  1. Past hour
  2. Welcome Guillaume. You started earlier than I did, I was 55 when I first picked up a bass and as a complete non musician. I've played hundreds of gigs since then and at 73 I'm still gigging regularly and putting together new bands. It's been a hobby which has paid for itself but most of all a joy. There's nothing better than a room full of people having fun dancing and singing to the music you make. You have plenty of time
  3. And the missing piece of information from this reanimated zombie thread... Ibanez Precision?😂
  4. Su Casa es mi Casa - Infectious Grooves
  5. Glad you like it, I had one too, but strangely, out of all the barefaced cabs i owned (5) it was the one i couldn’t get on with.I suppose it did make me realise that i preferred cabs with tweeters
  6. It really is enormously versatile, like a more refined/polished version of my old G&L L2000. if finances allowed it would be a keeper, but my days of keeping a 'stable' are long gone (alongside the days of having disposable income 😁).
  7. I once did the equivalent of that in reverse. Played a good sized venue on a tour and put my amp on standby after the soundcheck. Played the first couple of numbers and could hear the bass from foh but nothing onstage. Wondered what was wrong until I saw my amp was still on standby!
  8. Today
  9. Many thanks! It's good to know that the current speaker isn't a total mismatch. I haven't had it long enough to use with the band yet, but I'll take it along to the next rehearsal and have a listen out for any distortion. There's definitely no wadding inside and I'm pretty sure no bracing either (I'll check again).
  10. For sale F bass BN4 of 2022. Perfect condition it comes out of the luthier for complete adjustment, new strings. Supplied with its F cover.

  11. I've just found this thread. I have, and won't sell, EA iAmp800, VL210 I've had and regret selling VL110, and a VL208 I've had and don't miss 2 x Wizzy 12" M line. They were good but not in the same ball park as the VL range. On Instagram, 10 weeks ago, there were a pair of VL208s for sale in the States.
  12. I bought this recently to control a few Source Audio pedals from a midi foot controller. In the end as I was using other midi devices on the board (and my amp) it was easier to just sit down and programme the controller manually with a pc. It's all there, all 5 trrs cables, psu and usb cable. I'll take £50 posted.

  13. Okay. You said the bass was less than a month old which drove the question from me. Thanks. Also do you know the weight at all? I tried one in Guitar Guitar in this finish and it felt like it weighed about 11 pounds or so.
  14. This bass is looking very familiar to me too. I bought it off ebay and traded it with @grahamd for an amp in 2009. Excellent quality instrument. IIRC the 'pro active' version was very rare.
  15. Ah great, been looking for one of these for ages. I'll take it! I'm based near Stratford on Avon, so we could meet somewhere in the middle for pickup? Also is there a message system we can use to organise further or just sort things here (sorry, new to this forum, made an account just for this!)
  16. V1 just at 250 V2 add 250 and 900 SGFX 250 500 900 as I said before I have never had a try on a Lustihand but totally a Diamond fanboy tragic👍
  17. Dianna Jones Rocks joins the party with Maple Road Blues Band THIS SATURDAY on the big ol’ stage at Old Falls Village Park! Bring your crew and grab some brews, and a chair, and maybe a blanket or snuggie, and join the party too! 5:30pm sharp! Please let this be a good gig. I really need it. Dep drummer though. Daryl
  18. Something like that Behringer is probably the best move. Regular mixers tend to only have a single headphone output, intended for whoever's operating the board to be able to solo channels. One caveat to keep in mind though, it looks to me like you can only have one pair of headphones listening to one of the inputs at a time. In your case, this is fine, since your wife would come in on the L of Input A, and you'd be on the R on Input A, so you can both hear each other no problem. If you have any thoughts of inviting other people over and using this though, or even playing along to backing tracks, you'll be out of luck. You could very easily pick up a cheap little analogue mixer though, take the two outputs into the headphone amps inputs and then you'd be able to add more people/tracks easily.
  19. I find it with a lot of companies, screws and other fixing hardware are an easy place to cheap out and save a few pennies for them. Odds are good you'll have some kind of fixing hardware specialist in your general vicinity, as I do, so in the event that I'm buying some hardware that needs screws, I'll go to them and see what the closest they've got is. A small expense for significantly better screws.

  23. Hi Summer and welcome. I am sorry for your loss. Played Billy Ray songs back in the day and as the bass playing vocalist on Achy Breaky Heart paid a lot of attention to your Dad’s bassline. Hope you get re-united with his bass. Paul McCartney was only recently re-united with his bass that went missing 51 years ago! Hopefully you can get it back a bit quicker than that. Cheers, Des
  24. Well, that is sort of what I thought, but this is a 4004L which is anything but vintage, but sure enough it does have twin truss rods that look just like the ones in the 4003. Luckily with the bridge drop and nut reduction, it is much lower than it was, so it isn't so much of an issue, other than there is nowhere to go if it was wrong, and I do need to change the strings, so my current dilemma is that I have a pack of 40-125s, and a pack of 45-130s!
  25. Or how many (because one is never enough) 😄
  26. Mi Amigo -Kings Of Leon
  27. This freaked me out so I had to google it. I found this: https://forum.bassbuzz.com/t/rickenbacker-truss-rods-myths-and-realities-revealed/29854 It give a detailed explanation (and also hints that more modern rics may work differently). There are hints that you might strip the truss rod threads or cause the fretboard to pop off, and that you will probably end up with more relief than you want because the process is so scary: What can I say? Good luck, and video the process, so if it goes wrong at least you can get a viral video on Tiktok.
