  1. Past hour
  2. Some close ups as requested.
  3. As soon as I saw it advertised online I queried the weight (too much experience of purported sub 9lb Musicman basses... that aren't). When they put it on the scales and gave me a money back guarantee that it was that weight, I snapped it up.
  4. Why humanely?
  5. Love that fact (and loving your music too!) When was the Friday rock show?
  6. Can You Dig It? - The Mock Turtles
  7. And in not doing so you have un-knowingly added yet one more nail in the coffin of free speech and free expression. You, ie humanity cant have it both ways.
  8. Everytime fast speed - Donna Lee.
  9. We were originally a 4pce, but the original bass player left. The remaining 3 of us are original yep…. I was the singer, but also took over on bass when the original guy left around 20yrs ago.
  10. Wow, that is an absolutely stunning beauty of a bass ❤️
  11. I could do £150 but I’d have to put the round wounds back in and sell the flat wounds separately
  12. Hi John, your Sabre sounds like a keeper! I had a 1990 Sabre which was 9lbs. The 2013-2016 Classic reissues were from my own experience as well as what I've heard from other owners, mostly on the heavier side of things. Keir
  13. I did, and do you know what? I really didn’t like it! It sounded a bit too “hard” to my ears and the power amp side was really hissy/noisy when only turned up 40-50% By comparison, the PJB D400 was pretty silent on the power side, but was too noisy for me at the preamp stage. To be fair to the GR, the preamp/DI was really quiet. Having to disable the fan every time I turned it on was tedious. So, this too has gone back. The next step will be to try the Eich. Did I mention earlier that I’m really picky? I sometimes envy those who just buy stuff and get on with it…
  14. Yeh never liked the bridge with the mutes! Wayyyyyyyy to big but after that with the extra bolts is perfect to my eye, that’s gotta be a better design than a ‘bent tin plate’ just screwed in🤷‍♂️ that’s what sets the stingray apart, I’m quoting the tin plate from Fender forums!🤣
  15. Any interesting trades ?
  16. Wow, you guys have been rocking solidly for 45 years - respect!! No line up changes in all that time?!
  17. Great set list @lozkerr
  18. The V4B is possibly the best combination of tone and versatility that Ampeg produced - it does lovely pre and power tube stress albeit at usable pub/club/venue volumes - in a unit that utterly defies the 100w designation 👍
  19. Funny you bumped this. I saw your listing on eBay and im trying to rationalise having two p basses. 🙈
  20. Today
  21. I think the main reason is to reduce the weight of the bridge and the overall weight of the latest Special Stingrays. The machine heads are also a reduced size lightweight design. As long as the bridge plate is well secured to the body there shouldn't be any noticeable difference in sustain. The classic pre EB bridge looks great but probably weighs twice what is necessary.
