4.5kg and was too heavy for me. Competition with things like the Ibanez EHB range where a big selling point to me is they weigh about 3.4kg).
  23. Beautiful
