To be fair, many would say a bass player is nothing special as far as music goes.

There's a program to measure the latency with the output connected to the input. I'll get round to doing that eventually, when I've finished building the 8" cab and recovered from a nasty cold. I'm very good at procrastination.

I actually have a board for bass for the first time in several years. Mostly DIY ones I've made so I'll need to do some explaining. Currently bedroom auditioning pedals for a new band project so it's not very neat or portable. I'll explain them in rough signal chain order, right to left, bottom to top. Bugle - Simple Active EQ I think based on the EQD Tone Job (I needed one with side jacks) SIlver with scratched graphics - Schalltechnik compressor Revolver Ocelot - OC-2 clone Mario - Parasit studios 1985, multivoice digital synth Jet Set willy - Parasit studios multiwave mega, wavetable synth Boss LS-2 - The dirt pedals in the middle row are on the two loops for blending together. SIlver with white knobs - Traynor TS-50B clone (the tronographic rusty box is a ts50b clone) Monochrome (right of middle row) - ss/bs TAFM clone Bender - Brassmaster clone Ma Beagle - Chunk brown dog clone Small silver - Phase inverter for blending on the LS-2 Silver blue knobs - EQD Westwood clone Black with blue knobs - Darkglass alpha omega clone Duck tales (top right) - Chunk 00funk clone Sci-fi lady head - Boss dimension c chorus clone Space Koala - EQD grand orbiter phaser clone Silver yellow knobs - Boss BF-2 clone Water tribe - Fairfield shallow water clone Acquisitions Incorporated - EQD afterneath clone Futurama - Tremulous Lune tremolo Multi stomp is doing all the delays at the moment. Too much? If less is more then think how much more more would be.

Back on the cab after a break. Used the router to cut the baffle hole. Not sure if this is how other people use these things, but it worked! Drilled a hole for a nice fat screw to go in to a block of scrap wood, clamped in to the workmate. Spaced from the workmate with strips of scrap ply. Baffle clamped to the workmate so nothing could move. Nice clean round hole! -
Does me good to look at such a perfect example. Wow.

It's not on for nearly two weeks yet and I'm already getting annoyed at what the inevitable candidates will be.😄 Let me put it to you this way, I can already see three bass players who definitely shouldn't be included. 🫢 -
Weekend off for me this weekend but starting next week its every weekend until some time mid January if i remember right. All Sat nights except for the Fri and Sat before Xmas. Good thing is PA is supplied on both those gigs so its an easy load in and out for me. Got a rehearsal this Thu night to run thru the Xmas songs ready for some party night Glam fun. Dave

New Fender American Professional Classic Jazz Bass
Misdee replied to HeadlessBassist's topic in Bass Guitars
I've got a 2012 Am St Jazz with the Custom Shop pickups that I bought new at the time. Sounds as good as any Jazz I've ever played, vintage, boutique, Custom Shop or whatever. The neck profile is a bit of an acquired taste, but I get used to it after half an hour or so. Otherwise the best Jazz Bass ever for me. -

bass_dinger started following Anyone using an SWR Workingman's 10 or 12?
-
I only now spotted this thread. I have a Workingmans 12 - I assume that it is an early one, as it has a 3-digit serial number. I used it at church - 250 seat capacity, drum kit. Although we have a PA, and the SWR WM 12 has a DI out into that PA, most of the sound was from the stage. It sounded a bit breathless and shouty because it was working hard to fill the room, and to manage the low B. However, the gig didn't demand lots of trouser-flapping bass - instead, it gave me the musicality and definition that I needed It remains a great amp, which I still use for gigs. No plans to sell it on And to think that I am only up the road from you - I am in Swanley, albeit 6 years too late. Sorry that I couldn't give you a demonstration when you were searching.

dmc79 started following D’Addario Rounds
-
Never used D’Addario bass strings much other than some XLs briefly on a short scale I didn’t keep for long. Bought some XT on here, fitted today and trying to play the fresh string zing and squeak out of them. Just wondering what the difference is between their rounds. XL seem to be standard, not sure what NYXL offers, and XT has some sort of corrosion resistant coating, but the coating isn’t particularly smooth. That said, I’ve been going back and forth between Fender 9050 flats & GHS Pressurewounds, so most nickel rounds are gonna feel cheese grater like I suppose. What’s meant to be the smoothest feeling D’Addario round? Which have you tried and liked or disliked for whatever reason? I’m not insistent on staying with D’Addario, just curious as I’ve never played their bass strings much. Also the XT might be fine once they’ve settled in, but one video I saw had them dying off pretty fast. Suppose really I’m just after a nickel round that’s as smooth as possible. Is the Elixir Nanoweb coating very smooth feeling? GHS Pressurewounds are definitely quieter in terms of finger squeak, but I’m not a massive fan of the feel and stiffness of them (even the medium lights) and they’re also a bit too middy for me, where I want something more well balanced all round. Appreciate any replies

Hey peeps, looking to buy a pedalboard and power supply but as it’s new to me the would like some advise. My pedal will be a tuner, empress compressor, zoom ms-60b+ or ms-70cdr+, genzler 4 on the floor and ditto x2(may change to ditto+ as smaller). Not looking for a silly expensive pair. I have read about noise. How do you guarantee you get no noise? I’ve seen some cheap ones like lekato https://amzn.eu/d/5zJ1Moz what the best approach to this. I get overwhelmed by loads of options easily. oh and cables what to use? I have seen some come with cables. cheers

Bought some vintage Ashdown stuff from @harrison and all went very smoothly. Excellent comms, quick transaction, and very happy with the deal. A sound bloke to do business with, many thanks, DG.

Selling this great outboard bass preamp on behalf of my friend Alex Lofoco. The preamp is currently in Rome and can be shipped from there or from London when Alex comes over next. This is the original Sadowsky Outboard preamp which was built by Fishman - this particular unit was made on Dec 14th 1992 and and includes a belt/strap clip and a battery compartment. Any questions, let me know!

Can't see any reason that either of them would not be able to receive messages, or you not able to send them. Try again and see if it was some temporary passing gremlin?
