The Am Original series basses are definitely marmite - Personally, I’m firmly in the fan club. The neck profile/radius in particular (and the clay dots) sold it for me. I have a 60s P and J from the Am Original series now and they’ll be the last ones out of the door. Got both for less than £1300 each second hand too, so not as steep as the AVRI. People who are considering buying should definitely try them out though. I have a 2003 AVRI Precision and it’s a wildly different feel to the Am Original!

@andyhaines, there's an Eich T-300 in the classified at £460... -
This is exactly the principle of a sitar saddle just as I mentioned it in my post above. 😉

I decided after many years of playing to treat myself to a Whirlwind lead. Plugged in, played, didn’t make 2 minutes, it’s going back, sapped loads of top and bottom from the sound. Gonna stick with my fairly cheap Fender Professional leads, which sound the same as my BOSS WL20L wireless kit.

£50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

My guess would be as he slid the bridge pieces back a flat plate came into contact (or very, very close contact) with the string to emulate the mwah produced by a true fretless string vibrating on the fretboard. Instead of the mwah being produced just in front of the finger itself is produced just in front of the saddle. It sounds surprisingly effective. Slides obviously won't work but no intonation issues as with actual fretless.

I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁

Fits a 2EQ or 3EQ Stingray with truss rod wheel, so approx 1990-2018. Made by the people in California that produced the original EBMM matte black pickguards back in the 90s / 00’s, this is one I custom ordered a few years ago. But my bass is now HH so I have a similar replacement. It’s got some scratches, as pictured, but you don’t want a shiny new pickguard on your 30 year old instrument right? 😊 £40 collected, or I can post via Royal Mail at cost.

that is the version i tried , diPiazza. it was nice. the very moment you played bit more powerful more 'flesh' to the string)) the sitar'ish sounds came up. tempting if i could get one of those again...even if it wasn't 'real fl-playing'. i missed the slides. ...and yes, difficult set up

The problem is that Robert Neuser disappeared from the radar a few years ago, so finding an NFS will be quite hard and it's a pain in the derrière to set up, but when you've found the perfect set up, it's working great. And there is also the Dominique Di Piazza fretless bridge which is derived from the NFS and will make your fretted bass sound like a fretless all the time. Mike Sabre made two fiver bass models for him that you can buy. A friend of mine owns the first iteration and may be willing to sell it (and as you live in Germany IIRC, the bass is in Brussels, so easier for you, should you be interested). This is the second version, the first one is way more standard in terms of design.
