  2. @Frank Blank has frequently been jumped upon by Icelandic air hostesses or so we're told...
  3. Gin & Juice - Dre/Dogg
  4. Chris May often checks in here, so he may see this & comment - if you're lucky!
  5. Totally agree with a standard sub, which often don't go much higher anyway. But was wondering whether it might make sense to flex this to make more use of the bass combo's ability to handle higher frequencies?
  6. They are lovely instruments, I don’t think you will be disappointed if you take the plunge.
  7. Yes, I noticed he had a 5-string bass. First string at C? Strathclyde Concertos - that's right. I saw the first performance of number 7. I loved it, but most of the audience seem to have lost the ability to move their arm muscles to clap at the end.
  8. Three sets are Nickel, 2 are push on, 1 Grub is Screw. Tuther set is Chrome push on. Price includes postage.
  9. Each of the three £182 pedals (OD, comp, DI) can be found in the Transit B pedal (along with EQ and tuner) for considerably less money, especially second-hand
  10. Agreed! Clean does look really great and very satisfying too! But having engaged the wrong effect at the wrong time mid song and getting justifiably disapproving looks from bandmates, I've come to appreciate the need for adequate spacing for my large feet with gigging boards!
  11. I have one of these as well and to be honest it's probably the best p bass I've played. I was going to change the pickups etc but it's great the way it is. Plus the matt dakota red is really cool
  12. This little rascal remains here. How about £190 delivered?
  13. I do it all for us, but unless there’s a joke to be had, usually at the expense of someone in the audience, I keep it to a minimum. I think it’s important to have a bit of chat between songs… but the big no no as far as I’m concerned, is introducing individual bands members. Literally nobody cares.
  14. Thanks! just don't look underneath!! 😬

  16. The last bump for this bass, unfortunately the high price is daunting to some people. I was offered to sell the neck alone. OK, but it is not cheap (as it wasn't when I bought it), so I can sell the 1963 neck for Eur.2000 + postage (=£ 1740 + postage for UK buyers)
  17. Really nice board. Great pedals and very clean.
  18. A space behind the bridge where maybe you could put a sandwich for half way through a long gig?
  19. Delivered! The pictures don’t do it justice wrt size - this thing is tiny!!! Solid build though, love it. I should be able to get it hooked up a little later on, can’t wait to include it in the Filter Monster Board. Whoop whoop happy birthday to me 😁👍🏻👍🏻 I’m going to immortalise the instructions here in case they go awol at any point. I know I can always search the forums and find them again. we should start a BassChat instructions thread somewhere and archive PDFs of everything. Cool resource.
  20. They ought to make a deluxe version of the Mikro Bass. I would buy it instantly.
  21. I'd like Ibanez to increase their s-s range. I've got lots of time for the brand as far as value for money goes.
  22. Why don’t you buy a cheap P bass and take the neck off for transport?
  23. Loving this build I added the Para EQ this week, don't think I'll be changing much for a while (other than stripping it down a bit depending on situation).
  24. I was dubbed "Val Hooligan" by our keyboard player cos I had a pair of Icelandic jumpers which I wore to our freezing practice hall

  26. If you play a passive bass, you might be finding that it doesn't quite give you the fat tone that you're after when you play live. Or you might already be on an endless search for a way to boost your bass signal. As a professional bassist, I need to play a mixture of active and passive basses at my gigs, and although I love passive basses for plugging directly into my computer for teaching or recording YouTube videos, I used to find that my tone was lacking when playing live through an amp. Then I stumbled upon a pedal that fixed this exact problem - the Xotic RC Booster. Now, I'm not one for using loads of effects, but I always use this pedal with my passive basses, for good reason. Check out my latest YouTube video where I chat about the pedal and give you some samples of how it sounds.
