  2. Somethimes when buying secondhand, you get an accessory or two thrown in as a freebie. This week I bought a Fender starcaster bass which was listed as coming with a case. I expected a ratty gigbag, but it actually came with a (very slightly tatty but fully intact) epiphone Jack Casady hard case. Also included was a very nice worn-in Gibson 'modern vintage' black leather strap and a set of schaller strap locks (not copies). The strap goes for £58 new from gibson and might be . I'm not a fan of schaller strap locks and have ordered a set of gotoh fender-style buttons to go on the bass to be used with grolsch-style rubbery strap blocks, but the schallers should be worth the price of a few pints if I sell them. A nice bargain came from Cash converters where my black epiphone vintage pro thunderbird eventually only set me back about £100 once I had sold the humongous heavy duty aluminium flight case that came with it.
  3. Up for sale is a Nordstrand 2B-4C Prewired - Preamp + Volume (Pull Passive) + Blend + Tone + Stacked Bass/Treble. Great preamp, very clear sounding. Runs on 18v. I had this in my mike lull for a year but have recently changed to a slightly different sounding preamp. In great condition. My tech snipped the wires when removing the battery connectors so they would need reattaching, the only other thing that you might need is some double sided tape for the bottom of the circuit board part (forgive me I'm not very technically informed with these things!) These are £150 new, I'm looking for £75 including UK postage.
  4. On a moderate budget, and fairly easy to obtain, I’d recommend the MXR that you highlighted, or the EBS Unichorus. If you want to spend a bit more, or don’t mind importing, the Providence Anadime Bass Chorus (make sure you get the bass version) is amazing, as is the Horrothia Type One.
  5. Bought a vocoder off Paul, super smooth transaction, great comms throughout and it was well packaged and delivered promptly. Lovely bit of kit as well, cheers Paul!
  6. Bought a BK7 from Andy, fantastic comms, pedal turned up promptly in great packaging and it's a fantastic bit of kit in pretty much mint condition. Cheers Andy!
  7. By the late herbie flowers. Set to record
  8. Been enjoying this album. Only became aware of her by accident when a CD I bought mistakenly has one of her albums printed on it as opposed to the one I bought.
  9. Home straight… Bottom block fixed, bass bar reinforced, top going on. Slowly one step at a time. Leave it like this for 24hrs. Finish off tomorrow.
  10. For the record, I didn't remove the top of the guitar, worked from the outside of the ... side with a router (I like the neat work you get with this tool) and a template, then glued the rosace in and that was it. Not that difficult if you work slowly and accurately, Chris.
  11. Ha ha! Dr King is ready for you now… (evil cackle, snap of latex gloves etc)
  12. Give @PaulKing a prod ... he'll get the top off for you in no time at all.
  13. Would they? Gimmie all your loving is pretty well one note all the way through (ok, yes, its 3 one note riffs) I would imagine almost noone who wasn't a bass player could recognise that song from the bass line. Maybe 'Take a walk on the wild side'.
  14. No longer on hold (my apologies Mark). Sorry but this MUST be collection/local meet up only. I've tried two bike boxes & couldn't get either to work.
  15. Various Source Audio midi adapters etc: 1. Midi Neuro Hub. Control Source Audio pedals via the control inputs and a midi controller. In box with extra TRRS cables but no mini usb cable. £50 posted to you in the UK 2. Two SA midi adapters, Converts MIDI to the control input on the back of a SA pedal. With appropriate cables. £25 each posted to you in the UK 3. Source Audio tap tempo switch. With 1/4" output to work with just about anything and a TRRS 1/8" to work with control inputs on SA pedals. £25 posted to you in the UK
  16. I've used an EHX Bass Clone for years and like it. You can boost the lows with the eq on it and the crossover can help too. The Source Audio Gemini may also be worth a look as it has so many types of chorus built in to it
  17. Raz (Yavor) bought my WT550. Excellent comms. The usual up-front and sent to his requested address in Dartford. Would sell to him again.
  18. Got the bass and it was in as new condition. The bags are still on the tuners and film on the pickguard. Yay! The fit and finish are exceptional, the neck is a thing of beauty - reminded me of the Charvel necks everybody used to rave about. I actually quite like the colour, it is an unusual green but perfectly complements the darker colour of the neck. The preamp and eq are working perfectly as per the review above and you can get some positively thunderous tones out of the thing. It is perfect apart from the neck dive which when seated, is probably up there with the worst of any bass I've ever owned. Such a shame. Definitely worth what I paid for it but it could have been a 10/10.

  21. I've snagged some tickets for the tour and will be seeing them in Hertford in January. This video popped up on my FB feed and i thought it was quite interesting 🙂
  22. Good luck with sale - I just got one of these and if you perform with no amps and IEMs the XLR output sounds amazing. Worth every penny.
  23. A week ago now but I played my first overseas gig in Germany at a small doom festival in Leonberg, with Gévaudan. Really really cool vibe, promoters really looked after all the bands and the crowd were ace both whilst on stage and hanging out during the before and after. we played pretty well and the sound was clear and mainly on point on stage. Good times and lots learned. Felt like a very different approach to love music on the continent.
