  2. they are totally different beasts. I'm a P bass man but have a 4003 for the Jam tribute I'm in. It won't sound like a P bass in many respects. As someone has said, both pickups on but roll the neck pickup back to about 3/4. That will give you the sound But flats will change it again. I saw a Kinks tribute and he had flats on and it sounded amazing
  3. Money Made Me Do It - Post Malone
  4. If you are Windows user, good luck with getting rid of all things 'UAD' after any deletions. It's an annoying process to eliminate all folder and file debris. Apart from the usual automatic delete process, you will then have to manually go from 'Start Up', right through the 'Reg Edit' files and folders. UAD doesn't want to let you go, that's for sure!!
  5. Yes he was no, the cat was called Hawkins
  6. Landing the eBay contract is massive for a courier firm so I imagine eBay bring to bear equally massive contractual clout including ‘you lose it you pay for it quickly’ type conditions. Huge companies like eBay probably have more chance of sorting the courier industry than do governments 🤔
  7. Thanks, what about my first question? Also do you have something decent to package it up with for a safe courier journey?
  8. You can pm me ..

  10. Any suggestions on where I can get a replacement or is this way too complicated for a simple man like myself to do? TC does not have support aside from Music Tribe which offers zero support in Canada.

  12. Beautiful bass - if this was a five you'd have my money!
  13. How Much Did You Get For Your Soul ? - Pretenders
  14. This ^^ The FBT Vertus was only a suggestion based upon "if it reduced the weight of each individual element as we’re all getting on these days". The Subs are 2x8's not light, but small and portable. The sound overall is really impressive and the kick drum was really nicely rendered by them. The 6x4" columns with four tweeters as well gives you so much more midrange than the 2 or 3" full range speakers you get in the budget sticks. The other option in your price bracket that would avoid a heavy lift would be a couple of smaller conventional point source tops with subs. You don't need 15's with subs. 10's or even 8's will cope with the frequencies above 100Hz but some of the smaller speakers have limited sensitivity so you'd need to watch that.
  15. Evri seem to have improved of late. Our local drivers have always been good, it's been the bit in the middle where Evri let you know that a parcel has disappeared into their cavernous maw and you know it'll be a week before it gets regurgitated that's been the bad bit, and that seems to have speeded up of late.
  16. Yes, fascinating . Ringo... best actor, best dancer, given the 'intellectual' lines and spotted playing the piano...
  17. I've caved. I'm in a band where certain songs can be done in up to 3 different keys, a few semis apart, to suit the vocal register of whichever of our singers is taking lead on a particular night, so this could potentially be a game changer and has rightly pushed itself to the front of the queue, ahead of a couple of more exciting/fun pedals on my wish-list - but which would have been more icing and less cake. Should be arriving next week, fingers crossed.
  18. I also have a more general question about tracking and strings/instrument EQ. Are spanking new roundwounds likely to track better than older? How about flats? What about the effect of tone controls on the instrument itself? Or pickup position? Any safe generalisations? It's possible I've asked something similar before, in which case forgive me.
  19. Brilliant! Can't wait to give it a go. Amidst all the focus on preset management, I hope the idea of changing a subset of the default presets (ideally the first bank) to some of your more 'classic' bass sounds hasn't fallen by the wayside for any upcoming release. For obvious reasons I'd think it a particular selling point if one of these was a sound with e.g. square/pulse and saw layered.
  20. I’m sure you’re red faced about the whole thing
  21. After that … I’ll get it for you
  22. Vincent - Don McLean
  23. I think most people who have been gigging for a while have played to the one man + dog at some point (one spent the evening reading a newspaper!). My personal worst was a wedding where we played to the bride, groom, maid of honour and 3 or 4 other people they managed to drag along after an hour of phoning around. We didn't ask the details but can only assume it wasn't a popular joining of families. You can't take things personally. You can only do so much. You can't always predict the situation at the time you book the gig. All you can do is make sure it's on people's horizon (create Facebook events a month beforehand, followed by a photo post a day or two in advance as a reminder). Some venues are great at plugging what's on, and are usually successful. Other venues just don't seem to have a clue and expect a crowd to materialise on the night with no notice. Then there's also random factors - weather, sports events. Oh, and one of our USPs is that we DON'T do Dakota, Brightside, Oasis, etc. We're 70s "dad rock" and proud of it 😂 And wear shorts when it's hot 😜
  24. Yes, you're right, I can see the T of logo now you mention it.
  25. Yeh, that looks like it! A few differences, but could be an older model. It is ridiculously light though, like lighter than a guitar light.
