  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah a studio I know has Ampeg heads and 810s at moment, they’re looking to change the amps to TE Elfs. I do wonder how long before someone pilfers one.
  3. I like them both. Easy on the ears and plenty of interesting parts to follow. Reading the band members list made me smile 🤣 Is that your real name "Cardigan Fitzbadley"? 🤣 The Roster: BVs: Deanna Lead guitar: Johnny Bandit Acoustic & electric guitars: Hardliegh Worthit Bass: Cardigan Fitzbadley Keys: Dr Conquest Drums and percussion: Justin Thyme
  4. http://www.howardsmith.co.uk Can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s great.
  5. Anyway you slice it - Kiss
  6. Yes, it’s still available.
  7. When they opened up I put them in touch with Ashdown to kit out the rooms with ABM heads and cabs. Mark Gooday did a fantastic upsell and they ended up with this as well 😆 Thesedays they have a mix of old heads people have donated them alongside the Ashdown heads. About a month ago one of the donated Markbass heads was nicked by some bastard. I told them to get rid of the light stuff and stick more ABMs back in…
  8. Most of the time, it's personal opinion. There are very few objective absolutes. I thin we can all agree that Mrs Brown's Boys is execrable unfunny rubbish though.
  9. That's a hell of a rig for a studio 👍
  10. I honestly wish they'd have put the Epiphone logo in the same orientation as the Gibson one.
  11. I did have a spare set of old 80s BB tuners from my Yamaha days, but I don’t think I still have them. I will double check.
  12. Stretch..? S'only fifty-odd miles..!
  13. My local studio has an original Ashdown King Combo - the ABM900 with an 8x10 cab as an all in one, heavier than the sun, back-breaking monster in a flightcase (ish). Sounds pretty good too.
  14. Revisited one of my favourite Dream Theater records recently (Awake), which produced this! To this day Awake still contains some of my favourite progressive bass lines (Voices, Scarred, Innocence Faded, 6:00, Lifting Shadows)
  15. Hi, thanks for the info. I'm in Cambridge so bit of a trek to try the bass out I'm afraid.
  16. The Taylor Eigsti group (Jonathan Maron on bass) at Cadogan Hall Jonathan is one of my favourite people and an incredible bass player to boot! Can't find any good footage of the new group so here's a video from their last tour!
  17. Cuts Like A Knife - Bryan Adams
  18. Yeah I can't say how it works, but it definitely appears to work! It also turns out I "like" the settings I think I should like. I scrolled through the Cali76 captures until I found one I liked (no.29). When I saw that on CortexCloud they had annotated the captures with their settings, I went out to find a fast release/slow attack at a 4:1 ratio. Which capture was it? No. 29!
  19. All put together. Sounds loud and deep as hell, but still a little muddy around 200hz. Sounds like many other bass cabs I’ve heard though. Maybe my tastes are a little different. I don’t go for the super flubby bottom end - I like clean and tight. Actually prefer the sound of the Beyma in the Peterson box as-is! I see a twin 8” build in the future…
  20. I think it was the first one out in 2025 so I'm not even gonna attempt 2026!
  21. If you can stretch to Leicester, I can very much recommend Howard Smith for guitar work. He’s done all manner of work on my kit and that of many of Leicester’s gigging musos for years. He’s a top man.
  22. Today
  23. Nice acquisition Neep, enjoy! Not helping my Grabber GAS mind...
