  2. @jimbobothy Hi, I've got the origin effects bass comp and thinking about getting the DCX bass pedal. I think that you have this combination. Wondered if you could offer a view about what the EQ is like please? Like you I wouldn't be using drive much at all as I much prefer a cleaner sound. Appreciate any views you are able to share and I realise that this is all highly subjective! Alan
  3. Lovely bit of kit. I have a NAD 533, which is a rebadged Rega Planar 2. Rob
  4. Mine doesn't drop the signal, and it isn't touch sensitive or anything, it is just very noisy, If I connect the receiver to a normal 5M+ guitar lead via an adapter, it is absolutely fine, but that really isn't the point! Its fine for at home though, so now it is my home device. It was actually ok if you didn't use overdrive or something gigging, as the noise was below the guitarists noise, but put any drive on it and it got very bad.
  5. It does indeed. It's 8.2lb 👌🏻
  6. The quickest way to do it is to go to Support at the top and send a support request, saying you want to change your email, what your email is and what you want it to be, and then it can be done.
  7. Unless there's anyone on the list, then nobody specific. Basic setups are a breeze to do (intonation etc.) but I'd be reluctant to break out the soldering iron or do fret levelling.
  8. I have had this with a few vintage bass cases, it’s hard to totally get rid of the odour , leaving outside in the sun didn’t really help, I have got some of those fresh smell pouches in the pocket of the cases which does help, also be careful what you use on the fabric so it doesn’t affect the finish on your bass, especially if it’s a nitro lacquer
  9. Sounds like a plan - I’m in Burley, just short of Ilkley. PM and we can sort out logistics?
  10. Great, can I take it please. Are you in Ilkley? If you are I could collect it from you as I’m in Harrogate. Cheers Andy
  11. I've found that the BB range has been consistently excellent at all price points. It's one of the best sounding PJs out there, and they are always well put together whether at the budget or MIJ end of the spectrum. I always loved the '90s BBNs ones with the soapbars and quilted maple (although I think the cheaper versions used paper 'foto') tops. I was never quite so inspired by the TRBs - they have a very clean almost Spanish guitar sound going on that is fine for soloing but isn't really my thing - I always preferred Patitucci's Ken Smith sound for example.
  12. Weeks like this week are a struggle. One member of the band, their circumstances had changed meaning we couldn't practice for the foreseeable future and we couldn't book gigs. However, they didn't see the problem and ultimately it was decided to part ways. So here I am again, trying to find a replacement. It's frustrating to say the least.
  13. Yamaha Guitar Development (their custom shop) do a fair amount of one off models for their Artists. Some cool things and ideas that I would love to see for sale, but Yamaha don't seem to have that as part of their business model https://yamahaguitardevelopment.com/
  14. Noll with volume (push/pull for active/passive), balance, tone, bass, mid, treble yes it comes with new gig bag
  15. 34👍🏽
  16. It is indeed!
  17. I had to use my Lekato over the weekend while the Xvive was charging. Just at home. I can't believe how susceptible to interference the Lekato is. Just tapping it while it's plugged in to my EBS Micorbass produced a noise. Maybe it's faulty, although has never actual dropped a signal.
  18. I have never tried this pedal myself, but it has "Filth" and "Dirt" knobs. So, maybe worth checking out.
  19. Mr Wailer bought my Mark Bass Vintage Preamp. Very quick payment and let me know the minute it arrived safely - that's always welcome with the too-often terrible service we get from couriers and so on these days. Hope you enjoy it!
  20. Today
  21. Ugh. If there's one type of pedal that you can't really draw a consensus on from merely listening, its a synth pedal. Is it worth watching?
  22. Well, I’m near the 1st jcn on the A/M20 inside the M25 and can generally be in ‘whenever’ as I’m retired. Totally understand I’m an ‘unknown extra’ in all this but the offer is there if you feel it helps at all.
  23. That’s a fine collection there
  24. Hi, Is this still available? Cheers Andy
  25. The Akai Midimix is a great addition to an MPC: On an Organ preset I use it as the Organ drawbars, and the dials are mapped to mirror the delay and reverb screen, so you can do stuff like increase the delay feedback and reverb amount at the same time - which is tricky to do on screen or with the MPC dials. I also use it like a sound desk mixer, e.g. A slider for Bass volume and dials above it for some Bass EQ and Gain control, another similar thing for piano etc. The only trouble is remembering what you've assigned things to do if you get more complex and change things around for different presets. I'm considering some sort of interchangeable overlays I can label - something like this https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1782574539/akai-midimix-overlay-blank-template)
  26. You've got a very good ear, Darren, did you come to a conclusion?
