  2. Hi H = 44cm (incl feet) W = 47.5cm D = 40cm (51 P bass pic for comparison purposes!)
  3. Big and heavy!!!
  4. Even though PMT (and other big chains) have sadly shut down, music shops still seem to be viable in the UK. We have.... The specialists who sell just one type of instrument: eg The Gallery, selling nothing but basses and bass gear. Add to the list of specialists Just Flutes in Croydon, T A Craig (a violin shop in Sevenoaks), Laurence Dixon for Double bass, sax.co.uk The quirky: Hobgoblin, for folk instruments. Richards Guitars for high-end acoustic guitars and mandolins, with each instrument set up before it leaves the store. The traditional shops which provide excellent service: people here often commend single-store music shops, and which have built a good reputation. So, Rich Tone Music in Sheffield, and Rock Bottom in Croydon. As @SumOne describes them, such shops are "a go-to hub for musicians ". When I go shopping for an instrument, I want a seller who knows more about the item than I do - not someone who got a discount because they bought 20 boxes of guitars, and needs to shift them quickly.
  5. Anus of Uranus — Klaatu
  6. very nice finish ... I got more or less a similar effect, using the raw linseed oil from liberon I found on sale in the hardware shop close by
  7. Mutter mutter 5 string mutter cough mutter
  8. Never see the Japanese ones for sale. I was starting to wonder if I was the only one to have a one. That seems like a very good price.
  9. Weird thing is, I am half way through a novel. I picked it up lunchtime and, two pages in, there is the word 'lugubrious'. Three times in one day? Who'd have thought it?
  10. ...it's not only the look These are fab basses. I just came out of 'Musik Produktiv'-Shops doors (Thomann & Produktiv are the 2 biggest in Germany). actually i played a 'Merak' 10min ago... it's 3900,-€
  11. It's even worse. The E112 contains higher spec components than the K12 - larger voice coils in both the LF and HF drivers. I'd guess an honest power rating for the K12 would be 300 watts. Problem is, if they published the honest rating, nobody would buy them because the competition are pulling the same trick. 😀
  12. I have a Pau Ferro fingerboard on my Sandberg Lionel and I love it! I've seen examples that look pretty pale and bland, but the one on mine is grainy and colourful and looks fantastic IMO. It's also not nearly as porous as rosewood, but much more dense like ebony.
  13. Cre8audio West Pest Westcoast Style Standalone Semi Modular Synth Here’s my West Pest synth. It’s a design based on Don Buchla’s west coast style synthesiser concept. Made by Cre8audio in partnership with Pittsburg Modular. It’s got a built in sequencer and is very powerful for a small form single oscillator synth. It can be used as a standalone synth in its case with independent PSU (included) or added to a eurorack system. It can be patched with any modular eurorack or similar module or synth. In excellent condition. I own two with one in my eurorack so this isn’t getting the attention it deserves. Great little easy to use synth to introduce you to modular synthesis and patching. It comes boxed with four patch leads, PSU and quick start sheet. Full manual online. Price includes UK postage. Info here - https://www.cre8audio.com/westpest
  14. Yamaha DXR 8 Active Speaker This unit has been used as a keyboard monitor and comes with brand new Yamaha outdoor semi waterproof cover and mains lead. It is in good condition although it has lost its control knob caps. Everything works as it ought to. It is in very good cosmetic condition It’s very powerful for an 8” active cab. Great little multi purpose speaker. The original woofer has been replaced with a recommended Fane equivalent. Power Output: Dynamic: 1100W (LF: 950W HF: 150W) / Continuous: 700W (LF: 600W HF: 100W) Frequency Range: 57Hz - 20kHz Inputs: XLR-3-31 x1 , INPUT2: Phone x2, INPUT3: RCA PIN x 2, THRU: XLR3-32 x 1 (Parallel with INPUT 1 ), LINK OUT: XLR x 1 Pole Mounts: 2 options - 1 straight and 1 angular socket for mounting at downward angles Dimensions: 280mm (11") x 458mm (18") x 280mm (11") Weight: 13.5kg (29.8lbs) Pickup preferred but I can post at buyer’s cost. It is very well built and the packed weight will reflect this so I envisage it will be around £20 to post it. UK only. Priced to reflect the replacement driver and lack of control caps.
  15. Doesn't really need an XLR. The jack outputs are balanced already. Electrically identical.
  16. And they had to stop after Trading Standards reminded them it was illegal.
  17. Their returns go to a UK address, so I suspect this is their distribution hub for out and back.
  18. Trades? Something might get my attention!
  19. Only stiff compared to rounds.
  20. Indian Laurel is a shitter, which is why it hasn't been used before. In some countries it's know as 'dog turd deluxe' but I forget which. Pau Ferro however has been and as mentioned above, is between Rosewood and Ebony in terms of feel. I think it looks great in the flesh too and makes me regret not buying a Victor Bailey.
  21. 3 hours is the point where creativity and concentration die...
  22. I'm not convinced the old gear is better, but it can be very good.

  24. As Line 6 have kept the Helix nomenclature, I would make the (perhaps rash) assumption that HX Edit will also be used for the Stadium, which means an updated version will be coming on the Stadium's release. Also, the release of the Stadium might mean a firmware update to the older members of the family. Presumably Line 6 don't think that this announcement will cause sales of the top end Helices to drop off while people wait for this, as there's such a pricing gulf. Of course, if they've got a few Stadium Junior devices lined up to replace the Stomp sub-family, they won't want to announce that until they're ready for release.
  25. Today
  26. Is the bass in question fretted?
  27. I still want them to put the guts of the current HX Stomp into the case of the POD Go Wireless, so you have a proper, small one-box gigging solution that's more usable than the current HX Stomp and less of a compromise than the current POD Go, and has the built-in expression pedal, wireless system, etc. They could rename it the HX Go. It could stand to gain an XLR output too, perhaps.
